No. of bitstreams: 1 Daniela da Costa Neves.pdf: 3011963 bytes, checksum: c4033eed69d5045010e9ed4d915e5c4c (MD5) Previous issue date: 2011-12-06 / This research started from seeking the need for actions by the Secretaria Municipal de Educação de São Paulo that would give subsidies to teaching materials and also to the process of training of teachers of elementary school with different skills (Ensino Fundamental I), in view of needing for materials that were aligned with the curriculum reorientation implemented in 2008 and the difficulties presented by students in results of external evaluations conducted from 2007. The plot of this research were the Cadernos de apoio e aprendizagem, produced by the Secretaria Municipal de Educação in partnership with Padre Anchieta Foundation, whose use by teachers and students from public schools began in 2010. This material consists of teacher`s and students books and videos that integrate the activities proposed in the printed material. Our goal was to demonstrate if the Cadernos de apoio e aprendizagem subsidized the educational practices and how they did it, highlighting the contributions and challenges perceived by elementary school students and teachers in their work integrating media and curriculum. Twenty eight teachers and a hundred students from five schools belonging to the Departaments of educational of Butantã, Campo Limpo and Penha from elementary school were interviewed. The techniques for data collection were questionnaires with structured and semi-structured questions and class observations. For the data analysis the option was for the qualitative approach, extracting the central idea of the issues and the cluster of categories by convergences. Analysis and interpretation of data demonstrated that the use of Cadernos de apoio e aprendizagem facilitated the preparation of the syllabus by the teacher, aroused to the interest of the student to learn both graphical format for printed material and by integration with the videos, made the teaching / learning process more meaningful by addressing issues related to the daily lives of students and to São Paulo city and favored a more effective dynamic range and methodological strategies. Among the challenges faced by teachers are the adequacy of school time, overcoming the setbacks caused by delays in delivery of materials, the video display, for lack of sufficient equipment in some schools and carry out the suitability of the material to students with difficulties and learning disabilities.

Pascon, Caroline 22 February 2019 (has links)
Written language learning is influenced by oral language, phonological processing abilities, and other skills such as literacy, alphabetic principle, and auditory and visual perceptual processes. With that in mind, a group of Speech-language Therapy majors designed instructional materials aimed to simulate those skills, which are considered by literature as an important aspect for the literacy process. Later, those materials became a book called, Conte com a Fono! Histórias e atividades para crianças em fase de alfabetização (Count on the Speech-language Pathologist! Stories and activities for children developing literacy, in Portuguese). In order for the book to be improved and assessed by professionals who can use it, this research proposed three studies: Study 1: Instructional materials for oral and/or written language stimulation in children: integrative review; Study 2: Assessment and adjustment of a book aimed at stimulating written language; and Study 3: Applicability and effects of the book \"Conte com a Fono!\" on municipal school teachers. Study 1 investigated the existence and characteristics of instructional materials aimed at language stimulation through an integrative review. Study 2 proposed an assessment of the book a) by designers regarding its design visual aspects, b) by Portuguese teachers regarding its language, and c) by speechlanguage pathologists regarding its content. Besides, Study 2 also aimed to adjust the material taking into account the participating professionals\' opinions. On the other hand, Study 3 aimed to investigate how reading the book would impact the building of theoretical and practical knowledge on important skills for the development of written language in public elementary school teachers (1st to 3rd-grade). The reports of the three studies are as follows. The book \"Conte com a Fono!\" which is the ultimate result of this research, is available on the University of São Paulo website and is free of charge.

The development and reflections of elementary school grade three number and operation problem-posing curriculum and instruction

Wu, Chai-hui 12 July 2006 (has links)
This study focuses on the result of problem-posing teaching, covering units on number and operation on third grade elementary school students. The problem-posing teaching method incorporates: teacher formulating problem, discussion and debate, problem-solving activities, and problem-posing activities. This researcher was also the one who carried out teaching. The teachers guide was adapted from the teaching goals of textbook published by KNSH in 1993 and the researcher selected the units on number and operation from the fifth and sixth volumes. We used the teacher¡¦s math diaries, videotapes of actual teaching sessions, observation notes on teaching records, students¡¦ feedback surveys, and interviews of students. The objectives of this study are: 1. developing and integrating problem-posing into mathematics curriculum; 2. promoting students¡¦ ability in communication; and, 3. reflecting upon practice on problem-posing instruction through action research. There results are three results. First, when comparing performances of experimental class to control group, 5 out of 9 units were having statistical significance and 4 were not. Second, students¡¦ ability in communication improved after problem-posing instruction. Third, two challenges were identified when teachers implemented the problem-posing activities.
