Söderling, Ingegerd January 2011 (has links)
The aim of the study was to examine the nurses´ experiences of communication, teamwork and patient safety in an operation ward where WHO´s Surgical Safety Checklist is used.  Quantitative method. Design: descriptive, retrospective, non-experimental cross-sectional study. The data collection was implemented in an operation theatre where WHO´s Surgical Safety Checklist had been applied for the last year. The participants responded to a structured questionnaire, a translated version of the Safety Attitudes Questionnaire (SAQ) adjusted for operating rooms (OR). In the study 3 of 6 themes of the questionnaire was examined: safety culture, teamwork climate and stress identity. The study examined the nurses´ experiences of communication in the operating room; and to what extent the checklist has improved the communication, teamwork and patient safety in the operating room. Each item was answered using a 5-point Likert scale. The findings reveal nurses´ experience of high quality of communication and collaboration in the operating room. Further it seems that the participants thought the patient safety was sufficient, and the checklist briefing was important for the patient safety. The results also show that nurses thought the checklist briefing has improved the communication, collaboration and patient safety in the operating room. The nurses´ experiences of communication, teamwork and patient safety in the operating room were assumed as mostly positive 1 year after the introduction of the WHO´s Surgical Safety Checklist.

Hatch, Denton Boyle January 2016 (has links)
Recent empirical studies have looked that the relationship between narcissism and different aspects of organizations. However, little research exists on narcissism in group work and its relationship with productivity and group effectiveness. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between narcissism, self-perceptions and other perceptions of competence and contribution in a team performance setting. Data were collected from college-aged students (N = 52) at a state university. Results indicate that a narcissistic view of authority is correlated the group's perception of leadership and with time spent talking during the group task. Furthermore, narcissistic vanity was positively correlated with higher group respect and personal error on the in-lab task.

Darbuotojų konfliktų valdymas dirbant komandoje / Employees’ conflict management in teams

Sabaliūnaitė, Neringa 26 June 2014 (has links)
[toliau žr. visą tekstą] / Organization – is an alive system, which can grow, prosper and vanish, because different people meet in this system, which have their own interests, demands, wishes and valuables. Conflicts are not only the reason of a negative microclimate, conflicts are responsible for the internal communication, conflicts disturb the team work, and the team work is responsible for the organization activity’s productivity and quality. In the modern world the planning of the team work is understood as a factor which warrants the more effective activity and success. The organization which grounds its activity on team work creates conditions to develop more quickly, to learn more effectively, to use knowledge which is learned, to save time, to look for innovations and to implement them. Such manner of activity lets employees to integrate and to link the information by the means, which would be impracticable for the individual employee. The value of properly collected and effectively working team is obvious and invaluable. Unfortunately, conflicts arise in the teams too, and the reasons of these conflicts can be social (different valuables, creeds and education), and working (which appear because of the implementation of given task). It is obvious that conflicts have impact on team work. This is why it is necessary to foresee what strategy will be the most appropriate when the conflict will arise. It is necessary to solve arising conflicts quickly, effectively and correctly, seeking that... [to full text]

Interdisciplinary Teamwork Pedagogy

Ivey, Carole 15 April 2011 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to describe the interdisciplinary teamwork pedagogy of the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) training programs, specifically the content focus, instructional methods, and assessment practices. LEND programs are a national network providing long-term, graduate interdisciplinary training through federal funds from the Health Resources and Services Administration's Maternal Child Health Bureau. This study used a mixed method approach to describe the interdisciplinary teamwork pedagogy of LEND training programs. The study occurred in three stages: 1) a survey of LEND training directors, 2) a survey of LEND interdisciplinary teamwork instructors, and 3) document review of the national LEND website and LEND program websites. Data were analyzed using statistical and qualitative methods and interpreted through the use of professional competencies, the How People Learn framework, and research literature. This study provides for an understanding of interdisciplinary teamwork within one national program in order to inform efforts for training, practice, and research.

Barnmorskors kommunikation och dess inverkan på deras arbetsförhållande / Midwives’ communication and its impact on their working conditions

Shekarin, Maryam, Zandi, Safoura January 2011 (has links)
