Cruz, Cláudia Alencar Lopes 24 November 2011 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 CLAUDIA ALENCAR LOPES CRUZ.pdf: 999060 bytes, checksum: 69d10487f53e314510d50c360f65d53b (MD5) Previous issue date: 2011-11-24 / The research presents an analysis of power relations within the Early Childhood Education of Ribeirão Pires, focused on the work of teachers and non-Educators Teaching Child Development from two schools located in two distinct regions: one in the central region and the other in a village away from the center. The main focus is the conflict between these two groups of professionals, a secondary and complementary are the malfunctions that contribute to the existence of conflict between groups. The hypothesis that guides the research is that, not educators-teachers, while veteran group, relies on the old, asserting itself through its tacit and empirical knowledge, and PDI, in turn, rely on titration/diploma. The survey was conducted through interviews and observation at schools, aimed to understand the differences between the established groups of educators and teachers, but above all, understand the way that both express the power relations in space and time in school. The research required as a base, three analytical frameworks: Norbert Elias (2000), which deals with power relations; the Study of the Sociology of Deviance Becker (2008) and Erving Goffman's Stigma (1891). From the three authors of the study was observed within the power relations between groups of educators and teachers, some trends and collective provisions, such as assertion of superiority by tradition, affirmation of superiority of securities, inclinations stigmatization, feelings of victimization and low institutional bureaucracy, we can see properly, with respect to the secondary focus of the research, studied in schools The presence of a low level of institutional bureaucracy, which helps to stimulate faculty conflicts between groups analyzed. The research could contribute to the debate around issues related to the mode Childhood Education and their agents, such as it takes shape in Brazil.

Fernanda Griz de Góes Cavalcanti 06 July 2007 (has links)
This study cares about the analysis of the speech, manifest by the Brazilian educators, in the context of the National Movement by the educators Formation which is unchained in educational political scenery of the country, into the climate of the political pro opening actions, at the end of 70s. Comprehending the historical paper that the action occupies in the current scenery of the Brazilian education, it arouse the interest of trying to explain and evaluate critically, the production processes, circulation and consumption of the senses bound to those debates, through the analysis of the speech of their protagonists. In a first approach, we analyzed educators speech boarding them as part of the social practice, inserted in the context of the Action and the wider Brazilian society, when its participants start to act at the double sense of submitting themselves to determinations of context and agents of the production actions, circulation and consumptions of the texts. We took as corpus of the analysis one of the main flags of the movement the matter of the national common base that crosses the entire trajectory of the discussion in the investigated period 1983 to 2004. The research was accomplished through the referring data collection to the content expressed on the matter, in the final documents from the National Encounters promoted by the Movement, in their different phases. For materialization of the analysis, we were supported, principally, in the studies on the analysis of the speech AD, from the French school on the critical perspective of the analysis of speech ACD, with the dialogic conception of the language, according the formulation of Bakhtin, as convergence and expression dot of some studies about this area in the field of the language. The study, reveals that the examined discursive manifestations denote a new speech emergence of which ideological component of aims at the social transformation they present a technical nature and overall a political one, when they announce an educator conception as he education is compromised on changes in education/society field of action, expliciting, overall, teachers and professors formation and professionalization evaluation, which means rupturing the educational politics arisen from official political speech and, this, producing means

A comparative study of burnout among teachers in a Youth Juvenile Rehabilitation center, an Ex model C school, and Public schools

Clayford, Mario January 2010 (has links)

This study examined three schools / namely a Public, Ex model C, and a Youth juvenile rehabilitation school. A non-experimental survey design was used for this study. The sample consisted of 47 educators across the three types of schools. Data was collected by means of two instruments: a demographic questionnaire, and the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) consisting of three subscales namely / Emotional Exhaustion, Depersonalization, and Diminished Personal Accomplishment. It was hypothesised that due to the stressful nature of work in disadvantaged and resource lacking schools, as well as the unstable and unsafe environment in certain schools, burnout among educators in Public and Youth juvenile rehabilitation schools will have a higher prevalence rate than educators in Ex model C schools. The study also aimed to identify which various educator demographic variables correlate with high burnout levels. Correlational results of the study found no significant relationships between the three subscales of the MBI and certain educator demographic variables across the three types of schools. The results of an Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test revealed a borderline non-significant difference in the Emotional Exhaustion subscale between the Youth juvenile rehabilitation school and Public schools. Post Hoc comparison tests suggested Public school educators in the sample had the highest levels of burnout in terms of Emotional Exhaustion across the three types of schools, while educators in the Youth juvenile rehabilitation schools showed the lowest levels of burnout in terms of Emotional exhaustion. The results of the present study were discussed from the perspective of the Conservation of Resources theory, suggesting resource depletion as a central facet to burnout and how prolonged stress leads to burnout. Future qualitative studies exploring the etiology of burnout was thus recommended.
