Agricultural production and food security in Ghana

The aim of the work is to assess the level of agricultural production and food security in Ghana. The methodology used for the work was through the use of qualitative analysis of various researchers. Secondary data was predominantly used as a result of careful applying reasonable data simulation techniques. This work was strictly descriptive in nature. The results noted are numerous, to mention a few, the decline in agriculture labor force which is adversely affecting the country in absolute level terms and relative importance. It is noticed that agriculture production is not having an impact on food security problems. Irrigation facilities for farming is almost nonconformer to agricultural production, even though there is progress in increase of production. The government needs to balance labor flows within the country. Agricultural Production can be improved through the enhancing and extending the provision of external farming education, fertilizer usage being key to improving agriculture production on yield. In the long term, there is the need on expounding on agrarian politics. The use or adaptation to a good blend of both protectionist and liberal trade policies could be advantageous to Ghana, since they are not a price changer/maker in the globe.

The diploma thesis deals with eating habits in Benešov Region in 50's and 60's of 20th Century. The thesis analyses results of a field research, which was realized by using kvalitative methods. The Results were compared with theoretical basis of contemporary and earlier literature and sources. The aim of this thesis was to illustrate situation in a small town and compare it with the countryside. Ordinary food was compared with festive food and its changes in consequence of migration. The root of the thesis was description of staple food, its gaining (shopping, self-suppling, …), processing and frequency of its consumption.

Celiakie a problematika stravování žáků základních škol / Celiac disease and issues of kid's eating habits in school canteens

This thesis is focused on catering for pupils with celiac disease in school canteens. The first part, the theoretical one, deals with the disease itself; it gives basic information about the disease, its history, main symptoms, anatomy of healthy digestive system, and the most common health problems occurring when suffering from celiac disease. At the end of the theoretical part diagnosis of the disease is described as well as suitable and unsuitable diet food for celiac and food legislation. The practical part is a survey focused on catering for pupils with celiac disease at selected elementary schools. The survey was conducted in two regions in Valašské Meziříčí and in Prague. In the final part of my thesis special gluten-free menus for schools are suggested. The pedagogical outcome of my thesis is a lecture on celiac disease which can be held at elementary school s to help pupils find out basic information about this disease.

Title: Designing eating plans for women and men suffering from overweight. Objectives: Show an importance of lifestyle changes, a modification of diet habits and an inclusion of physical activities in overweight or obesity therapy. Find which aspects made positive influence to the state. Methods: The study selected five women and five men suffering from overweight. None of them did not operate or operate professionally or competitively any sports. Selected men and women would like to change your lifestyle and this study they had to be developed. I put probands and their questions about their past activities, health and relationship with food. In addition, I measured using bioelectrical impedance and tailoring meter. The last parameter that interested me was the weight, which I measured using scales. Based on all the identified model parameters was compiled weekly individual eating plan and recommended physical activity. The study lasted six months, during which I attended probands and continuously measured them. After 180 days was made final assessment of the impact of changes in eating habits to influence overweight and obesity. RAW food - živá strava

The aim of the diploma thesis „Raw food – raw food“ was study and describe a living diet. Describe the influence on human body and propose a suitable recipe a raw durable product. At the department of food technology, the faculty of Agronomy of Mendel university in Brno were made eight recipes of raw bars without heat, with a dates and cocoa base. For each recipe was added the third feedstock. Strength, water content, sensory evaluation and final nutritional value were evaluated. I was found that the most sensibly acceptable formulation contained coconut in addition base. Conversely, the least acceptable formulation contained a banana in addition to the base. The highest nutritional value was the bar with addition whit coconut. Next were made four dried raw bars where the sensory evaluation was statistically different among the professional public, who are interested in raw food and the non-professional public.

Sledování vybraných mikrobiologických ukazatelů u rostlinného produktu v průběhu skladování

The experimental part of the thesis deals with production and monitoring of microbiological indicators in acidified plant products during their storage. Four raw materials were used for production: soy, almond, cashew and poppy. In microbiological analysis, the total number the following microorganisms were monitored - lactic acid bacteria, coliform bacteria, yeast together and mold. It has been found that the number of microorganisms monitored increases with increasing shelf life. The results from the microbiological analysis pointed out that all monitored samples are harmless to health for one week of storage. From a nutritional point of view, the highest fat content was determined in the tonsil sample, the highest total nitrogen content was found in the soy sample. The almond sample received the best impression by general public. The sensory analysis performed by trained people showed no statistically significant difference between the evaluated samples (p < 0,05).

The diploma thesis deals with the attitude of students to a healthy diet with the possibility of their own free choice. It represents possible justified risks arising from insufficiently timely information. Most mental and health threats occur in old school age. For this reason, my part is focused on the younger school age, where it is necessary to apply primary prevention against these threats. The aim of my diploma thesis is to provide information about the level of students' knowledge of healthy eating, taking into account the biological, psychological and social aspects by which they are affected. I carried out the research at the 1st stage of a Prague primary school. Quantitative questionnaire surveys, consisting of closed and open questions, were used as research methods. The results provide a comprehensive picture of students' attitudes and levels of awareness of healthy eating with regard to their own eating habits before the end of primary school and before transfer to secondary school or leaving for multi-year grammar schools. The research revealed an opportunity to influence these views at a time when they are being formed and strengthened at a younger school age by a separate school subject. En jämförelse av lägesosäkerhet mellan smartphones och nätverks-RTK : En studie baserad på livetracking med applikationen Strava / A comparison of the positional accuracy between smartphones and NRTK-positioning : A study based on livetracking with the application Strava

The usability of GNSS-positioning with smartphones has increased because of smartphones being a cost-effective alternative compared to more advanced receivers. Previous studies have achieved position uncertainty that varied between 3–20 m with different applications in smartphones. No studies have been found that evaluates the positional uncertainty in data collected with the Strava application. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate positional uncertainty in Strava for two different smartphones being compared in two terrain types, forested and open terrain. In the study, the GNSS receiver Trimble R12 is used to measure reference data as it can achieve lower uncertainty than smartphones. The two tested smartphones (iPhone 8 and iPhone 12 Pro) are mounted on the bicycle handlebar from where the measurement is performed. The position uncertainty is evaluated by calculating the root mean square deviation (RMS). The result of the study shows that the positional uncertainty in the iPhone 12 Pro is lower compared to the iPhone 8, regardless of terrain and speed. For all measurements, the iPhone 12 Pro achieves a total root mean square deviation of 1.5 m, while the iPhone 8 achieves 7.5 m. Factors that may have affected the uncertainty in measurements are satellite geometry, variations in the ionosphere and troposphere and errors during measurement. The iPhone 8 should not be used for collecting data for new trails due to the high deviations. The iPhone 12 Pro is considered credible with low deviations throughout where the positional uncertainty between open and forested terrain differs by 0.2 m. Furthermore, it would be of interest to investigate how the iPhone 12 Pro relates to newer hardware. / Trots att positioneringsosäkerheten är högre i smartphones än i avancerade mottagare har användbarheten ökat för GNSS-positionering med smartphones till följd av det kostnadseffektiva alternativ som det innebär. Intresset för att skapa ledsystem med data insamlade med livetracking i smartphones har ökat. Uppnådd lägesosäkerhet i tidigare studier har varierat mellan 3–20 m med olika applikationer i smartphones. Det har inte påträffats studier som utvärderat lägesosäkerheten i data insamlade med applikationen Strava och därför är det av intresse att genomföra en sådan. Syftet med studien var att undersöka vilken lägesosäkerhet som kan uppnås i terräng via livetracking med smartphones med applikationen Strava. För att uppnå syftet undersöktes lägesosäkerheten med två smartphones i skogbevuxen och öppen terräng. I studien genomfördes också en begränsad undersökning av hastighetens inverkan på lägesosäkerheten i öppen terräng. För att kunna förlita sig på data behöver lägesosäkerheten i smartphones kontrolleras mot referensdata inmätt med en metod som kan erhålla lägre osäkerhet. I studien användes GNSS-mottagaren Trimble R12 för inmätning av referensdata. En iPhone 8 och en iPhone 12 Pro monterades på ett cykelstyre där mätning med Strava genomfördes cyklandes på 100 m långa sträckor i öppen och skogbevuxen terräng. Lägesosäkerheten utvärderades genom att beräkna kvadratisk medelavvikelse (RMS).  Resultatet visar att lägesosäkerheten med iPhone 12 Pro är lägre i jämförelse med iPhone 8 oberoende av terräng och hastighet. För samtliga mätningar uppnår iPhone 12 Pro en total kvadratisk medelavvikelse på 1,5 m medan iPhone 8 uppnår 7,5 m. Faktorer som kan ha påverkat osäkerheten i mätningar är satellitgeometri, variationer i jonosfären och troposfären samt fel under mätning. iPhone 8 bör inte användas för insamling av data till nya leder på grund av de höga avvikelserna. iPhone 12 Pro anses trovärdig med genomgående låga avvikelser, där lägesosäkerheten mellan öppen och skogbevuxen terräng skiljer 0,2 m. Vidare skulle det vara av intresse att undersöka hur iPhone 12 Pro förhåller sig till nyare hårdvara.

Problematika výživy u dětí v rámci školní docházky je stále aktuální a upoutává pozornost. Obezita u dětí se stále zvyšuje. Je mnoho publikací na problematiku obezity u dětí a s tím spojený vyšší počet úrazů a vyšší problematika pozornosti (ADHD, ADD a jiné poruchy). V České republice se stále více vyskytují děti s obezitou, nezdravým životním stylem, který doprovází i nedostatek pohybu. Tyto faktory vedou ke zhoršení fyziologických funkcí, zatěžování statického a pohybového aparátu člověka a v neposlední řadě ke špatnému psychickému stavu jedince. V diplomové práci se zaměřím na stravování při školní docházce a možné stravovací návyky, které mohou přispívat k dětské obezitě, častějším zdravotním problémům. Pomocí anketního šetření práce zjistím, jak se stravují žáci základních škol na Slánsku (Základní škola Slaný, Komenského náměstí 618 a Základní škola Smečno, okres Kladno) při pobytu ve škole.
