Dynamické generování uživatelských rozhraní

Šerý, Marcel January 2014 (has links)
This thesis deals with the creation of a complex platform for remote applications. Users will be able to connect to these remote applications with universal thin client. One thin client application will be able to control any remote application in this platform. This thesis will also include an analysis of existing systems having similar goals. In a practical part of the thesis I'll describe communication protocol and implementation in detail. The implementation output will be two applications: an application server and an example client application which will implement suggested communication protocol.

Open Source SIP Application Servers For IMS Applications: A Survey

Kumlin, Veronica January 2007 (has links)
In an IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) network there are Application Servers (ASs) which host and execute services. These are often SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) servers. The goal for this thesis was to evaluate a selection of open source SIP ASs to see which one was most suited for IMS service development. Ten different SIP ASs was found in an initial search. They were briefly reviewed and some of them were chosen as candidates for further investigation. The documentation of the chosen servers were thoroughly explored and evaluated; as was the installation process and how to deploy a service to them. Finally the servers were installed and a service was implemented and deployed to an IMS network. Unfortunately, I could not point out one of the ASs to be more suited than another for deploying an IMS service on. This was because they had different pros and cons and none of them were distinguishing in a way that made them superior to the other.

A Simple Throttling Concept for Multithreaded Application Servers

Stridh, Fredrik January 2009 (has links)
Multithreading is today a very common technology to achieve concurrency within software. Today there exists three commonly used threading strategies for multithreaded application servers. These are thread per client, thread per request and thread pool. Earlier studies has shown that the choice of threading strategy is not that important. Our measurements show that the choice of threading architecture becomes more important when the application comes under high load. We will in this study present a throttling concept which can give thread per client almost as good qualities as the thread pool strategy when it comes to performance. No architecture change is required. This concept has been evaluated on three types of hardware, ranging from 1 to 64 CPUs, using 6 alternatives loads and both in C and Java. We have also identified that there is a high correlation between average response times and the length of the run time queue. This can be used to construct a self tuning throttling algorithm that makes the introduction of the throttle concept even simpler, since it does require any configuring.

Servervirtualisering idag : En undersökning om servervirtualisering hos offentliga verksamheter i Sverige

Färlind, Filip, Ottosson, Kim January 2014 (has links)
At present, there’s no summary of how server virtualization is implemented and how it works in different companies in Sweden. This work will therefore, through a survey, try to answer the question: "How is server virtualization implemented by municipality and county councils in Sweden?" Our results show that server virtualization is well implemented by municipality and county councils in Sweden. The results are also very similar between these organizations. Finalized work provides different types of companies support in planning and implementation of server virtualization.

Datalagring : En uppsats om skiftet mellan datalagring lokalt och i molnet

Edholm, Sofia, Malm, Johanna January 2014 (has links)
Today’s information society brings big changes in how we gather information. During the last couple of years the amount of information we store has increased substantially. Techniques for gathering information develops fast, but the way we store information stays the same. This study looks in to cloud computing and if storing data in the cloud is a good alternative to local storage. The definition of cloud computing is vague, and this study attempts to give an account for what cloud computing is through theories and user definitions. Problems with the amount of increased data, and server techniques we use today are presented. The study confirms business advantages with storing data in the cloud and give clearance to that the cloud is working alternative to local storage.

A third generation object-oriented process model:roles and architectures in focus

Kivistö, K. (Kari) 21 November 2000 (has links)
Abstract This thesis examines and evaluates the Object-Oriented Client/Server (OOCS) model, a process model that can be used when IT organizations develop object-oriented client/server applications. In particular, it defines the roles in the development team and combines them into the process model. Furthermore, the model focuses on the client/server architecture, considering it explicitly. The model has been under construction for several years and it has been tested in a number of industrial projects. Feedback from practice has thus been an important source when the model has been evolving into its current form. Another source for evolution has been other process models and technical progress in this field. This thesis reveals the theoretical and practical aspects that have influenced the model's characteristics and developmnt. The object-oriented paradigm has been the driving force when creating the OOCS model. The first object-oriented development models were, however, both inadequate and contradictory to each other. The OOCS model utilizes the best practices from these early models. The model also defines artifacts to be delivered in each phase. The artifacts are synchronized with the Unified Modeling Language (UML), a new standard modeling notation. From the very beginning the OOCS model has included a strong client/server viewpoint, which is not stated so clearly in other object-oriented models. A three-tier division of the application (presentation, business logic, data management) can be found in each phase. This division has become crucial in recent years, when applications have been built on distributed architecture. The team-based roles included in the model are based on the work of a few other researchers, although this topic has not gained the importance it should have had. Namely, it is people that develop the application and their involvement in the process should be stated explicitly. The roles of the developers are closely connected to the OOCS process model via the concept of activities included in the model. The roles concentrate mainly on project members, but company-level aspects have also been considered. This thesis summarizes the work carried out in the last five years. It shows how the model has evolved in practice and how other models have contributed to it. The team-based OOCS model is in use in some IT organizations. The cases presented in this thesis illustrate how to adapt the model into specific organizational needs.

Collaborating queues : large service network and a limit order book

Yudovina, Elena January 2012 (has links)
We analyse the steady-state behaviour of two different models with collaborating queues: that is, models in which 'customers' can be served by many types of 'servers', and 'servers' can process many types of 'customers'. The first example is a large-scale service system, such as a call centre. Collaboration is the result of cross-trained staff attending to several different types of incoming calls. We first examine a load-balancing policy, which aims to keep servers in different pools equally busy. Although the policy behaves order-optimally over fixed time horizons, we show that the steady-state distribution may fail to be tight on the diffusion scale. That is, in a family of ever-larger networks whose arrival rates grow as O(r) (where r is a scaling parameter growing to infinity), the sequence of steady-state deviations from equilibrium scaled down by sqrt(r) is not tight. We then propose a different policy, for which we show that the sequence of invariant distributions is tight on the r (1/2+epsilon) scale, for any epsilon > 0. For this policy we conjecture that tightness holds on the diffusion scale as well. The second example models a limit order book, a pricing mechanism for a single-commodity market in which buyers (respectively sellers) are prepared to wait for the price to drop (respectively rise). We analyse the behaviour of a simplified model, in which the arrival events are independent of each other and the state of the limit order book. The system can be represented by a queueing model, with 'customers' and 'servers' corresponding to bids and asks; the roles of customers and servers are symmetric. We show that, with probability 1, the price interval breaks up into three regions. At small (respectively large) prices, only finitely many bid (respectively ask) orders ever get fulfilled, while in the middle region all orders eventually clear. We derive equations which define the boundaries between these regions, and solve them explicitly in the case of iid uniform arrivals to obtain numeric values of the thresholds. We derive a heuristic for the distribution of the highest bid (respectively lowest ask), and present simulation data confirming it.

Využití nástroje Informatica v datovém skladu a optimalizace ETL procesů / Usage of Informatica tools in a datawarehouse and optimalization of ETL processes

Adámek, Karel January 2009 (has links)
The graduation thesis is engaged in the problems of ETL development in terms of Business Intelligence solution. It analyses the wider portfolio of aplications supporting ETL development and offers the survey of its basic characteristics. There is a detail analysis of the pair of chosen instruments which utility is shown on the development of the real transformations. Then the advantages and possible risks of the transition on the higher edition of the product PowerCenter from Informatica company are being analysed too. The constituent of the thesis is engaged in optimalization procedure which is put into real operation of data warehouse and shows its benefit in term of computer time reduction The aim of the thesis is to show the detail look into the ETL instruments, formation of ETL transformations and not least the ways of optimalization of ETL transformations. The graduation thesis proposes to solve the problems in selection of convenient ETL instrument not only from the view of ETL developer in the shape of detailed comparison of the pair instrument usage but also from the view of management in the shape of general survey, basic characteristics and the comparison of wider porfolio of ETL instruments. In terms of detailed analysis the set Informatica PowerCenter should give us answers for the questions like: "What advantages does the upgrade of Informatica PowerCenter range 7 to range 8 bring?" or "What problems may that upgrade cause and how can we solve those problems? The part devoted to optimalization proposes to offer the outlook to the basic optimalization procedures inside the data warehouse and comparison of its contribution. In parallel with analytic part there is also proceeding the formation of practical part of the graduation thesis which consists in development of really used ETL transformations and in optimalization of selected ETL transformations of data warehouse. First the graduation thesis is concentrated on the analytic activity consisting in the products research which are on the top of ETL development. Then it is gathering the detailed knowledge of two instruments which is aplicated for the formation of ETL transformations The second analytic phase is concentrated on the optimalization procedures. The knowledge acquired in that phase is subsequently used in practice and the final analysis of those procedures and benefits is proceeding. The graduation thesis does not also miss out to partly outline the future development in the field of ETL.The main contribution consists in giving not only the comprehensive survey of ETL instruments but also in the detailed analysis of pros and cons of the pair of selected products. The thesis offered the answers to the questions asked in the outset connected with the transition to upper version of Power Center. The analysis of optimalization procedure enabled the optimalization of 29 ETL transformations and their high effectivity was proved too.
