Kodkvällar hos Knowit : En Headless CMS och React applikation

Ejelöv, Jessica January 2023 (has links)
The purpose of the project is to create a website where Knowit Experience can present and invite people to their coding events. The work has been carried out by a larger team including project managers, UX designers, supervisors, and an Agile approach has been used. A Headless CMS called Hygraph has been used to create a structure that editors can easily use, and this CMS includes a GraphQL API that the website consumes. The website is created in React with TypeScript to create a secure typed application styled with Sass. The website handles registrations for newsletters and different event lists from users and displays the content of the editors. Several different user flows on the website have been automated using Pipedream to make it easier for editors, including automatic confirmation emails sent to those who register, and editors can easily send emails to specific mailing lists. Structure is also created in the CMS to allow editors to create dynamic forms to collect opinions and information from visitors at an event. The website has been developed with accessibility in mind and has been tested on different browsers and devices. The website is continuously tested for accessibility and correctly validated code throughout the work. The work results in a fully functional website with all intended features. / Projektets syfte är att skapa en webbplats där Knowit Experience kan presentera och bjuda in till deras event Kodkvällar. Studying the impact of a mobile application in food waste reduction, circular economy, and social interaction inside the community.

Gkalfas, Christos January 2019 (has links)
Social and ecological sustainability applications are a significant way to bring equality, equity, and happiness in society. Food waste and food security are two of the most significant problems the people have to tackle the next years. In every country, there are huge problems regarding the food waste which cause serious health problems and pollution not only in the atmosphere but in the subsoil as well. Contrary to that, there is a countless number of people facing food security issues every day across the globe. These problems occurred in Greece as well due to the modern way of living on one hand and the financial crisis on the other. A combination of technological ideas in the economic field of the circular economy could be applied to succeed in sustainable solutions. In this thesis, a literature search conducted in order to identify similar problems in Greece. There are very worrying statistics that indicate the massive food waste that is happening in Greek households. Additionally, the literature search for food security and unemployment reveals the significant problem occurred in society as a result of the financial crisis. An additional search in the field of the circular economy reveals excellent solutions in the agricultural machinery sharing and refactoring that could be applied locally, exploiting the existing infrastructure of the community. These solutions help small and young farmers to improve their financial situations. The author is exploring the effects of the financial crisis in the local economy in an effort to apply technological solutions in a form of a mobile application to interconnect people and make the donation, sharing and job search easier for the community. The ultimate goal of this study is to develop an application that could help the community to move towards social and ecological sustainability. Even though the ideas applied in this thesis are fresh to the community in the author’s region, the results of this work indicate that there are significant support and willingness to contribute. The development efforts are focusing on a mobile application where its features are focusing on the best possible interconnection among people of the community. Participants believe that the application interconnection along with the features provided, like the food donation, food sales, machinery sharing and job search among people of the community, could bring positive results reducing the food waste, promoting the circular economy, and toning the local economy in general. The data have shown that the author is moving towards the right path in his first attempt to present these ideas to the community in his region. Every participant in this study embraces his efforts finding potential value in the provided features of the application.

Developing a responsive mobile-first design guide for e-commerce with the users in focus

Aktan, Mathias, Wirén-Hallqvist, Ulf January 2014 (has links)
Mobile e-commerce is an increasing trend. Still, many sales sites are not adapted to mobile interfaces. Important factors in the design of successful e-commerce applications are trust, high quality graphics, and easy navigation. However, a typical design approach is to strip down functionality and this can have a negative impact on the user experience. The goal of this thesis was to create a style guide that can be used to develop responsive e-commerce sites through a mobile first implementation strategy. A style guide was created by applying modern design theory and by investigating existing e-commerce solutions. Moreover, a prototype of an e- commerce solution was developed using the style guide. This prototype was evaluated by an expert group of usability professionals. The study indicates that the style guide is a useful and effective tool in the design and development of e-commerce systems. We conclude that a mobile first strategy needs to be combined with subsequent traditional desktop design.

Modelování perfuzních křivek v dynamické magnetické rezonanci / Modelling of perfusion curves in dynamic magnetic resonance

Ochodnický, Erik January 2020 (has links)
Perfusion MRI can provide information about perfusion characteristics of the observed tissue, which makes it a widely applicable medical procedure. Measuring process of MRI is very time-consuming, and therefore, using classical reconstruction methods, we are often not able to obtain enough samples to accomplish the needed time and space resolution for perfusion analysis. That is why it is necessary to use compressed sensing, which allows reconstruction from under-sampled data by solving an optimization model. In this work, several models for reconstruction of an image sequence are verified on real and artificial data, along with multiple algorithms capable of solving these models. Among the optimization models used in this work are two L+S models with different regularization of the S component that are solved by Forward-Backward and Chambolle-Pock algorithm. The quality of reconstruction for various models was compared especially by their perfusion curves. In the last section, we explore possible modifications of the SASS model in order to increase quality of reconstruction and resistance to under sampling for the purpose of better adaptation for dynamic data.

Reakce Velké Británie na německo-litevský spor o Klajpedu ve třicátých letech: Kaunaský proces / The British Role in the German-Lithuanian Dispute over Klaipeda in 1930's: the Neumann-Sass Case

Homolová, Veronika January 2021 (has links)
In the spring of 1924, the Baltic sea coast territory of Klaipėda, formerly a region of East Prussia became an autonomous area administrated by the Republic of Lithuania. Given the mixed nationalities of the population, during the interwar period, Germany and Lithuania both pressured citizens to prefer one or the other nationality, which contributed to gradual radicalization and growing nationalist tendencies. The key outcome was the Kaunas process at the turn of 1934/35. Under the Law for the Protection of the Republic, 87 members of the Klaipėda national-socialist organizations CSA and SOVOG were convicted of conspiracy to annex the territory to Germany. The convictions led to an economic blockade of Lithuania by Germany and a massive pro-German propaganda campaign. The United Kingdom tried to settle the situation by increasing its trade activity with Lithuania, accompanied by diplomatic pressure on Lithuania to ease its stance against Germany. After Lithuania agreed to grant amnesties to those convicted of conspiracy, in 1936/37, German-Lithuanian economic relations were restored. However, in the late 1930s, the Republic of Lithuania became an easily blackmailed and diplomatically isolated state, forced to grant numerous concessions to its German minority population. The Lithuanian government...

K-12 STEM Educators and the Inclusive Classroom

Li, Songze 23 June 2016 (has links)
The United States public schools promote inclusion and educational equity among diverse student populations. Considerable and growing numbers of students with categorical disabilities and Limited English Proficiency (LEP) are enrolled in regular classrooms. The systemic barriers in learning that they have could impact teacher perceptions and decisions about teaching practices as well as the teaching profession. These students have challenged K-12 science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) teachers to provide high-quality, accommodative service and equitable educational opportunities in an increasingly STEM-infused society. Professional development associated with teaching students with disabilities and LEP is critical to inform in-service STEM teachers with these students' learning needs and promote student success. Effective preparation and support help maintain teacher satisfaction and retention within the teaching profession. However, the levels and perceptions of STEM teacher participation in such professional development, and whether the service load and professional development regarding the concerned groups of students associated with teacher satisfaction and retention remain unclear. This dissertation addresses these issues through two research studies using secondary analysis of the 2011-2012 School and Staffing Survey Teacher Questionnaire (SASS TQ) national dataset. The first study focused on K-12 STEM educator participation and perceived utility regarding their professional development experience concerning students with disabilities and LEP. Quantitative analysis revealed an overall lower level of participation and perceived utility of such professional development for STEM educators compared to all other educators. The second study examined teacher satisfaction and intent to remain in teaching, as well as their relationships to teacher service load and professional development specific to students with disabilities and LEP. Results indicated that K-12 STEM educators were less likely to feel satisfied or intent on remaining in teaching, compared to the remainder of the teaching population. Logistic regressions showed that service load of students with LEP predicted teacher satisfaction and participation in professional development concerning students with disabilities associated with teacher intent to remain in STEM education, especially for science educators. These findings collectively suggested the necessity and demands of sufficient and useful professional development offerings regarding the two concerned groups of students in inclusive STEM education settings. / Ph. Traçage isotopique (36CI, 4He, 234U) et modélisation hydrogéologique du Système Aquifère du Sahara Septentrional. Application à la recharge Quaternaire du Continental Intercalaire / Isotopic tracing (36Cl, 4He, 234U) and hydrogeologic modeling of the North Western Saharan Aquifer System. Application to the Quaternary recharge of the Continental Intercalaire

Petersen, Jade Oriane 02 July 2014 (has links)
Concerns about freshwater availability increase with the rise of populations demands and decrease of piezometric levels in some aquifers. However, this "instantaneous" variability is complicated by a long-term climatic variability that impacts hydrodynamics on timescales of thousands to hundred of thousands of years. This study characterizes the evolution of a large aquifer (extending over more than a million of km2), the Continental Intercalaire (CI), from hydrogeological and geochemical viewpoints, over several hundreds thousand years. For this purpose, we combined hydrogeologic modeling and geochemical tracing methods (36Cl, 234U/238U. . .).The CI is the main aquifer of the North Western Saharan Aquifer System (NWSAS). Located in a semi-arid to arid region, its presence suggests potential records of climatic variability on large temporal and spatial scales. Our results corroborate previous assessment of the modern recharge, which fluctuates between 0 and 6.75 mm yr−1, over the entire NWSAS. We also improve the understanding of previously poorly characterized recharge areas in the South of Tunisia. Isotopic tracers can provide a strong but complex link between past and present hydrodynamic conditions, so we struggled to investigate chlorine-36 and helium-4 paleorecords. In our hydrogeologic model of the CI, chlorine-36 data allowed us to propose some hypotheses about recharge scenarios (varying between 0.5 and 60 mm yr−1) during height of the last interglacial-glacial cycles (0-775 ky). By using multi-scale information (groundwater samples, outcrops and climatic areas), we developed a "hydro-climatic-geochemical" representation of the CI.
