Efektivita vzdělávacího programu Národního institutu dalšího vzdělávání z pohledu asistentů pedagoga / Effectivity of educational programme of National Institute of Further Education from the perspective of teaching assistants

The diploma thesis deals with the effectiveness of the educational program of the National Institute of Further Education in Prague (National Institute of Pedagogy) from the point of view of its graduates, teaching assistants. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the specifics of the profession of teaching assistant in the Czech educational context. The mentioned theoretical area leads to a key topic, which is the education of teaching assistants. It also includes mapping the results of research already carried out. The empirical part contains an analysis of the educational program for teaching assistants, implemented by the National Institute of Further Education in Prague (National Institute of Pedagogy). Subsequently, it presents the results of the effectiveness of the educational program in terms of graduates of the qualification course in the profession of teaching assistant. The research investigation showed that the study at National Institute of Further Education in Prague intended for teaching assistants achieves a very high, almost maximum degree of efficiency.

The Master's thesis deals with the issue of cooperation between a teacher and a teaching assistant. In the introduction to the theoretical part, the thesis deals with the concept of integration, inclusion and inclusive education. Furthermore, it also includes the current legislation establishing the function of a teaching assistant, qualification and personality requirements of the teaching assistant and the resulting risks of the teaching assistant's function at primary schools. All this information related to the topic of teaching assistants at lower primary schools is the basis for the research part of the paper, which is done through a qualitative research. The research is carried out at one selected primary school in Prague. The empirical part of the thesis maps examples of good practice, forms of co-operation between the teacher and the teaching assistant, a system of support at the selected school using materials provided by the school, and also focuses on mapping out the difficulties resulting from the co-operation of the teaching assistant and the teacher. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the conditions of communication between a teacher and a teaching assistant in kindergartens and primary schools. The thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. In the first chapter of theoretical part, I define important terms related to inclusive education. Second chapter describes the position of teaching assistants and the contents of their work. The last chapter of the theoretical part is dedicated to pedagogical communication and cooperation between teachers and teaching assistants. The practical part inquires into the cooperation and communication between the teacher and teaching assistant using the method of in-depth interviews with teaching assistants and teachers and observing their interaction in kindergarten and primary school classes. The theoretical part of this diploma thesis deals with the history of the job position and legislation,as well as the qualificationandpersonalityof the teaching assistant, and what is his role and content in his work in the kindergarten. The next chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to what the role is and scope of work of the teaching assistant in his work in the kindergarten. The thesis deals with the issue of a teaching assistant aiding pupils with an autistic spectrum disorder. The aim is to uncover the specifics of teaching assistant's role in aiding pupils with an autistic spectrum disorder and enumerate the important aspects of their profession. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical parts summarise the findings regarding the discussed topic. The teaching assistant's institution is introduced here as it is included in the Czech school counselling system. After that, the autistic spectrum disorder is discussed. The attention is focused on the exhibition of this disorder within everyday schooling and the possibilities to eliminate its negative influence. Inclusion is in legislation and presented with regard to the historical development and approach to the education of people with disabilities. Annotation: My master's thesis deals with the gypsy children in schools. The main goal of the thesis was to find out success rate of gypsy pupils in finishing elementary schools and special classes by the elementary school, and to find out how teachers work with gypsy children and what the experience of teachers in working with gypsy kids are. The next part of my research focuses on gypsy pupils in the fifth grade and how they see their future and their prospects. In the end of my research focused on educational counseling I investigated how the educational counselor and teacher can influence education of a gypsy pupil in the school. This diploma thesis deals with the development of the school climate in a classroom with a seriously physically disabled child who requires permanent presence of an assistant. The theoretical part focuses on physical disabilities and their impact on the psyche of the child, the specifics of including a seriously disabled child in educational instructional contexts and the life of the classroom, and on the cooperation between a form teacher and an assistant whose support and help is required by the child during all lessons. The practical part uses a narrative of two girls and people who are closely related to them to offer answers to the inquiries into how have relationships within such a classroom and the attitude of classmates to a disabled child changed over the years; how can the presence of an assistant affect the climate of the classroom; and whether the external perception of the inclusion of a disabled child as a successful one corresponds with the feelings of the disabled child, of if the child sees the process otherwise. The diploma thesis deals with the work of teaching assistant working with pupils with disabilities at the common primary school. Within the framework of the inclusive education the number of pupils with disabilities is increasing and in the result increase also the teaching assistent in the primary school. Work with teaching assistant is in the beginning for many schools but there are still various problems. This topic is relevant today and it is discussed in both academic field and general public. The aim of this diploma thesis is to define the work of the teaching assistants at the primary school and the partial aim is to find out how the teaching assistants perceive their profession or what they would change. To meet these goals, qualitative research methods were used, especially semi-structured interviews together with the information from the respondent's demographic survey. The interviews were processed using note- based coding and for obtained data analytical induction was used. The result of the research is an overview of the activities of the assistant teacher and teamwork of teachers and other professional staff. Syftet med denna studie är att bidra med en ökad förståelse för hur genus kan påverka barnets identitetsskapande. Studiens forskningsfråga är: hur kan genus påverka barnets identitetsskapande? I litteraturgenomgången belyses studiens forskningsfråga utifrån olika aspekter, såsom vilka förväntningar det finns på flickor och pojkar, språkets betydelse för barnets identitetsskapande och hur genus och identitet skapas. Studiens problemprecisering är: hur beskriver barnskötare och förskollärare verbalt att deras genusperspektiv kan påverka barnets identitetsskapande? För att besvara studiens problemprecisering har två barnskötare och fyra förskollärare intervjuats utifrån en kvalitativ intervjuform. Analysprocessen utgår från den fenomenografiska forskningsansatsen, då studien fokuserar på att urskilja variation i uppfattningarna om studiens problemprecisering. Resultatet urskiljer barnskötares och förskollärares uppfattningar om studiens fenomen utifrån olika betydelsefulla aspekter som tillsammans besvarar studiens problemprecisering. Resultatet visar att barnskötare och förskollärare strävar efter att bemöta barnet som individ men att barnets könstillhörighet avgör för hur det blir bemött som flicka eller pojke går att urskilja som en avgörande aspekt för hur barnet skapar sin identitet. / The purpose of this study is to contribute to a better understanding of how gender can affect the child's identity. The study's research question is: how can gender affect the child's identity? The literature review investigates the research question from different aspects, such as what expectations there are for girls and boys, the importance of language for the child’s identity and how gender and identity is created. The study's problem specification is: how describe nanny and preschool teacher verbally that their gender perspective can affect the child's identity? To address the research question two teaching assistants’ and four preschool teachers were interviewed using a qualitative interview form. The analysis process uses a phenomenographic research approach, which focus on identifying variation in perceptions of the research question. The study investigates the perception of child minders and preschool teacher on a number of important aspects, each of which acts as an important factor in fully answering the research question. From the results it is possible to discern that teaching assistants’ and preschool teachers’ do attempt to treat each child as an individual. It is also clear that a child's sex determines how it will be treated, and that this can be identified as a crucial aspect of how the child creates its own identity.
