The Beef Nutrient Database Improvement Study: Retail Cuts from the Loin and RoundGrimes, Haley 2012 May 1900 (has links)
The objective of this study was to update the existing nutritional data available in the USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference by providing revised nutritional information on the round and loin cuts evaluated in Phase III of the Nutrient Database Improvement Project. A total of 20 carcasses were selected from three packing plants across the United States, and round and loin subprimals from these carcasses were collected and transported to Texas A&M University. These subprimals were fabricated 14 to 21 d postmortem, dissected either raw or cooked, and divided to determine the amount of separable lean, separable fat, and refuse amounts per cut. Separable lean from these cuts was homogenized and proximate analyses were conducted in order to determine percent total chemical fat, protein, moisture, and ash.
Cooking yields and fat retention values were determined for the cuts that were grilled and roasted. Cuts with external fat had higher cooking yields than cuts with external fat removed. Cuts with external fat had higher fat retention values than the cuts with no external fat. Dissection data indicated that cuts trimmed to lower levels of external fat had the highest values for percent lean and the lowest values for percent seam and external fat and bone-in cuts had the lowest values for percent lean and the highest values for percent refuse. Proximate analyses indicated a decrease in percent moisture as the percentage of total chemical fat increased. Also, round cuts evaluated in the study contained a lower percentage of total chemical fat than loin cuts on a raw basis. When total chemical fat was stratified by USDA quality grade, it was evident that there was a clear separation between upper Choice, lower Choice, and Select cuts.
Data resulting from this study will be used to update the existing nutritional database and will provide a current nutritional profile for beef loin and round products.

The manpower retention strategy of (Four shift two round) system ¡Vfor examples of T companyLin, Wen-Mao 26 August 2005 (has links)
High technology business is the motive power of Taiwan¡¦s economic development. It creates the golden miracle of Taiwan¡¦s economic. IC industry and TFT LCD are the main force in Taiwan. Manufacture is core of these businesses. In-line operators are the fundamental of these businesses. [Four shift Two round] is the working style of these companies. It is different from the traditional industry in Taiwan.
IC industries face the different labor power problem from highly growth status to mature status. The biggest change is they can't replace the new employee easily from the job market. Especially TFT industry joining, the replacement is higher in the labor power parts. It has already impacted IC industry. Mature labors select to quit and new employees are hardly to recruit. This situation made IC industry need to review their strategies of labor power maintenance.
It is the most important part for each IC manufacturing company to recruit suitable new employees and keep the mature labor power. Labor power maintenance is not only the duty of human resource department. It needs to be aligned with the core value of the whole business. Concentrate the common consensus of all members and provide the labor power policy to correspond with current environment.
This study is through the quit analysis and investigate to analyze the working status and system of the operators of [Four shift Two round]. Hope to provide the conclusion and suggestion for related businesses.

A study of parents' and teachers' perceptions of the effectiveness of year-round schools: implications for school administratorsBarker, Sheila Ann Hoskins 01 December 2003 (has links)
Using Baldwin, Coney, Fardig, and Thomas' (1993) School Effectiveness Questionnaires, this descriptive study compared parents' and teachers' perceptions of the effectiveness of four-year-round elementary schools in two urban school districts. The sample included 93 parents and 100 teachers. Correlates of effective schools included (a) effective instructional leadership, (b) clear and focused mission, (c) safe and orderly environment,(d) positive climate and high expectations, (e) frequent assessment/ monitoring of student achievement, (f) maximum opportunities for learning, and (g) parent/community involvement. Both parents and teachers had favorable perceptions of the effectiveness of year-round schools. Teachers rated the effectiveness of year-round schools higher than parents. Older teachers and parents rated the effectiveness of year-round schools higher

Evaluation of an Early Classic Round Structure at Santa Rita Corozal, BelizeKangas, Rachael 01 January 2015 (has links)
Round structures in the Maya area are an architectural form that is not well understood, in part due to the relatively few examples recovered through archaeological excavations. The site of Santa Rita Corozal, Belize offers one of the few examples of an Early Classic Period round structure (Structure 135) in the Maya region, one that is distinctive in its timing and architectural form. This thesis seeks to compare Structure 135 with the patterns of round structures identified in the Preclassic and Terminal/early Postclassic Periods, when there are comparatively more examples and to pinpoint the multiple construction periods evidenced in the excavations to define the changes to the structure over time. Based on this research, Structure 135 at Santa Rita Corozal does not clearly conform to earlier or later patterns of round structures in the Maya region and its use before abandonment and eventual transformation to a rectilinear shape was shorter than previously thought. This research also offers insights into the need for the contextual analysis of ceramics, and the difficulties of assuming context through the use of construction fill, even with a clear cultural formation process.
