Analyzing 18th Century Lifeways of Anza Expedition Members in Northwestern Sinaloa & Southwestern Sonora Mexico

Stoffle, Richard W., Dobyns, Henry F., Medwied-Savage, Jessica L., Madril, James B., Acosta, Hector, Beck, Katie, Dukes, Phillip 31 March 2011 (has links)
This report was assembled by a team at the University of Arizona to provide ethnographic and ethnohistorical information to interpret and define preexisting lifeways of the people who settled San Francisco. These founders were selected, organized, educated, and guided to San Francisco by Juan Bautista de Anza (Anza). This study is especially focused on why Anza selected potential founders, why founders would have gone on this settlement journey, and what lifeways the founders would have carried with them—mostly in their heads.

Poesia sonora, paradigma e sintagma : entre s-códigos e elocuções

Filho, Luís Carlos Morais January 2017 (has links)
Paradigma. Sintagma. Elocução. S-código. / Abstract: Through this dissertation we intend to develop compositional thinking applied to sound poetry. At first, there is a brief historical review that seeks to describe the course and evolution of this poetic form throughout the twentieth century. Afterwards, there is a revision that aims to expose and contrast the ideas of some of the leading researchers in the field of poetic communication, such as Roman Jakobson, Décio Pignatari, Umberto Eco and Paul Zumthor. In a third moment, we try to identify the paradigmatic and syntagmatic possibilities related to sound poetry; In the paradigmatic axis are situated reflections on utterance, sound gestures and spatial gestures; In the syntagmatic axis, we try to develop the hypothesis of s-code replication between messages, generating informational intertexts. At the end, there is a descriptive memorial of the compositional processes of the poems Fugata em direção a si mesmo I and II, Democracia?, Não há política que seja econômica and Crise. Keywords: Sound poetry. Paradigm. Syntagm. Utterance. S-code.
