In recent years, the rapid development of Internet finance has seized the financial market with a variety of business modes, which has had a strong impact on traditional financial institutions. This thesis analyzes the characteristics and main modes of Internet finance to explore the impact and future development of Internet finance. Due to the variety of Internet financial modes, this thesis uses a representative model of third-party payment to study the impact on residents, governments, and commercial banks. The main models used are OLS, panel data models, and VAR models. In order to explore the future development of Internet finance, this thesis not only compares the development of Internet finance in the United States, Europe, and China, but also analyzes the differences in the development of various regions. In addition, the thesis uses SWOT analysis to analyze the current environment of Internet finance, and speculates on future development trends and development measures that can be taken. Immigrant Perceptions of Advertising amid Acculturation Levels, Stress and Motivation

A media studies survey was conducted among university graduate students to study immigrants' attitudes toward advertising under various acculturation conditions. A total of 358 valid responses were collected. The study supported our hypothesis that immigrants have more positive attitudes than Americans do and it also showed that the level of positiveness varies according to different acculturation status. The study also found a larger third-person effect for immigrants than for Americans.

Research about leadership is often common within the private- and the public sector, which has presented a large range of different leadership theories, concepts, styles and distinguished characteristics. We consider that far too little attention has been given to leadership within the third sector, which is why we consider that our study stands out, as well as making it interesting and relevant in today’s society. In our case study, we have examined what distinguishes leadership in the third sector. To answer this, we have conducted six semi-structured interviews with six different leaders within the Red Cross in Sweden. Our case study is based on a deductive approach through a qualitative method, the empirical material has been gathered and analysed through the use of five different leadership theories. Based on our result, we are able to ascertain that leadership within the third sector is characterised by the leader´s will and ability to serve its fellowship. Furthermore, we also came to the conclusion that leaders within the third sector are strongly influenced by organisational values, and that these values are considered a central part of the third sector.

Combat Workplace Sexual Harassment by Third Parties? Reframing Institutional Measures and Cultural Transformation in South Korea

This study investigated the risk factors for workplace sexual harassment in South Korea using cross-sectional data of the 2014 and 2017 Korean Working Conditions Survey (KWCS). A generalized linear model specified with a Poisson distribution and log link function was performed. Females, younger adults, jobs in services or sales, tasks that involve visiting places where clients reside, and significant work time contribution to customers were associated with increased gender harassment and unwanted sexual attention. Evidence suggests that third parties and male-oriented culture may pose a serious threat to healthy working conditions.

The use of Swedish in teaching English in the multilingual classroom

The purpose of this dissertation has been to get a deeper understanding of how, when and why the English teachers of year 6-9 at a particular multilingual school use Swedish when they teach English in a multilingual classroom. Data were collected through notes taken during observations of two teachers during one lesson each. After observing the teachers I conducted one interview with them each. Swedish was used mostly when grammar was explained and when work was done with vocabulary. If Swedish dominated during a lesson or not, depended on what was being done during the lesson. The main reason given why the teachers used Swedish in teaching English was that they were not trained to teach English in a multilingual classroom where Swedish is not the first language of all the pupils. The teachers felt it was difficult to speak English during a whole lesson when they were teaching a group of pupils who had a low level of English.

An Examination Of Third-person Effect In The Context Of Contoversial Product Advertising

This research seeks to determine if there is a third-person effect in the realm of controversial product advertising. A questionnaire was designed based on previous research and distributed to a convenience sample of college students at the University of Central Florida. Participants were asked to rate their perceived levels of personal offense to product categories as well as the expected levels of other groups of people. The results show that there is indeed a significant third-person effect recognized for all product categories except for racial extremist groups. A first-person effect was shown to be present for the category of racial extremist groups. This research also suggests that a concealed third-person effect may have been present in previous studies of this nature that obtained high levels of offense attributed to the self. Discussions of the findings, implications for marketers and advertisers, limitations to the study, as well as suggestions for future research are also posited.

Diverse 3rd Grade Non-school Activity Participation Associations With Social Competence And Reading Performance

This study examined indicators of 3rd Grade students’ non-school activity participation (NSAP) for associations with measures of social competence and reading performance. The Early Childhood Longitudinal Study (ECLS-K), representative of a 1999 kindergarten cohort of more than 14,000 students was used. The study constructed social competence composites from responses provided by students, parents and teachers. Principal component analysis and iterative bivariate correlations were utilized to derive the most robust composite for use in tests of the main hypotheses of the study. Results confirmed prior research findings that social competence has strong positive associations with academic performance. Thereafter, the social competence composite and ECLS Reading IRT Scale Score were used as alternative outcome measures in the bivariate analyses and linear regressions on non-school activity participation (NSAP) and breadth of non-school activity participation (BNSAP) scores. Cluster and multiple regression analyses combined in the study and brought demographic and cognitive controls to bear on iterations of five distinct views of the independent variables. Results indicated that girls influenced the association strengths observed for NSAP, and boys seemed to drive the direction and strength of BNSAP associations. Although regression betas for total samples were nominal, when viewed by demographic cluster samples the values were appreciatively improved. The use of the cluster distinctions provided views of significant associations that were otherwise dissolved into nominal aggregates. The results of these analyses support the construct validity of applying the aggregate scoring metric of EAP research to NSAP. Regression results prompted a call for future inquiries into student self-selection.

Perceived Influence Of The Portrayal Of Women In Beauty And Fashion Magazines On Body Image

This investigation examines how women perceive that magazines influence the body image of self and others. Seventeen audio-taped in-depth interviews were conducted with college women who read beauty, fashion, and grooming magazines frequently. These interviews were transcribed, coded, and analyzed and the data developed into topics of importance. The findings indicated that informants perceived other women were influenced more by images of women in the media than they themselves were influenced. However, informants did not advocate behavior changes for others or hold pro-censorship attitudes. Other findings include favorable perceptions of magazines utilizing larger sized fashion models, negative attitudes towards advertising, and a reverse third-person effect when the 'other' is male. These findings are consistent with existing research on the third-person effect.

Integrating evidence-based dentistry concepts throughout pre-doctoral dental curriculum

Evidence-based dentistry (EBD), an evolving educational tool that started its rise in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, is being used more every year in dentistry. EBD combines the most current scientific and clinical evidence with the dentists’ expertise and the patients’ needs and preferences to formulate the best option to treat the patient. Since patients are taking more time to research their oral health issues before seeing their dentists, the dentists and the dental team must be prepared for all types of questions. Having the tools necessary to understand the latest and most significant research allows dental professionals to consistently educate themselves. However, there is no independent committee that handles the current issues facing dentistry. Using the topic of asymptomatic removal of third molars as a framework for EBD education, it can be used to help improve how schools educate their students. It is important that both the dental community and the public understand the scientific literature behind the removal of third molars because the existing practice of removing third molars without adverse symptoms is not statistically supported. Unfortunately, there is not enough evidence in favor of either side of the situation. Major databases, like PubMed, contain very little research on the asymptomatic removal of third molars, and those studies were not done recently. For EBD to be successful in dentistry, it must function in the clinical environment, but initial training in the concepts of EBD must start during pre-doctoral education. The dental practitioner still must rely on his or her own experience, but the patient must also trust his or her dentist. EBD is based on trust because it is based on the trust you have demonstrated through your skills and your usage of all available resources. If the dentist can compile pertinent scientific data and information to share with the patient and make the best decision together, then the use of EBD will be beneficial to the field of dentistry.
