Integrated Systems Management, known as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), are developed and maintained by IFES (Federal Institutions of Higher Education) for the performance of activities that concern them, in addition, its scope allows obtaining management information becoming valuable strategic resource. Recent guidelines of the supervisory bodies and government control, aimed at increasing efficiency, higher productivity of public administration, and cost reduction have led IFES to adopt IT governance policies. ERP systems are usually very comprehensive and expensive, so their costs should be measured, not only acquisition costs, but mainly maintenance and support costs. In this regard, in order to determine the cost elements to measure the costs of maintenance and support in managing ERP systems, there was motivation for this research on the TCO methodology (Total Cost of Ownership) supported by ITIL framework processes (Information Technology Infrastructure Library). This work, descriptive, identified and listed from the literature, the most obvious cost elements in TCO and ITIL. Then a web questionnaire was administered, along with experts in ERP systems management of IFES, aiming to map their perception of relevance of these cost factors listed in the survey. The results show the cost elements ordered by relevance and frequency that the maintenance and ERP systems support and the expected contribution is to facilitate the measurement of these costs.

Combinations of energy saving measures in pneumatics

Boyko, Vladimir, Weber, Jürgen 26 June 2020 (has links)
Within a production machine, various electromechanical and pneumatic structures can be used for drive tasks. As these drive technologies can often replace each other, the energy efficiency, performance and TCO of pneumatic drives must be permanently enhanced to remain competitive. There is a large number of known measures for the reducing their energy consumption, e.g. minimizing of filling volumes, energy saving circuits etc. However, these measures are mainly considered separately and the possible overall energy saving effect resulting from their combination is rarely taken into account. The main goal of this paper is therefore to explore the possible combinations of pneumatic energy saving measures and their cumulative saving effect. Due to the fact that some measures are mutually exclusive (e.g. a general pressure reduction in properly sized drive), each combination should be considered separately. To evaluate their efficiency plausibly, a comprehensive assessment is required that contains both the total cost of ownership analysis (TCO) and a mechanical properties assessment. The presented comprehensive approach of the task analysis can serve as example of how an optimal drive configuration for the specific task can be found, thus creating a basis for solving constructive challenges in designing of pneumatic automation systems.

RF überlagertes DC-Sputtern von transparenten leitfähigen Oxiden

Heimke, Bruno 19 March 2013 (has links)

Capital and Operational Cost Evaluation of Selected Powertrain configurations in Heavy-duty Fuel Cell Trucks / Kapital och driftskostnadsutvärdering av utvalda drivlinakonfigurationer i tunga bränslecellstruckar

Vivek Venkatesh, Shenoy January 2021 (has links)
The automotive and heavy-duty trucking industries are heading towards research and development of alternative powertrain solutions to meet the United Nations sustainability goals and cleaner solutions to aid climate change actions. This thesis project aligns with the vision of finding greener and sustainable modes of transport in the heavy long haulage trucking industry. This project aims to find and develop a method for creating drive cycles, getting the vehicular power requirements to drive on these selected routes and finally calculating the TCO of a vehicle. The scripts for these mentioned steps are developed in MATLAB. The approach used in this work could help both the vehicle manufacturer and the vehicle operator to predict or cater to upcoming customer demand on, in our case, routes pan EU, to receive information about energy, power and vehicular configuration needed to fulfil the mission, and also, optimize the powertrain configuration in collaboration with a parallel thesis work done here at Scania, and finally calculate a somewhat simplified TCO of the vehicle.  In this work, two different driving conditions has been used; summer or winter, and two different payload conditions, as well as two types of vehicle powertrains; FCEV and BEV. Finally, a comparison regarding TCO for FCEV and BEV has been done.

High Performance Drivetrains for Powerful Mobile Machines

Schumacher, Andreas, Rahmfeld, Robert, Laffrenzen, Heiko 03 May 2016 (has links) (PDF)
This paper discusses the current and future drivetrain perspectives of powerful mobile machines, especially in regards to TCO and drive performance. For the TCO-impact, the power losses of the components plays a big role and, if they are designed for efficiency, they have a significant and measurable influence. From the braking function point of view, this paper demonstrates not only the advantages of a valve-based over a control algorithm based solution, but also its innovative development directions towards a more sophisticated engine speed controller with optimized heat conversion into the oil. Also for the drivetrain subsystems, innovative components are discussed, like the hybrid control, combining the benefits of a non-feedback and a displacement control in one single assembly, or the variable charge system for further reduced energy consumption of the overall drivetrain.

Doping Efficiency and Limits in Wurtzite (Mg,Zn)O Alloys

Mavlonov, Abdurashid 25 November 2016 (has links) (PDF)
In this thesis, the structural, optical, and electrical properties of wurtzite MgxZn1-xO:Al and MgxZn1-xO:Ga thin films have been investigated in dependence on Mg and dopant concentration. Among the transparent conductive oxides (TCOs), ZnO based compounds have gained renewed interest as a transparent electrode for large scale applications such as defroster windows, at panel displays, touch screens, and thin film solar cells due to low material and processing cost, non-toxicity, and suitable physical properties. In general, these applications require transparent electrodes with lowest possible resistivity of rho < 10^-3 Ohmcm and lower [1]. Recently, it has been reported that Ga and Al doped ZnO thin films can be deposited with respective resistivity of 5x10^-5 Ohmcm [2] and 3 x10^-5 Ohmcm [3] which are similar to the data obtained for other practical TCOs, i.e. the resistivity of about 4x 10^-5 Ohmcm for Sn doped In2O3 (ITO) thin films [4]. Moreover, the bandgap of ZnO can be increased by alloying with Mg offering band alignment between transparent electrode and active (or buffer) layer of the device, e.g. Cu(In,Ga)Se2 solar cells [5]. The tunable bandgap of these transparent electrodes can further increase the efficiency of the devices by avoiding energy losses in the interface region of the layers. From this point of view, this work has been aimed to investigate the doping efficiency and limits in transparent conductive (Mg,Zn)O alloys. For this purpose, the samples investigated in this work have been grown by pulsed-laser deposition (PLD) using a novel, continuous composition spread method (CCS). In general, this method allows to grow thin films with lateral composition gradient(s) [6, 7]. All MgxZn1-xO:Al and MgxZn1-xO:Ga thin films have been deposited on 2-inch in diameter glass, c- or r-plane sapphire substrates using threefold segmented PLD targets in order to grow thin films with two perpendicular, lateral composition gradients, i.e. the Mg composition is varied in one direction whereas the Al/Ga concentration is varied in a perpendicular direction [7, 8]. In order to investigate the influence of the temperature, samples grown at different substrate temperatures in the range of 25 to 600 C were investigated. The optical and electrical measurements have been carried out on (5x 5)mm^2 samples that were cut from the CCS wafers along the respective composition gradients, i.e. Mg and Al/Ga contents. Subsequently, physical properties of thin films have been analyzed for a large range of Al/Ga content between 0.5 and 7 at.%, which corresponds to doping concentrations between 2x 10^20 and 3x 10^21 cm^-3, for different Mg contents x(Mg) ranging from 0.01 to 0.1. It has been found that practically the limiting the dopant concentrations is about 2 x10^21 cm^-3. Further, the electrical data suggests, that the compensating intrinsic defect is doubly chargeable hinting to the zinc vacancy (V_Zn) as microscopic origin. Increasing the dopant concentration above 2 x10^21 cm^-3 leads to a degradation of electrical and structural properties [8]. Further, the influence of growth and annealing temperatures on structural, electrical and optical properties of the films has been studied. For that purpose, Al and Ga doped (2.5 at.% = 1x10^21 cm^-3) Mg0.05Zn0.95O thin films have been chosen from CCS samples grown at T_g = (25 - 600) C . For both doping series, the samples grown at higher temperatures exhibit better crystalline quality compared to the samples grown at lower growth temperatures. As a result, samples grown at higher temperatures reveal higher Hall mobility. For the Al-doping series, the highest free charge carrier density of n = 8.2x 10^20 cm^-3 was obtained for an Mg0.05Zn0.95O:Al thin film grown at 200 C, with corresponding Hall mobility of mu = 13.3 cm^2/Vs, a resistivity of rho = 5.7x10^-4 Ohmcm, and optical bandgap of E_g = 3.8 eV. Interestingly, the free charge carrier density of n = (5 - 8) x 10^20 cm^-3 for samples grown with T_g > 300 C is clearly higher than the value of n = 1.25 x 10^20 cm^-3 that was obtained for the high temperature grown sample, i.e. at T_g = 600 C. Furthermore, for all T_g, Al-doped films have a higher doping efficiency than the Ga-doped counterparts. In order to look deeper into the microscopic origin of this behavior, the samples were post-annealed in vacuum at 400 C. Experimental results showed that the free charge carrier density of Al-doped samples first decreased and saturated afterward with increasing annealing time. On the other hand, the free charge carrier density of the Ga-doped samples first slightly increased and saturated with increasing annealing time. For both doping series, the saturation value of n ~ 1 x 10^20 cm^-3 was very close to the data that has been observed for (i) high temperature grown samples and (ii) the solubility limit of Al in ZnO of 0.3 at.% = 1.2x 10^20 cm^-3, that has been determined by Shirouzu et al. for high temperature grown (T_g > 600 C) Al-doped ZnO [9]. Correspondingly, the optical bandgap also changed, i.e. increased (decreased) for Al- (Ga-) doping series, and approached a constant value of 3.5 0 +- 0.1 eV which is explained by generation of acceptor-like compensating defects, and the solubility limit of the dopants. From XRD data, no secondary phases were found for as-grown and post-annealed films. However, the slight improvement of crystalline quality has been observed on post-annealed samples. Further, it has been shown that the growth and annealing temperatures are important as they strongly affect the metastable state of the solid solution that samples grown at low temperature represent. The low solubility limit of the dopants, i.e. 0.3 at.% for Al in ZnO under equilibrium condition, can be increased by preparing samples by non-equilibrium growth techniques [10]. This is also consistent with experimental results of this work that Al- as well as Ga-doped metastable ZnO and (Mg,Zn)O thin films can be prepared with highest possible doping efficiency for the dopant concentration up to 2.5 at.% when growth or annealing temperatures below 400 C are used.

Investigation of doped ZnO by Molecular Beam Epitaxy for n- and p-type Conductivity

Liu, Huiyong 01 January 2012 (has links)
This dissertation presents an investigation of the properties, especially the electrical properties, of doped ZnO films grown by plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) under different conditions. The interest in investigating ZnO films is motivated by the potential of ZnO to replace the currently dominant ITO in industries as n-type transparent electrodes and the difficulty in achieving reliable and reproducible p-type ZnO. On the one hand, n-type ZnO heavily doped with Al or Ga (AZO or GZO) is the most promising to replace ITO due to the low cost, abundant material resources, non-toxicity , high conductivity, and high transparency. On the other hand, ZnO doped with a large-size-mismatched element of Sb (SZO) or co-doped with N and Te exhibits the possibility of achieving p-type ZnO. In this dissertation, the effects of MBE growth parameters on the properties of GZO have been investigated in detail. The ratio of oxygen to metal (Zn+Ga) was found to be critical in affecting the structural, electrical, and optical properties of GZO layers as revealed by x-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Hall measurement, photoluminescence (PL), and transmittance measurements. Highly conductive (~2×10-4 Ω-cm) and transparent GZO films (> 90% in the visible spectral range) were achieved by MBE under metal-rich conditions (reactive oxygen to incorporated Zn ratio < 1). The highly conductive and transparent GZO layers grown under optimized conditions were applied as p-side transparent electrodes in InGaN-LEDs, which exhibited many advantages over the traditional thin semi-transparent Ni/Au electrodes. The surface morphologies of GaN templates were demonstrated to be important in affecting the structural and electrical properties of GZO layers. In those highly conductive and transparent GZO layers with high-quality crystalline structures, studies revealed ionized impurity scattering being the dominant mechanism limiting the mobility in the temperature range of 15-330 K, while polar optical phonon scattering being the mechanism responsible for the temperature-dependence for T>150 K. The majority Sb ions were found to reside on Zn sites instead of O sites for lower Sb concentrations (~0.1 at.%), which can lead to a high electron concentration of above 1019 cm-3 along with a high electron mobility of 110 cm2/V-s at room temperature. The reduction in electron concentration and mobility for higher Sb concentrations (~1 at.%) was caused by the deterioration of the crystalline quality. ZnO co-doped with N and Te was also studied and the advantages of the co-doping technique and problems in achieving p-type conductivity are discussed.

Exploring the Critical Factors for the adoption of Enterprise Cloud Computing

Hsu, Chen-hou 12 August 2011 (has links)
With advances in information technology, various cloud computing related research and development has become a hot trend. Except the vast amount of studies and reports appearing in local magazines and newspapers, government agencies have also set up corresponding R & D projects. However, most of these studies focus on the infrastructure or platform level of the cloud. For example, the projects for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) include the Cloud Computing Center for Mobile Application at Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), the Cloud Service and Technology Center at Information Industry Institute (III) and the already launched ¡§hiCloud¡¨ at Chunghwa Telecom Corporation. In the business side, there is TCloud Computing that does the development of both "Infrastructure" and "Platform as a Service" (PaaS). As to Software as a Service (SaaS) related research, III has gathered 10 domestic companies to participate the co-operation plans for education cloud, manufacture cloud, ¡K and practice cloud, a total of nine cloud services. However, they are all in the early stages without much success stories or usages. The study of this thesis is angled toward business needs, from the point of resource-based analysis to see how a firm will be affected if introduction of SaaS to business. In particular, we will study this subject from four dimensions, which are the competitiveness of enterprises, IT outsourcing strategy, cost structure analysis and data security technology, to identify the possible critical factors for the introduction for cloud computing services. As most people are perceived, cloud computing has a comparative advantage of cost saving over traditional approach.

Synthèse de Cuprates de Strontium (SrCu2O) par MOCVD comme couche mince d'oxyde transparent conducteur de type P / Synthesis of Strontium Cuprate (SrCu2O) by MOCVD as a P-type Transparent Conducting Oxide Thin Film

Khan, Afzal 13 January 2011 (has links)
Transparent conducting oxides (TCOs) as transparent electrodes in the form of thin film are used in a large number of applications such as solar cells, liquid crystal displays, touch screen etc. However, these technological applications of TCOs are still limited because of the availability of only n-type TCOs. For diverse technological applications synthesis of efficient p-type TCOs is of utmost importance. In p-type TCO category, copper oxides of delafossite structure (ACuO2) or SrCu202 structure show promising opto-electrical properties. In this PhD research work, MOCVD (Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition) technique has been used for depositing thin films of SrCu2O2. However, pure and crystalline phase of SrCu2O2 was achieved after some annealing steps under oxygen and then under argon or only in nitrogen, with rapid heating and cooling rate. The measured electrical and optical properties are of the same order reported in various journals.
