Y company started in 1988 positioned to be the largest and the most advanced coated steel producer. Y company (includes the plant in China)Owned seven continuous hot-dup galvanizing lines , five continuous pre-painting lines¡A6 cold rolling mills and 2 pickling lines .Y company has become not only the biggest coated steel producer in Taiwan ,Mainland China and South East Asia , but also one of the 15th largest producers of coated steel products in the world. Y company is able to offer a wide range of finished products to meet the needs of our customers one-stop shopping need. Y company is a coated ¡V steel producer which produce hot¡Vdip galvanized coils and pre-painted coils by means of the manufacturing process of pickling ,cold rolling ,hot-dip galvanizing and pre-painting .On recent ten years ,the steel market changes sharply, but Y company keep growing continuously , the key factor is to establish the strategic alliance with F company to replace electroplating steel sheet with hot-dip galvanized in computer cases . This research is studying the experience story, which we have overcame a number of difficulties during the period developed the ¡§replacing electroplating steel sheet with hot-dip galvanized in computer cases ¡¨and ¡§developing environmentally- friendly steel ¡¨. it is a story that the strategic alliance strenghthen organization ¡Fand after organization empowerment ¡Ait made the relationship between the members of the strategic alliance more closely. This story is to show the difficulties and challenges what we face by means of the Narrative Inquiry and hope to achieve the next success for the next opportunity on the basis of meanings from this story .

The Impact of Off-balance Sheet Activities on Taiwan's Banks Performance: An application of ARCH-M Model

This paper investigates the influence of the shares of non-interest income and the diversification, which result from off-balance sheet activities, on the performance of banking in Taiwan. I also use ARCH-M model in this study. The sample period is from January 2000 to December 2011. I find that all sample banks and private banks do not benefit from off-balance sheet activities, but government banks benefit from off-balance sheet activities. In this paper, I also use CUSUM test to find the structural breakpoint and discuss the situation in accordance with it. The result shows that the structural breakpoint is at July 2002, which closes to the founded time of lots of financial holding companies. After the structural breakpoint, the positive impact of shares of non-interest income and diversification on the performance disappear.

The Corporate Value Relevance of Off-Balance-Sheet Financing

Since the financial markets keep developing, the way of off-balance-sheet financing weeds through the old to bring forth the new, Accounting information frequently cannot promptly and faithfully responds the real finance condition of a company. Those activities, such as operating leases, sale of receivables with the right of recourse, asset-backed securitization (ABS), joint ventures and investment in affiliates, finance subsidiaries, take-or-pay contracts, throughput arrangements, hedging activities, pensions and other employee benefits, have insufficient expression in financial reports that may let investors neglect the influence on the company behind these activities. This research namely wants to discuss how off-balance-sheet financing activities influence the value of the stockholder equity. Because the types of off-balance-sheet financing activities are many, and the correlative information obtains not easily, this research only chooses available information ¡§off-balance-sheet pensions financing¡¨ as the proxy variable of off-balance-sheet financing. It is found that, the equity book value and abnormal earnings as Ohlson (1995) says, have significant positive influence on stock price. It is also found that preceding-period off-balance-sheet pensions financing can be used to forecast current stock price, this may attribute to that investors only can obtain the preceding -period off-balance-sheet pensions financing, but unable to obtain current pensions information. Among the related theories that affect the funding policy, the findings suggest that: (1) Financial slack theory is tenable. (2) The debt covenant effect theory has not obtained the uniform conclusion. (3) Tax effect theory isn¡¦t supported.

A Study of the Structure of Financial Forecasts¡GA Case of G Company¡¦s Using Excel as A Tool

For the last half century, financial forecast has been undergone numerous discussions among AICPA, authority agencies, and experts. Generally, scholars and researchers use either general financial ratios or cash-flow ratios or both to predict if enterprises will bankrupt or fail. As a matter of fact, there is no concurrent conclusion as for which one is better. Some believe that the former is more accurate than the latter, while some claim that it is the vice versa. Still, some assert that it is more accurate to use them both, and some even believe that cash forecast sheet is the most effective. Usually, it has been some time since financial forecast was submitted to board of directors for approval prior to fiscal year, and moreover, some unpredictable information might occur during fiscal year given the information asymmetry. Therefore, the most important is to find funds gap as early as possible so as to respond quickly. From the perspective of an enterprise insider, the researcher regards financial forecast as a necessary tool for professional managers to cope with current information, utilizing models conforming to business¡¦s needs to introduce various situations for predicting possible funds gap in the near future. The information for the development of financial forecasts is highly complex, involving all departments in a company. Using Excel as a tool and a case company as a basis, this study developed a model which could be used for predictions with several single variables or multi-variables. Also, the validity of this model was verified by virtue of about twenty times of simulation tests. II Given that this case company, which engages in basic metal industry, is small and middle business, the model developed based on this case can only be used by similar businesses. This model which employs a MIS approach and is developed based on financial and accounting procedures often acquires inputs of enormous amount of time, manpower, and resources to become an effective tool for planning and management. Due to the limited resources and talented, it takes researcher a lot of efforts to successfully establish this model. Moreover, the operation of this model which uses Excel as a tool is not as easy as that of other systems written with programming languages. Finally, because the case company is small and middle business which has possible crises different from that of large companies, the prediction the model can make is limited. This study is mainly concerned with a system model which is not able to be shown in the text. Therefore, it is suggested to first recognize the framework of this study, and then pair with related tables to better understand this study.

Blank optimization in sheet metal forming using finite element simulation

The present study aims to determine the optimum blank shape design for the deep drawing of arbitrary shaped cups with a uniform trimming allowance at the flange i.e. cups without ears. This earing defect is caused by planar anisotropy in the sheet and the friction between the blank and punch/die. In this research, a new method for optimum blank shape design using finite element analysis has been proposed. Explicit non-linear finite element (FE) code LSDYNA is used to simulate the deep drawing process. FE models are constructed incorporating the exact physical conditions of the process such as tooling design like die profile radius, punch corner radius, etc., material used, coefficient of friction, punch speed and blank holder force. The material used for the analysis is mild steel. A quantitative error metric called shape error is defined to measure the amount of earing and to compare the deformed shape and target shape set for each stage of the analysis. This error metric is then used to decide whether the blank needs to be modified or not. The cycle is repeated until the converged results are achieved. This iterative design process leads to optimal blank shape. In order to verify the proposed method, examples of square cup and cylindrical cup have been investigated. In every case converged results are achieved after a few iterations. So through the investigation the proposed systematic method of optimal blank design is found to be very effective in the deep drawing process and can be further applied to other stamping applications.

Influence of primary precipitate shape, size volume fraction and distribution in PM tool steels on galling resistance / Påverkan av primära karbiders storlek, volymfraktion och distribution i PM verktygsståls motstånd mot galling

In sheet metal forming (SMF), the major failure reason is galling. Galling is a process of different wear stages that leads to destruction of both the forming tool and the sheet metal working piece and is, because of that, of big economic importance for the SMF industries. Therefore, investigations and researches about how tool steels microstructure affect the tool steels galling resistance is of high priority. In the present work, different carbide properties were studied to find out how their properties affected the tool materials galling resistance. The investigated carbide properties were: Shape and size of the carbides   Carbide volume fraction Carbide distribution in the microstructure The investigation included three tools, all made of the PM tool steel S390, that were heattreated differently in order to achieve different carbide properties but still maintain the same hardness. The tools were galling tested in a slider-on-flat-surface (SOFS) tribometer to determine their galling resistances. In a scanning surface electron microscope (SEM) the tools galling marks were analyzed to find explanations for the SOFS tribometer results and the connection to the tools different carbide properties.  The investigations most galling resistant tool was the tool that had the microstructure with largest carbides which were distributed at grain boundaries and the second highest carbide volume fraction among the investigated tools.

The designer can use results obtained from this paper and estimate outlay of newly designed product in early design stage. Scientific novelty of the work In this paper method of mathemamatical statistics was used and firstly created classificator of sheet steel products on purpose to estimate outlay of manufacturing.

In-plane plane strain testing to evaluate formability of sheet steels used in tubular products

In order to effectively and efficiently hydroform new automotive components, the formability of new tubular steels must be evaluated. Standard forming limit diagrams have been used for decades to evaluate and predict the formability of sheet steel formed along linear strain paths. However, tube hydroforming can present a problem since the pre-bending stage used in many hydroforming operations causes multiple non-linear strain paths. This thesis has modified a formability test method that deforms small-scale sheet steel samples in a single plane. The sample geometries were designed such that the strain paths achieved at the center of the samples were very near the plane strain condition. The four steels chosen for this study were: a deep drawing quality (DDQ), a high strength low alloy (HSLA) and two dual phase steels (DP600 and DP780). The plane strain formability for each of the four steels was tested in both the rolling and transverse directions. Three objective criteria were employed to evaluate and directly compare the formability of the four steels tested: difference in strain, difference in strain rate and local necking. The DDQ steel showed the highest formability followed in order by the HSLA, DP600 and DP780 steels. The repeatability in determining the forming limit strains using the difference in strain, the difference in strain rate and the local necking criteria for a 95% confidence interval was ± 1.5%, ± 1.2% and ± 3.2% engineering strain, respectively. The forming limit data collected for this thesis has been compared to results from full-scale tube hydroforming operations and free expansion tube burst tests carried out by researchers at the University of Waterloo on the same four materials. It was found that local necking results could be used to predict failure of hydroformed HSLA steel tubes with low levels of end-feed. However, this same method could only predict the failure of hydroformed DP600 steel tubes at higher levels of end-feed.
