Estudo microclimático do ambiente de cavernas, Parque Estadual Intervales, SP / Microclimate study of caves enviroment, Parque Estadual Intervales, SP

Bárbara Nazaré Rocha 31 August 2010 (has links)
The ambient protection of the geologic resources is a question with increasing interest. The caves exploration is one of the geological tourism forms more spread out. Therefore, the characteristics of its ambient must be known, such as the climatic ones, to define strategies of management and ambient conservation associates with its tourist use. Thus, the general objective of this research is to detect the main microclimatic alterations in the cave environment in result of the tourist visits in the interior of grottos of PEI, SP. As specific objective, it was purposed to characterize the cave microclimate in natural conditions and to detect the physics characteristics of the caves that influence in its microclimate. The methodology consisted in collect data of temperature and relative humidity of the air of nine caves with automatic sensors. Also the values of carbonic gas had been registered. The variation of the climatic attributes was analyzed in natural situation and in presence of visitors. The results show that the caves microclimate tends to have stability values of air temperature and present high values of air relative humidity and carbonic gas concentration. Caves with rivers of great volume and skylights do not present impact in its atmosphere, even in the presence or tourists, because the gaseous exchanges with the external way are facilitated. In dry and dark grottos, with narrow entrances and corridors, the microclimate tends to stability, being subject to impacts, especially rises in the air temperature.

The Rio Grande do Sul state, in function of its geographical position, is a region strongly influenced by meteorological systems, in which the behavior of the relative humidity needs further study. The objective of this work was the study of the relative humidity behavior in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, was used data from monthly averages of 26 meteorological stations in the period 1975 to 2009. For this purpose, the homogeneous regions were determined through analysis of grouping and the grouping method of Ward that has better consistent with the climatic characteristics of the state, in which has been obtained four regions: R1, R2, R3 e R4. For all regions, was made a climatologically study through statistical parameters in order to analyze the climatic variability of this variable. The spatial distribution of relative humidity allowed observing that it has a high pattern in the entire state, being the coastal region the most humid. The relative humidity has only in Regions 2 and 3, a significant linear trend over time, with monthly increase of 0.006% and 0.005%, respectively. During the thirty five years, the monthly increase was 2.52% for the region 2 and 2.1% for the region 3. Was also applied the technique of harmonic analysis to humidity relative data. The proposed models of this harmonic analysis expressed the seasonality of this data with more than 80% of representatively, using for this, two or three sine waves.

Damp Heat Degradation of CIGS Solar Modules

Cano Garcia, Jose January 2017 (has links)
Due to the short period that some photovoltaic technologies have taken part on the solar energy market, it is crucial to evaluate the long term stability of solar cells belonging to those technologies in order to ensure a minimum lifetime of their performance. Accelerated degradation tests are thus carried out to achieve such goals. The present study analyzes the encapsulation effects on co-evaporated manufactured Copper Indium Gallium Selenide (CIGS) solar cells under damp heat conditions, consisting in 85 °C and 85 % relative humidity, during an approximated period of 1000 hours. The experimental procedure has been carried out at Solliance Solar Research facilities. Since the encapsulation packages play a critical role as a protection to achieve long term stability of the solar cells and modules, several packaging structures and materials has been taken into study. Thus, eighteen types of mini modules were manufactured including different combinations of encapsulants, front sheet foils, thin film protective barriers and CIGS cells from different manufacturers. The design of these mini modules and the manufacturing process to obtain them is also presented in this work. Various characterization techniques were carried out in order to acquire the required information about the solar cells and encapsulants performance along the damp heat degradation process. The results exposed that encapsulation packages including thin film barriers between the encapsulant and the front sheet foil allowed a longer solar cell lifetime due to their remarkable protection against moisture ingress. Moreover, the degradation of the molybdenum layer included in the CIGS cells was found as principal cause of efficiency decrement and end of performance of solar cells protected by regular encapsulant and front sheet foils. Some other findings in relation with the evaluated components are shown along the present study.

Bending properties of commercial wood-based panels by NDT methods

Poggi, Francesco January 2017 (has links)
This thesis work focuses mainly on the application of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods on wood-based panels (WBP) in order to estimate the bending properties. To prove the accuracy and applicability of these methods on WBP, their results are correlated with results from a standardized static bending test. The behavior in different climate conditions and the application on panels of larger sizes is also questioned to provide an indication about strong points and boundaries of NDT methods applied on WBP.The bending properties are of major importance, especially for materials suited to bear loads. Bending stiffness, represented by the modulus of elasticity (MOE), is an expression of the deflection rate of a material under load. The bending strength, represented by the modulus of rupture (MOR), is an expression of the maximum load withstood by a material before rupture. Before testing, the material is acclimatized in three climate conditions: dry (20°C, 35% RH), standard (20°C, 65% RH) and wet (20°C, 85% RH), to understand the bending properties variation and how the NDT methods are affected by the variation in moisture content. The materials used are seven types of WBP, in particular four types of particleboards (PB), one type of high-density fiberboard (HDF), one type of dual density PB (with high and low density areas along the production direction) and one type of light-weight panel (Board-on-stiles, a composite panel of HDF, PB and paper honeycomb). To test the bending properties the following NDT methods are considered: transversal resonance vibration and longitudinal resonance vibration with the use of the BING system and the time-of-flight with the use of Fakopp Ultrasonic Timer and Silvatest Trio. The resonance vibration methods, transversal and longitudinal, are based on the relation between resonance vibration properties and bending properties of a material. The relation with bending properties also exists for the stress wave velocity (SWV) through a material, calculated with the time-of-flight method. The dynamic MOE resulting from these tests is then correlated with the static MOE and MOR from the static bending test. The NDT methods resulted to be reliable on WBP, with generally high levels of correlation between dynamic MOE and static MOE and MoR. The highest correlation value for MoE is with the transversal resonance vibration while the highest for MOR is with the longitudinal resonance vibration. The results of the dynamic MOE for all the NDT methods are higher than the static MOE, as confirmed also in the literature; the average ratio between the dynamic and the static MOE is, for example, up to 1,6 for WBP in standard climate condition, tested with Fakopp U.T.. These results are extremely higher than values suggested by previous studies. Moreover, the ratio increases with increasing relative humidity of the climate condition. The results from the tests on larger sizes suggest a possible application in this field. The time-of-flight method is suitable for in-plane uniform materials, like the PB and HDF, while the transversal resonance methods give also a good representation of the properties of the dual density PB and the light-weight panel.

Aflatoxinas: ocorrência, distribuição e estimativa de ingestão através de produtos de amendoim na cidade de Piracicaba - São Paulo / Aflatoxins: occurence, distribution and estimate of ingestion through processed peanut products in Piracicaba city – state of São Paulo

Ana Paula Pereira Carvalho 12 May 2006 (has links)
The peanut contamination with aflatoxins has already been objective of several researches. However there is no published article dealing with the aflatoxin contamination distribution among packages of processed peanut products, containing hole or smashed grains of peanut, neither with the estimate of ingestion of aflatoxins related to peanut products. The objective of this research study was to investigate the occurrence and the widespread-distribution of contamination with aflatoxins in packages of processed peanut products available on the market in Piracicaba city – state of São Paulo and to characterize the samples in terms of: the aspect of the package by visual inspection, the actual weight in comparison to the weight printed on the labels, the water activity of the peanut products and the ambient conditions (temperature and relative humidity) in the sampled stores, as well as to estimate the ingestion of aflatoxin AFB1 through peanut products. In general, based on the visual inspection of the aspect of the peanut products sampled in this study, the packages were not considered a potential source of contamination with aflatoxins. Also, the check of the actual net weight of the products in comparison to the declared weight on the product labels didn’ t show harmfull weight variations to the consumers. The analytical results for water activity showed that in general the values of aw of the products were not high enough to allow the fungic growth-development and the values of water activity could allow the fungic growth. With respect to the temperature and relative humidity it was observed that the temperature of many stores could favor the fungic growth while that relative humidity wasn‘t show values favorable to the fungic growth. The results of contamination with aflatoxins showed that there were some cases which showed contamination with aflatoxin above accepted levels by the Brazilian legislation and that establishment of different size showed one same frequency and level of contamination by aflatoxin. The research of the distribuition of contamination showed that can occur on distribuition enough different among packages of the same lot, also in processed product from peanut products that presented grains crushed, and detection of contamination with aflatoxin in these products, showed to be the more easy detection that in processed products that used grains not crushed or entire grains. The evaluation the consumption the peanut products showed levels differents the levels obtained across the literature datas, to stand up an importance the if to work with real datas of consumption for estimated the probable diary ingestion the aflatoxin AFB1. The estimated of probable diary ingestion (IDP) the aflatoxin AFB1, showed be lower than acceptable diary ingestion (IDA) to proposal by literature, to stand up that as (IDP) reported in this reasearch were only due the consumption the peanut products and not in the statement the completed diet of population.

Mécanismes de déclenchement des avalanches granulaires humides / Triggering mecanism of wet granular avalanches

El Tannoury, Claude 04 October 2018 (has links)
The dynamics of avalanche triggering in a slowly inclined granular medium passes through three phases; (1) small local and independent rearrangements of grains (2) followed by collective, successive and quasi-periodic movements, called 'precursors' (3) ending in an avalanche. This dynamic can depend on many parameters. In this thesis, we have studied, by optical and acoustic measurements, the response of the granular medium subjected to a slow inclination of its container. We determined the importance of choosing the power of the acoustic signal on our measurements. We observed the effect of the grain surface condition on the occurrence of precursors and the occurrence of the avalanche. We performed tilted cycles ranging from -θ to +θ ending in an avalanche. We have demonstrated the influence of the θ cycle angle on the precursors and the final avalanche angle. We have also studied granular media with moisture contents between 40 and 96%, by surface and lateral optical measurements. We have shown that the avalanche angles and the appearance of the first precursors depend on the grain size but also the humidity. This dependence is related to cohesive forces that are relatively higher at high humidity and that compensate for the force of gravity for small grains. Finally, we have shown the importance of a homogeneous diffusion of moisture in the environment on its behavior. The impact of grain wettability was also discussed.

Teplotně vlhkostní namáhaní stěny dřevostavby / Hygrothermal processes in walls of wooden houses

Veselá, Lucie January 2018 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the thermal-humidity stress of the wooden wall. The work is focused on the connection of the wall to the base structure of the building. Three details were chosen. The work was focused on detail with the most common structure of an external wall used in the Czech Republic on the composition with a supporting structure made of KVH columns, which are filled with mineral insulation. This construction is covered with plate elements. The insulation from the exterior is made of ETICS with expanded polystyrene thermal insulation. This detail was assessed in the software. To compare the results calculated by real-time software, an experimental model was made, which was subjected to experimental measurements. Part of the diploma thesis is a comparison of detail stress under different boundary design conditions, with or without anchoring.

Analýza dat pro řešení problémů s vlhkostí v budovách / Analysis of Data to Solve Problems with Humidity in Buildings

Nečasová, Klára January 2019 (has links)
The aim of this work was to solve problems with excessive humidity in buildings using data analysis. The theoretical part of the work deals with impacts of excessive humidity on the health of building occupants and also the condition of the building structure. Data mining methods including classification, prediction, and clustering are described together with model evaluation and selection. The practical part focuses on hardware platform description and measurement scenarios. Key parameters affecting indoor relative humidity are indoor and outdoor temperature and outdoor relative humidity. The long-term measurement of the mentioned parameters was performed using the set of sensors and BeeeOn system. Measured data was used to design a system for event detection related to a humidity change. The approach to air change regulation in the room was based on natural ventilation.
