Cadernos e outros registros escolares da primeira etapa do ensino fundamental : um olhar da psicologia escolar crítica / Notebooks and other school records in the first stage of elementary school : a perspective from critical school psychology.

Santos, Anabela Almeida Costa e 15 April 2008 (has links)
This research investigates notebooks and further records composed mainly by students within a school context. Over the fact school records are fundamental elements in school routines, there are still few studies on them. Works in Psychology, that had been devoted to this theme, benefit the understanding of these school productions as based on Psychometrics, also, as pure student\'s personality and affective-emotional states expressions. This way of comprehending these school produced records reveals itself inappropriate, once it considers them just as students personal productions, ignoring the institutional and relational context within school activities are done. This research was conducted by the necessity of constructing referentials to psychologically comprehend the school recordings that embrace the school proccesses which constitute the backgrounds of these records realization. The research, conducted by Critical School Psychology and Educational Ethnography theoretical-methodological parameters, is composed by three stages. The first stage was conducted in a First Grade classroom of a Brazilian Elementary public school, situated in a city in São Paulo State (southeastern Brazil); the second stage, conducted in the same school, took place in a Fourth Grade classroom; and the third stage embraces a set of French public school classrooms (equivalent to the first stage of Elementary Brazilian school). The first and the second stages lasted, each one, for one school year and were consisted of participative classroom observations and interviews with students and teachers. The French stage, that lasted about two and a half months, was consisted of participative observations in eight classrooms and interviews with teachers. Special attention was given to analysis of Fourth Grade related informations which had the objective of answering the following questions: Where is it recorded? Who is the recorder? What is recorded? How is it recorded? Why and for what is it recorded? The Fourth Grade context found was compared to the First Grade\'s, aiming to characterize processes and learnings, mediated by records compositions necessary to students for school culture insertion. The information gathered from French stage made it possible to identify how notebooks produced in other cultural contexts are different. This research reveals the background of students\' school productions, describing aspects that escape from recording possibility, but are fundamental to the understanding of those materials. The results found reveals that the psychologist willing to use notebooks and other school records as working tools must investigate, carefully, in which institutional, relational and situational conditions those documents were produced.

This survey, conducted within the Literacy and Literacy School Research Group (ALFALE), aims to analyze fourteen books planning a literacy teacher, used between 2000 and 2013, in order to identify continuities and changes in initial pedagogical practices literacy. The investigation is located in a perspective of Cultural History since, to this perspective, common objects can also keep records or features of an era that become rich historical sources, and that the study of the past, from such sources, enables us to reflect about our own reality and the reality of the world around us. In the history of education, the search for these files is being increasingly used in recent decades. This approach to question and analyze the "how to" consolidated a fruitful area for research as culture and knowledge are built within schools, and also how people absorb and produce this crop. To support this work, the authors were used as Le Goff (1996) Chartier (2000), Mignot (2008), Gvirtz (1999), among others. The school notebooks are documentary sources that generate information about the daily school and the teaching-learning process. Although there are different models and usage, notebooks are important documents that are interwoven with the history of education, can bring the richness of a story filed between pages that reveal the pedagogical practices of the teacher over time. We conduct research for the reconstruction of this process with an analysis of their sources and the holding of oral testimony by the teacher. There was also a look at notebooks and loose sheets of his students in an attempt to provide greater enrichment of data sources. The analysis was based on the following categories: or) paratextuals elements; b) Organizational structure of the planning; c) storytelling and / or reading stories; d) Interdisciplinarity as a methodological option; e) reading and writing activities; f) Work with different genres. The results show, first, the importance researched sources, the contract planning, showing how these records, you can read various aspects of school culture and thus offering us the opportunity to meet some of the pedagogical practice the authors of these manuscripts. On the other hand, proved that there were changes in the way work the mother tongue, and the teacher investigated awarded each year, more importance to the literacy process, understood by her as ownership of the alphabetic writing system, through enhanced the amount of tasks and work in an interdisciplinary manner, thus promoting literacy. According to her, these results were obtained with the training of teachers in the course of his career. Some constants were observed, but the changes were in greater quantity, considering the categories we choose toanalyze.

This dissertation, held in the Post-graduate Program in Education, at the Federal University of Pernambuco, at the core of Teacher Training and Pedagogical Practice, aims as an research object a cultural artifact that is part of the school culture and the construction of education: school notebooks. The notebooks are cultural artifacts of schooling, however in addition to its function in the learning of the classic disciplinary contents, it is involved in the actions of identity formation. The analysis presented in this argumentative text focused on the study of the discourse on gender and sexuality in school notebooks. The purpose of this research is to show how the school notebooks, with its aesthetics, its lessons, its usage guidelines, teach the kids how they should be and behave in relation to gender and sexual identities. In order to support our theoretical and methodological discussion, we endorse in authors associated with Cultural Studies, to the Cultural Pedagogy based on post-structuralist studies. Authors that problematize subjectivation processes of gender and sexuality as Michael Foucault, Judith Butler, Candy and John Scott and authors who problematize the relationship between school pedagogy, cultural pedagogy and the consumer society, for example, Stuart Hall, Zygmunt Bauman, Marisa Vorraber Costa and Tomas Tadeu Silva. In the process of the research, the approach for the study of school notebooks helped us having a better view of this cultural object, the school notebook: its history in the field of school culture, its features and functions. This theoretical and methodological framework was indispensable for the investigation of the school notebook, seen in this research as a cultural artifact. The study had as corpus 40 notebooks for children in the kindergaten II, 1st, 2nd, 4th grades of public and private schools of Pernambuco. Facing the analysis undertaken, we indicate elements that stand out and urge and challenge the kids on their gender and sexual identities: gender markers on images such as color, artifacts of daily life like ornaments, toys, children's representation with heroes of the media; the school notebook as a place of sexist advertising and consumerist; as auto interpretation spaces with performing actions. In this sense we can say that the analysis points out the notebooks as artifacts with power for the construction of gender and sexuality identity. The analysis shows how the notebooks are important and active in the construction of the subject on the basis of sexual orientation, ways to see the subject, positions occupied by each of us in life in society. The notebooks are still powerful curricular artifacts, made piece by piece to the production, maintenance, surveillance, looking forward to fit the subjects in certain places, conforming them in their positions that must be followed and played by everyone. The vanishing points in relation to gender stereotypes are less frequent which leads us to draw attention to the need of problematization of this theme in the training of tutors having as object the curricular artifacts.

Cadernos escolares na primeira série do ensino fundamental: funções e significados / Notebooks in the first grade of the Elementary school: functions and meanings

Santos, Anabela Almeida Costa e 20 June 2002 (has links)
This research aims to study the functions and meanings of the notebooks in the first grade of an Elementary Public school. The theoretical and methodological approach was based on an ethnographic perspective. The fieldwork was performed for one year when the researcher did participant observations in the classroom, meetings with the teacher and students and analyzed some student's notebooks. The research focused on the very beginning of notebooks utilization and the learning process relating to the use of this school material. We realized that the notebook is an important didactic instrument which is frequently used in the beginning of the literacy process. In the school context one could identify the functions attributed to the notebooks such as: foundation for developing school activities; record for activities and relationships; control of students, teacher and parents; communication between school and family. For the students, the notebooks have the meanings such as: material associated to copy activities; material which needs always to have a very good appearance; a material which involves knowledge which the majority of the students do not have the possibility of appropriating in this level of schooling; instruments for training, of which utility dwells more in the blank pages than in the registered contents. The offstage study of the notebooks constituted a fundamental element for understanding the information which is inside of these school materials which is produced by the students and teachers as a result of their daily effort. This study also reveals some conceptions for learning and teaching present in the focused schools.
