Žena ve volební kampani. Jazykové utváření obrazu ženy navzdory stereotypům. / A Woman in the Election Campaign. Image Creation through Language against Stereotypes.Plasová, Anna January 2015 (has links)
The thesis focuses on the analysis of the process of creating a political image in the course of an election campaign, offering a case study of Magdalena Ogórek's candidacy during the Polish presidential election of 2015. The analysis is preceded by a theoretical introduction which lays down the groundwork for subsequently reporting the empirical findings. The following central terms and concepts are covered: political marketing (especially in the context of post-1989 Poland), political image (with an emphasis on the process of its creation and the parties involved), political language (again, particularly in the context of contemporary Poland), and the notion of stereotype (both linguistic and non-linguistic, with an emphasis on stereotypes about women). The empirical results are reported in three sections which offer different perspectives on the phenomenon under scrutiny. The first part investigates how Magdalena Ogórek herself, her team and PR consultants created her image as a candidate. The second part presents an analysis of the influence that her political opponents had on her political image. The third and final part concerns itself with Magdalena Ogórek's media image, as created by the Polish media during the campaign. The empirical research is based on material collected from the website...

T. S. Eliot's Ash Wednesday: a Philosophical Approach to Empowering the FeminineAdams, Stephen D. (Stephen Duane) 08 1900 (has links)
In his 1916 dissertation, Eliot asserted that individuals were locked into finite centers and that all knowledge was epistemologically relative, but he also believed that finite centers could be transcended through language. In the essay "Lancelot Andrewes,'" Eliot identified Andrewes's "relevant intensity," a method very close to nonsensical verse. Eliot used Andrewes's Word and the impersonality of nonsense verse in Ash Wednesday. The Word, God's logos, embodied the Virgin Mary as its source, and allowed Eliot to transcend the finite center through language. Ultimately, Eliot philosophically empowered the feminine as the source of the Word. Though failing to fully empower the earthly Lady in part II of Ash Wednesday, Eliot did present a philosophical plan for transcending the finite center through language.

Le fond français dans le lexique azerbaïdjanais / The French borrowing in the Azerbaijani lexiconKalantarova, Tarana 02 September 2014 (has links)
Azerbaijani language, like all living languages, does not escape the linguistic exchanges. The modern Azerbaijani also demonstrate its ability to adapt to social, economic, political, technological or scientific. To serve effectively in communicating in specific contexts and styling with precision the new realities, it creates but also borrows new lexical units. Borrowing the words of French origin in the Azerbaijani vocabulary is an ongoing process since it is still ongoing and is becoming more common in the age of globalization. This thesis explores the background in the French lexicon Azerbaijani while insisting on possible adaptations, modifications or assimilation : semantic, grammatical, graphic, phonological. Half of those words that settle in the language, enrich and simply become necessary for speech are part of everyday life. This is thanks to the survey of users of the Azerbaijani language we can see various aspects of the use of these words travelers.

Skofwerk van getroude vroue as sistemiese ontwrigting of behoud : 'n ekologiese modelDe Waard, Ilonka 06 1900 (has links)
Summaries in English and Afrikaans / Text in Afrikaans / Key terms in English and Afrikaans / Verskeie tekortkomings is in die bestaande konseptuele model en kwantitatiewe
navorsingsliteratuur oor skofwerk geidentifiseer.
Hierdie nuwe konseptuele model weerspieel 'n altematiewe benadering waar erkenning
Several shortcomings have been identified in the existing conceptual model and
quantitative research literature regarding shiftwork. Dissatisfaction with the
oversimplified cause-effect-explanations for married women's shiftwork experience has
led to the development of an ecological model of women shiftwork in this study. This
new conceptual model reflects an alternative approach where recognition is given to
the existence of multiple realities which are consensually created by people through
language. The aim with the ecological model, by taking into account the broader
context of women shiftworkers, is to search for patterns of how the different
descriptions of women's experience of shiftwork fit together. This offers a more
systemic view that respects the complexity of human interaction. The ecological model
for women shiftwork is developed as an aid to the observer to construct rich,
descriptive ecological stories about how married women's experience of shiftwork can
lead to systemic disruption or conservation. / Psychology / M.A. (Clinical Psychology)
