There is a great diversity of initiatives furthering unity among christians. Probably the most important ones are those of the World Council of Churches (WCC), the Roman Catholic Church as such and the Lausanne Movement of the Evangelicals. The "Runde Tisch" (=Round Table) brings together Austrian christians from all parts of the christian scenario as a new initiative towards unity. To find out, which of these initiatives is the most efficient, from a mission-strategical standpoint, this thesis develops the New Testament findings on the question of unity. Then, the 4 models are presented to finally be compared, to find out, where each one has its strengths and weaknesses. The Round Table Austria with its great width of christians involved, its theological profoundness and its leadership structure with proportional engagement of members from all present parts of the christian body is indeed quite close to the New Testament picture of unity. / Initiativen, die die Einheit unter Christen fördern gibt es sehr viele. Mit zu den wichtigsten zählen die des Weltkirchenrates (WCC), die Römisch-katholische Kirche als solche und die Lausanner Bewegung der Evangelikalen. Der Runde Tisch bringt in Österreich Christen aus allen Richtungen der Christenheit in eine neue Einheitsinitiative zusammen. Um nun herauszufinden, welche dieser Initiativen missionsstrategisch effizient ist, entfaltet diese Arbeit zunächst den neutestamentlichen Befund zur Frage der Einheit unter Christen. Dann werden die vier Modelle dargestellt und abschließend mit dem Ziel verglichen, herauszuarbeiten, wo die Stärken und Schwächen eines jeden Ansatzes liegen. Hierbei dient als Maßstab der Befund der neutestamentlichen Analyse. This paper investigates the contours of the program of New Evangelisation of Europe (NEE) in the Roman-Catholic Church. While the roots lie with Vatican II and Paul VI.'s Evangelii Nuntiandi, the concept itself was developed by Pope John Paul II., the European Council of Bishops (CCEE) and the Bishops' Special Synod on Europe in 1991.
The concept sees European culture as having been born out of Catholic
Christianity. Postchristian Europe therefore is judged as having lost its (catholic) soul.
This becomes evident in a reduction of humanness in the personal, cultural and spiritual realm. Therefore official Catholic teaching outlines NEE as personal spiritual renewal, catholic unity and cultural transformation. Source, norm and bearer of the NEE is the
Roman-Catholic church. The author however thinks that genuine renewal springs from God's Word and Spirit (missio Dei), creating communities of faith, transforming both, church and culture in Europe. / Viele Jahrhunderte lang sahen die europaischen Kirchen ihren Kontinent und ihre Kultur als corpus Christianum. ,,Mission" galt nur den ,,Heiden" in Obersee. Diese Sicht geriet im Laufe des 20. Jahrhunderts ins Wanken. Imrner mehr Stimrnen fragten: ist nicht auch Europa ,,Missionfeld"? Inzwischen sind sich die meisten kirchlichen Traditionen in Europa einig, dal3 sie es mit einer ,,nachchristlichen" oder ,,neuheidnischen" Kultur zu tun haben, die emeut missionarisch mit dem Evangelium durchdrungen werden mu13. Die vorliegende Arbeit mochte die Konturen und Grundlinien des romisch-katholischen
Programmes der Neuevangelisierung Europas (NEE) verstehen, darstellen und kritisch wurdigen. Die Arbeit besteht aus sechs Hauptteilen.
Im ersten Teil werden grundlegende missiologische Aussagen des II. Vatikanischen Konzils und das Schreiben Papst Pauls VI. Evangelii Nuntiandi als Hintergrund und Wurzel fur das Konzept der NEE interpretiert.
Im zweiten Teil stelle ich die Entwicklung der NEE im Denken Johannes Pauls II. seit 1979 dar, wahrend ich mich im dritten Teil auf die Interpretation der NEE auf den Symposien des Rates der Europaischen Bischofskonferenzen (CCEE) von 1982-1989 konzentriere. In verschiedenen Nuancen heben sich die Interpretationen der Bischfofe
von den Gedanken Papst Johannes Pauls II. ab, ohne jedoch grundlegende Widerspriiche zu erzeugen.
Im vierten T eil zeichne ich die Gedankengange zur NEE anhand der
Abschlu13erklarung der Sondersynode der Bischofe fur Europa von 1991 nach. Die Synode stellt einen unspektakularen Hohepunkt, eine gewisse Zasur und eine ausgewogene Zusamrnenfassung der Entwicklung des Konzeptes dar.
Eine systematische Zusamrnenfassung der Grundlinien der NEE bildet den funften Teil. Es wird deutlich, da13 die NEE die gesamte missionarische Existenz der romischkatholischen
Kirche in Europa in all ihrer Vielfalt umfasst, um dem Ziel geistlicher,
kirchlicher und kultureller Emeuerung im eschatologischen Horizont des Reiches Gottes naherzukommen.
Im abschlie13enden Teil versuche ich das Konzept der Neuevangelisierung Europas anhand verschiedener missiologischer Modelle einzuordnen und aus evangelikaler Sicht kritisch zu wlirdigen. Die Starke des Konzeptes sehe ich im kulturbezogenen Ruf zur
Urnkehr aus gottlosem und destruktivem Glauben, Denken und Handeln und der Verkiindigung der Hinkehr zu Jesus Christus, die sich in alle Bereiche der Kultur auswirkt und somit Europa mit neuer Hoffnung und Zukunft erfullen kann. Die Schwache des (offiziellen) Konzeptes sehe ich darin, da13 die romisch-katholische Kirche m.E. zur Norm fur die Emeuerung gemacht wird. Umfassende Emeuerung jedoch geht

Current society is much diversified as regards its culture of customs and trends encountered also in the eating habits of people. Our health-care facilities provide treatment to a good number of patients of different religions and, consequently, different eating habits. We certainly do not want the patients to be only passive recipients of medical care. That is why the nurses have to put some effort into learning about the individual eating habits of their patients. A nurse informed about food that a patient wishes or does not wish to be given is able to use her own initiative in providing what is needed to satisfy the requirements. In this way the nurse will involve the patients in the treatment and boost their confidence in the health-care staff. The theoretical section investigates primarily nutritional habits of believers of some selected religions, namely Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Roman Catholic Church and Brethren Church. Other parts of the theoretical section analyzed some alternative nutritional trends. Also mentioned was food provision at health-care facilities and the competences of nutrition therapeutists and assistants. The empirical section formulated four objectives: (1) to specify the main features of nutritional trends met in the selected religions; (2) to measure the level of nurses' expertise in the eating habits associated with the selected religions; (3) to find out whether the nurses in providing the care respect the clients' nutritional trends as related to the selected religions; and (4) to investigate the importance and observance of specific nutritional trends in the selected religions as perceived by the clients and the nurses. The methodology relied on a quality-oriented survey performed through controlled interviews with the clients, and a quantity-oriented survey conducted through questionnaires distributed among clients and nurses. The qualitative survey was to answer these questions: What eating habits can be encountered in clients professing the selected religions? Does proper observation of the clients' eating habits make the clients satisfied with the nursing care? The quantitative survey was based on assumptions that (1) nurses ignorant of the nutritional trends will make the clients unhappy about the nursing care, and that (2) proper attention paid to varied eating habits in different cultures will make the job of nursing teams in health-care facilities a more burdensome task. The survey has been conducted in the regions of South Bohemia and Central Bohemia. Judging from the results, the objectives have been met, the hypotheses confirmed, and the research questions objectivized. The work resulted in an Education Sheet to be used by both nurses and the public.

The aim of this thesis is to describe the development of register records in Bohemia by comparing the recent records in registry books with those issuing from the oldest registry books. It also shows the importance of the register records today and in the past, as well as the changes of these specifications and data through out the centuries. The importance of this thesis is to highlight the fact that the records in the registry books were originally determined to be registers of received sacraments arising from the clerical regulations issued by the Roman Catholic Church. The Trident Council instructed to keep registers of christening and marriages. But the implementation into practise of these registers took longer than it was expected. The register agenda in the Czech lands was not uniform until the 18th century. The proper integration of the register agenda was stated after this period on the basis of state regulations. The Roman Catholic Church contributed actively to the origin of keeping such an agenda and was also entitled and entrusted to supervise the register record of all other Churches.

Planalto. This municipality of the far North Goias had its Catholic religious formation different
from the usual. In Novo Planalto, the Brazilian Apostolic Catholic Church, a dissident and
emancipated Catholicism of Rome, exerted, between 1966 and the mid-1980, the dominion of
faith. Characterized by the prominent prestige of Bishop Dom Araújo Ribeiro with the local
population, the temple of the Brazilian Catholic Church was built where it is the central square
― an event that generated a dispute over the space of faith with the traditional Roman
Church. To make sense of this context, we resorted to the memory of some pioneers,
residents of Novo Planalto, to make this history, that is, oral history was the methodology
chosen to understand the social formation of this community. We present, preliminary, a
historical cut of the contestation of the universalism of Catholicism that culminated in the
founding of a national Catholic Church. We understand that religiosity has a practical
relationship with social, cultural composition and the feeling of belonging to a given social
body. Thus, the work proposes to compose, from testimonies of former residents and
pioneers, the history of tensions between the two strands of Catholicism as special substance
in the composition of the Novoplanaltense community. / Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo compreender o fenômeno singular dos catolicismos na
cidade de Novo Planalto. Esse município do extremo norte goiano teve sua formação religiosa
católica diferente da habitual. Em Novo Planalto, a Igreja Católica Apostólica Brasileira, um
catolicismo dissidente e emancipado de Roma, exerceu, entre 1966 e meados da década de
1980, o domínio da fé. Caracterizada pelo prestígio proeminente do bispo Dom Waldemir
Araújo Ribeiro junto à população local, o templo da Igreja Católica Brasileira foi construído
onde é a praça central ― acontecimento que gerou disputa pelo espaço da fé com a
tradicional Igreja Romana. Para dar sentido a esse contexto, recorremos à memória de alguns
pioneiros, moradores de Novo Planalto, para perfazer essa história, isto é, a história oral foi a
metodologia escolhida para compreender a formação social dessa comunidade. Apresentamos,
preliminarmente, um recorte histórico da contestação do universalismo do catolicismo que
culminou na fundação de uma Igreja católica nacional. Entendemos que a religiosidade tem
relação prática com a composição social, cultural e com o sentimento de pertencimento de um
dado corpo social. Desse modo, o trabalho propõe compor, a partir de testemunhos de
antigos moradores e pioneiros, a história das tensões entre as duas catolicidades como
substância especial na composição da comunidade novoplanaltense.

Previous issue date: 2014 / Resumo: O propósito principal deste trabalho é estudar as relações dos dois últimos bispos de São Paulo colonial com o poder secular no interior da capitania, observando o poder episcopal na dinâmica dos poderes locais, e no espaço mais amplo de suas relações administrativas, em direção ao Reino, centro administrativo do império português. Objetivou-se analisar a medida da interferência do padroado ¿ instituição reguladora das relações Igreja e Estado no período moderno ¿ no quadro das autonomias episcopais ultramarinas. Partindo dos episcopados de D. Fr. Manuel da Ressurreição (1771 a 1789) e D. Matheus de Abreu Pereira (1795 a 1824), investigamos as relações que estabeleceram nesse período com os governadores da capitania de São Paulo, estes os principais responsáveis por assegurar que no âmbito local se praticasse o padroado. Outrossim, as relações político-administrativas dos bispos com o Reino, sede do poder real, foram mapeadas por meio da instituição régia responsável pela administração do Ultramar, o Conselho Ultramarino. Através desse estudo pretende-se tornar cada vez mais visível o papel do episcopado nos quadros da administração ultramarina portuguesa, trazendo à tona a importância desse segmento eclesiástico para a manutenção do poder monárquico nos domínios coloniais / Abstract: The main purpose of this paper is to study the relationship of the two last bishops of the colonial São Paulo with the secular power inside the captaincy, observing the episcopal power in the dynamics of local authorities, and in the broader space of their administrative relationship toward the Kingdom, administrative centre of Portuguese empire. One had as goal to analyze the patronage's interference measure ¿ regulatory institution of the relationship between the Church and the State in the modern period ¿ in the structure of the overseas episcopal autonomies. Starting from the episcopacy of D. Fr. Manuel da Ressurreição (from 1771 to 1789) and D. Matheus de Abreu Pereira (from 1795 to 1824), we have investigated the relationship which were established in this period with the governors of the São Paulo captaincy, who were the main responsible for ensuring that locally would be practiced the patronage. Furthermore, the political and administrative relationship of the bishops with the Kingdom, headquarter of the royal power, were mapped by means of the regal institution responsible for the Overseas administration, the Overseas' Council. Master's thesis called Spirituality of Faithful Women in Pregnancy and after the Birth focuses on meaning of spirituality, expressing of spirituality and possible transformation of women's spirituality in pregnancy and after the birth. The thesis is divided into theoretical and research part. The theoretical part contains three chapters. The aim of the first chapter is to define the term of spirituality. It deals with spirituality as a dimension of personality, and spirituality as a need. This part also presents the seven dimensions of Christian spirituality, spirituality of women and the spirituality of motherhood. The second chapter describes the term of pregnancy, childbirth and the period after the birth from the perspective of a holistic approach. The third chapter focuses on spirituality in pregnancy and after the birth. This part contains biblical-theological perspective of pregnancy and childbirth and includes the Roman Catholic Church point of view. The research part of the thesis uses a qualitative social science approach with biographical research design. The thesis presents an edition of lettres by writer Jakub Deml (1878-1961) with his long- standing friend, priest Vladimír Evermod Balcárek (1885-1974). Their mutual correspondence from 1905 to 1959 on the one hand records a lot of events from poet's private life, on the other hand it is a source for deeper understanding of his works. The edition is completed by editorial comment, list of correspondence, name index and explanatory notes which purpose is to clearif further circumstances of the mentioned events. Additonal comments try to introduce the personality of addressee, Vladimír Evermod Balcárek and the two most dramatic events which are mentioned in the lettres. 'The Standard-bearer of the Roman Church' : Lorenzo da Brindisi (1559-1619) and Capuchin Missions in the Holy Roman EmpireDrenas, Andrew J. G. January 2014 (has links)
This thesis examines the missionary work of the Italian Capuchin Lorenzo da Brindisi. Renowned in his own day as a preacher, Bible scholar, missionary, chaplain, and diplomat, as well as vicar general of his Order, Lorenzo led the first organised, papally-commissioned Capuchin mission among the non-Catholics of Bohemia in the Holy Roman Empire from 1599 to 1602, and returned there, again under papal mandate, from 1606 to 1613. This thesis examines Lorenzo’s evangelistic and polemical activities in Central Europe in order to shed light on some of the ways the Capuchins laboured in religiously divided territories to confirm Catholics in their faith and to win over heretics. The introduction explains, principally, the thesis’s purpose and the historiographical background. Chapter one provides a brief biographical sketch of Lorenzo’s life followed by details of his afterlife. Chapter two examines his leading role in establishing the Capuchins’ new Commissariate of Bohemia-Austria-Styria in 1600, and specifically its first three friaries in Prague, Vienna, and Graz. Chapter three treats his preaching against heresy. Chapter four focuses on how Lorenzo, while in Prague, involved himself directly in theological disputations with two different Lutheran preachers. The first dispute, with Polykarp Leyser, took place in July 1607, and dealt with good works and justification. The second, with a Lutheran whose name is not known for certain, and which occurred in August 1610, concerned Catholic veneration of the Virgin Mary. Chapter five analyses the Lutheranismi hypotyposis, Lorenzo’s literary refutation of Lutheranism following additional contact with Polykarp Leyser in 1607. The conclusion considers briefly the effectiveness of Lorenzo’s apostolate and closes with a review of the thesis as a whole.
