Cambruzzi, Rita de Cássia Silveira 25 February 2013 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-06-02T19:46:23Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 5036.pdf: 14531886 bytes, checksum: e76b181fa8c752c0560ff43476c9b79c (MD5) Previous issue date: 2013-02-25 / The objective of this work was to analyze the efficiency of visual adaptations in activities presented in the student with deafblindness with Usher syndrome and its impact on education. This research was developed in the city of Santa Catarina in a Basic Inclusive School where deaf education policy is performed in Elementary School in the first to ninth-grade and in High school. This is a case study for 12 year old preteen with deafblindness with Usher syndrome who studies in an Association of sensorineural deafness and acquired blindness as a result of Retinitis Pigmentosa. In the year 201, the student attended the 5th grade, in bilingual mode (only for deaf). In 6th grade (2012) in mixed class (with listeners). In the bilingual class the teacher, teaches in sign language as first language and the Portuguese, as second one. Already in the inclusive class the language used is Portuguese with the presence of an educational interpreter. It was used visual resources in the accessible instructional materials for the contents of the subjects. The bilingual students took advantage by the materials. Data collection consisted of the interview with the family, with the student, and the teacher. Also pre and post student s intervention with the application of functional vision instrument. Observations were conducted in different situations and in different spaces. The obtained results were analyzed qualitatively taking as a criterion the student s own performance analysis. The student makes use of sign language easily. He presented the first symptoms of Usher syndrome: dazzing in some situations which implied difficulty to adapt to bright; decreased peripheral vision and night blindness. In the process of perception of the difficulties he doesn t see as deafblind but like a deaf. During the collection of data it was observed signs of decrease in the peripheral vision, in the locomotion, and in the sign language when the colleague uses it in his side. The results suggest that the materials used in the classroom were mainly appropriate for the amplified material with 12 points to 20 or 20 points letters as gradual exposure in different sizes. The Times New Roman font was modified to the Arial font one and after to Verdana because the changes provided more suitable traits. The results indicate, therefore, that the accessible visual resources were used properly. However, there is no support of optical and non-optical resources by the institution on this new reality: the presence of the student with Usher syndrome, in the classroom, and his constitutional right is guaranteed.

Analýza vybrané učebnice výchovy ke zdraví / Analysis of selected textbooks health education

Koťátková, Eliška January 2018 (has links)
In this diploma thesis I look at the Analysis of selected textbook health education through the eyes of teachers who use it in their lessons. The theoretical part of this thesis serves as an introduction to the complex topic of textbooks and lays out the criteria according to which a textbook is chosen. In the practical part I carry out a didactic analysis of the textbook and I present a summary of experience of teachers who have worked with it. The practical part shows that teachers's experience does not differ significantly from the findings of the didactic analysis. The textbook's unusual approach to teaching health education is prominent in both surveys. This thesis aims to help junior health education teachers decide whether and how this particular textbook will benefit their own teaching method. KEYWORDS analysis of textbooks, teaching resources, textbooks, function and structure of textbooks, textbook evaluation

Juliana de Oliveira Maia 13 June 2013 (has links)
Issues related to instructional materials have been widely discussed in studies in the literature. It is known that the Textbook is one of the materials most commonly used in chemistry classes, since it guides the whole teaching practice, from the choice of content to the evaluation process. To assist the teacher\'s pedagogical practices and contribute to the students learning a new material has been used in Sao Paulo State: The Teacher\'s and Student\'s Notebook. In this perspective, the present study aims at investigating the relationships that the chemistry teacher establishes with the instructional materials, in particular with the Textbook and Notebooks provided by the government. Eleven public school chemistry teachers of São Paulo were interviewed. Data were analyzed according to the ideas of \'primary\' and \'secondary violence\' proposed by Aulagnier (1975) and the \'levels of learning\' from Barolli Villani (2000a, 2000b). The results show that the ways in which instructional materials are included in the teacher\'s pedagogical practice depends on several factors, such as the context of teaching, training concepts and demands of the students. We realize that the introduction of the Student\'s Notebook created a disturbance in the pedagogical action, whereas the Textbook still represents the school\'s scientific knowledge. It was evident that the classroom is not neutral space, it is instead, full of different points of view, identities, values and perceptions. Dealing with disagreements and differences requires a critically approach of the different materials that teachers will incorporate into their practice. We conclude that teachers will seek shortcuts to meet their demands regardless of what is imposed on them.

Building leadership capacity in the development and sharing of mathematics learning resources, across disciplines, across universities

Porter, Anne L. 09 May 2012 (has links)
In this paper we examine an Australian project in which we seek to develop leadership capacity in staff and students throughout the country, such that they may contribute to and lead others to contribute to the development and sharing of learning support resources for mathematics and statistics across disciplines and universities. One of the tangible outputs is a set of video based learning support resources that can be embedded in subjects across disciplines and shared across institutions. However the guiding aim is to develop leadership capacity, in its simplest form leading others to lead others to contribute to the project. Leadership may also be developed and exercised across different aspects of the project whether it be mapping needs, drawing together disciplines groups, finding ways to recognise and reward those engaged in the process, developing resources and the associated skills, ensuring copyright adherence, creating learning designs for optimal use of resources, evaluating the impact on student outcomes, peer review and the dissemination of findings.

An investigation of the use of Zulu as the language of learning and teaching in foundation phase of schools in Gauteng East district

Zikalala, Ntombintombi Alice 18 September 2014 (has links)
According to the South African Schools Act no 86 or 1994, school governing bodies determine the official language used as Language of Learning and Teaching (LoLT) in public schools. Black community primary schools use home language in the Foundation Phase, and switch to English from the fourth grade. This study investigates Zulu as LoLT in the Foundation Phase in selected township primary schools in Gauteng East District. A qualitative inquiry used semi-structured interviews to collect data from Grade Three teachers. Findings were that educators welcomed use of learner’s Home Language as LoLT; due to diverse linguistic backgrounds of teachers and learners, Zulu was not used effectively in classrooms; code switching to English was prevalent; parent involvement was poor due to parents’ lack of Zulu proficiency and learning and teaching materials were mainly in English. The review of school language policies and the provision of multiple medium classes to accommodate language diversity were recommended. / Educational Studies / M. Ed. (Early Childhood Development)

Dal Zot, Wili Alberto Brancks January 2010 (has links)
The study investigated the importance of teaching material used in Business Math discipline in Management Course Distance conducted by the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul Management School, based on students' perceptions of the classes.
