The aim of this dissertation is to put forward conceptual frameworks to inquire into and update the following theoretical categories of Aldo Rossi’s architectural production: the city as an artefact, the idea of type, architectural autonomy, history understood as collective imagination, and the concept of the analogical city. On one hand, our inquiry puts forward a close reading of particular aspects of Rossi’s formal and theoretical production, examining Rossi’s work as well as other commentators on Rossi’s work. On the other, the inquiry is supported by a selective reading of major figures as well as canonical theories and projects from the discipline of architecture. In both cases detailed readings of texts, drawings, built and unbuilt work is undertaken to extrapolate the theoretical categories as well as key descriptive characteristics. These develop the conceptual frameworks which are diagrams that visualise the relations between categories and characteristics. Revisiting Rossi helps us re-engage with architecture as a discipline that simultaneously produces its own historical-formal body of knowledge while co-determining the wider social imagination. The discipline has, in the last decades, become weakened by the continuing proliferation of unique architecture-objects and the rejection of architecture’s fixed terms of reference. By discussing the category of discipline, we point to future work on how architecture negotiates its formal condition and its societal role. We re-learn that architecture is an instrument that puts forward singular alternative ways of living – formal possibilities – and critical interpretations of existing conditions – theoretical alternatives. The primary method of inquiry is visual and literary montage. Simultaneously analytic and synthetic, montage provides a way to isolate theoretical categories and formal examples from the mass of material, then produce new insight by making connections between things otherwise different.

Seeking to fill this theoretical gap, this study raised the main performance indicators applied to transport through a systematic literature review, complemented by a multiple case study and assessed the impact that non- compliance with the principles proposed by the Theory of Representation has been on Performance Measurement Systems applied to transportation. The study showed that several performance indicators widely employed in the literature do not meet specific principles, which may cause these indicators to present difficulties during implementation and monitoring. As a result of this study, it will be possible to develop methods for construction of Performance Measurement Systems in transport more efficiently in order to achieve one’s goals and methods more aligned with the strategy of organizations. Thus, it is expected to contribute to studies related to the cargo transportation sector in Brazil, a very important area to the country's development. / A literatura sobre Sistemas de Medição de Desempenho aplicados ao transporte pouco investiga as propriedades teóricas que os indicadores devem atender de acordo com os princípios da Teoria da Representação. Buscando preencher esta lacuna teórica, este estudo levantou os principais indicadores de desempenho aplicados ao transporte através de uma revisão bibliográfica sistemática, complementada por um estudo de casos múltiplos e avaliou o impacto que o não atendimento aos princípios propostos pela Teoria da Representação tem sobre os Sistemas de Medição de Desempenho (SMD) aplicados ao transporte. O estudo mostrou que vários indicadores de desempenho amplamente empregados pela literatura não atendem determinados princípios, o que pode fazer com que estes indicadores apresentem dificuldades quando de sua implementação e monitoramento. A partir deste estudo, será possível desenvolver métodos para construção de Sistemas de Medição de Desempenho em transporte mais eficientes no atingimento de seus objetivos e mais alinhados com a estratégia das organizações. Desta forma, espera-se contribuir com os estudos referentes ao setor de transportes de cargas no Brasil, área fundamental para o desenvolvimento do país.

This qualitative case study focuses on the development of women’s political representation in national legislation, from 2000 to 2021 in Mexico. To examine the development of women’s political representation, this study will use Hanna Pitkin’s (1967) four interconnected diminutions of representation: formal, descriptive, substantive, and symbolic representation. The result of this study has revealed a predominantly positive development trends in Mexican women’s political representation in the Congress of the Union, from 2000 to 2021 in terms of formal, descriptive, substantive representation. While the implantation of a gender quota system has had an overall positive impact, the unwavering scepticism and lack of trust of the democratic and representative political institutions, among women is still persistent.

The aim of the diploma thesis What do the girls want? The reflection of their world in the magazines Super Dívka and BravoGirl! is to analyze the representation of lifestyle in the magazines for girls and the evolution of this representation within fifteen years. For the needs of this work, the individual theoretical concepts have been discussed, in order to better understand the problematics of media representation of reality. We defined notions such as social and media construction of reality, theory of representation, gender, stereotypes, myths and ideology. Other chapters are dedicated to the notion of lifestyle from its sociological and media perspective, to the girls' magazines themselves and to their up to now researches. These researches are concerned especially with the problematics of consolidation of gender stereotypes in the society through proposed patterns of behaviour and creation of norms of femininity. At the same time, they consider the magazines to be the holders of ideology in consumer and patriarchal society. For the needs of this thesis, the mixed analytical method has been used.
