En studie av centrala myndigheters säkerhetsarbete i boendemiljön / A study of central agencies' safety management in the living area

Lundqvist, Marie January 2009 (has links)

Rydman, Maria January 2010 (has links)

Train travel has increased in Sweden, and future increase of train transports putdemands on the already vastly exploited railroad net. The increased need of capacitycan be seen in the ongoing and planned expansions of the railway track. One part ofthe railroad infrastructure which is affected by an increase of travellers is the design ofthe station platform. Since the platform is the place where the traveller meets thetrain, dangerous situations can occur in this environment. A number of studies focuson single safety risks, albeit there is no research to show the full picture of safety inthe platform environment. This study aims to treat and put together a compilation of risks for the traveller in theplatform environment in the form of a checklist, which can be used as support inplanning and design of a safer platform environment for existing or planned platforms. The thesis has, through case studies of five ongoing projects within the NationalRailroad Administration (Banverket), interviews with train company personnel andinternational railroad administrators, identified and treated safety (and security) risksin the platform environment. The conclusion of the study is that the relations between the traveller, the physicalplatform environment and the project organisation are important to explore andexploit when designing effective safety measures. The identified risks are presented inthe checklist along with counter measures and a guideline for the reader to supporttools in avoiding and preventing safety problems in the platform environment.

Olsson, Elin, Lindblom, Andreas January 2010 (has links)
Can you ensure that your smoke detector will sense fire and sound the alarm in the middle of the night? In 80 percent of the cases where emergency pulls out, smoke detectors are missing where the fire occurred. In the year of 2009, 118 people in Sweden died in fires – most of them would have survived if there had been a functioning smoke detector. Earlier development of smoke detectors has mainly been focusing on components that sense smoke and alert in case of fire. But in most cases the problem has not been whether the smoke detector was working or not as fully assembled, but rather that it was missing. The smoke detector has in these cases unfortunately been removed because of unwanted alarms in connection with e.g. cooking and therefore been disassembled and forgotten about. Another major problem is the lack of power supply to the smoke detector i.e. the batteries run out and have not been replaced by new ones. Therefore, the project team has put the focus in the users when developing a new smoke detector, Safire, in order to eliminate the causes of having a non-functioning smoke detector at home. Safire is a unique solution that combines high security with simple using. Additionally it has a pleasant design that favors overall impression and enhances safety.

Khagebahri, Armin January 2011 (has links)
Work Environment problems on construction work sites are very extensive and discussed. The construction industry is one of the most dangerous industries in Sweden. The construction industry occupies about 290 000 employment (2009), and the investment was 250 billion SEK. This report will investigate the issues of the work environment and offer advice on how these can be measured and imporved. The study includes review and analyses of occupational injury statistics, interviews, inspections and audit and review of the literature. It is also includes review of work responsibilities and what the participant have the responsibilities and functions in the work environment. The results show that the construction work sites are one of the most dangerous workplaces. The statistics do not reflect reality and important factors are excluded. Work from height and managing in connection with tools are the most dangerous type of work. Work responsibilities are clear: the employer has the main responsibility for the work environment. The Work Environment act is the basis for the regulations that Swedish work environment authority gives out. Breaking the law or regualtion may not lead to seriously consequences, because it's a long process before punishment can be divided. The issues in work environment are more extensive in small companies and human error is much due to accidents. To edge the law and give the inspectors more eligibility than they now have to improve a better working environment and safer construction sites
