Este Estudo de Caso, com foco na Universidade Federal do Pampa, tem como objeto empírico os sites dos campi da instituição em Jaguarão e Santana do Livramento, buscando compreender se, pela dimensão da organização comunicada, ela ativa sua condição fronteiriça e pratica movimentos interculturais, de modo a aproximar-se de maneira estratégica da identidade regional existente na fronteira brasileiro-uruguaia. Primeiramente, a partir de autores como Landowski (2012), Thompson (2011) e Mattellart (2005), reflete-se sobre culturas, identidades, práticas socioculturais; no momento seguinte, baseando-se sobretudo nos estudos de Baldissera (2007; 2008; 2009; 2011), discute-se o quanto as falas planejadas podem promover interações entre a UNIPAMPA e seu contexto; resgata-se, através de Oliven (2002) e Chauí (2014), dados importantes para a compreensão do que vem a ser a universidade do século XXI; com apoio de Santos (2013) e Ristoff (2013), debate-se os atuais desafios que esta instituição social enfrenta, entre eles os processos de internacionalização, democratização e expansão; por fim, apresentase a UNIPAMPA, para, com apoio de pesquisadores como Dorfman (2009; 2013), Müller (2003; 2007) e Raddatz (2004; 2009), compreender o que vem a ser sua condição fronteiriça, bem como quais as características que conformam a identidade regional nas fronteiras do Rio Grande do Sul com o Uruguai. Posteriormente, aplicase a Análise de Conteúdo, proposta por Bardin (2011), em 50 textos retirados da seção “Notícias” dos sites dos campi Jaguarão e Santana do Livramento. Os resultados fazem crer que a UNIPAMPA ativa sua condição fronteiriça. Porém, apesar de demonstrar competência intercultural e realizar alguns movimentos que tendem à admissão do Outro, não se assume como fronteiriça, perdendo a oportunidade de aliar ações e discursos em prol de seu Projeto Institucional. / This Case Study of the Universidade Federal do Pampa (UNIPAMPA) focuses on the websites of Jaguarão and Santana do Livramento’s campi. Afterwards, the analysis are made through Content Analysis, as proposed by Bardin (2011), in 50 texts from the section “Notícias” from the sites of the two referred UNIPAMPAS’s campi. The results show that UNIPAMPA activates its bordering conditions and considers the possibilities existing in both sides of the border. However, despite the fact of having intercultural competences and performing a few movements that tend to admit the Other, the University does not acknowledges itself as a “bordering University”, losing the opportunity of combining acting and discourses in benefit of its Institutional Project.

Essa investigação foi realizada na Universidade Federal do Pampa – Campus Alegrete, com uma turma de 40 alunos ingressantes nos cursos de Engenharia Civil, Elétrica, Mecânica e de Telecomunicações, em que foram trabalhados conteúdos de Matemática Básica, necessários para o acompanhamento das disciplinas da graduação. Para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa foi utilizado o Modelo Metodológico de Romberg em que, a partir do fenômeno de interesse da pesquisadora, foi possível identificar três temas relevantes: a Resolução de Problemas e o Ensino Superior, a Matemática da Educação Básica necessária para o Ensino Superior e os Cursos de Matemática Básica. O estudo desses temas, apoiado nas ideias de outros pesquisadores levou à pergunta da pesquisa: Quais as contribuições de um Curso de Matemática Básica, utilizando-se da Metodologia de Ensino-Aprendizagem-Avaliação de Matemática através da Resolução de Problemas, para auxiliar os alunos ingressantes, nas disciplinas de Matemática, em particular do Cálculo I, no Ensino Superior? A partir da pergunta da pesquisa, forma elaboradas estratégias e procedimentos a fim de respondê-la. Colocados os procedimentos em ação em sala de aula, os alunos, utilizando a Metodologia de Ensino- Aprendizagem-Avaliação de Matemática através da Resolução de Problemas, atuaram como coconstrutores de seu conhecimento durante a resolução dos problemas propostos. That investigation was conducted at Universidade Federal do Pampa – Alegrete Campus, with a group of 40 first-year students in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Telecommunications Engineering schools, and necessary Basic Mathematics contents were developed to follow the college disciplines. The research was grounded on Romberg’s Methodological Model in which, from the researcher’s phenomenon of interest, it was possible to identify three relevant topics: Problem Solving and College Education, Basic Education Mathematics necessary for College Education and Basic Mathematics Courses. The study of these topics and the support of other researchers’ ideas led to the research question: What are the contributions of a Basic Mathematics Course based on the Methodology of Mathematics Teaching-Learning-Evaluation through Problem Solving to help first-year college students in Mathematics disciplines, particularly Calculus I? From this research question, strategies and procedures were elaborated in order to answer it. Once the procedures were developed in classroom, the first-year students, by using the Methodology of Mathematics Teaching-Learning-Evaluation through Problem Solving, became co-builders of their own knowledge during the resolution of the proposed problems, which helped them review/build mathematical concepts and operation techniques in Basic Mathematics that are important for Calculus I. Assim, as seguintes categorias são: (a) cooperação e (b) sistemas de participação. Nessa perspectiva, pensar a responsabilidade social institucional da UNIPAMPA significa assumir o seu compromisso como agente social. A integração de indicadores de capital social, como a cooperação e a participação social, desenvolvem a confiança e a solidariedade social. Desse modo, a rede de relacionamentos entre a instituição e as comunidades tem como base comum as relações humanas. Enfim, envolve a consolidação dos indicadores de capital social delineados à responsabilidade social institucional, os quais estabelecem uma coesão social para benefícios públicos. / The institutional framework is created by several dimensions. They determine its didactic and pedagogical structure, its organization and management of the institution, planning, assessment and policies. The institutional policies aim at its internal public (teachers, education administrative technical department and students) and external (local community, social groups, municipal, state and federal governments). The social institution, such as public university and, in this case, the Universidade Federal do Pampa (UNIPAMPA), acts along with the internal community, at the same time, assures the external community participation, which might give something back through projects and social contributions. The dissertation aims at outline the social capital indexes for the institutional social responsibility towards Universidade Federal do Pampa, having as reference Robert Putnam?s. The method applied in this work identified categories that appeared pre-analysis, by exploring the material and handling the results. Thus, the following categories are: (a) cooperation and (b) systems of participation. In this perspective, thinking about the institutional social responsibility of UNIPAMPA means to assume its commitment as social agent. In this way, the relationship network between the institution and the communities is based on human relations. Finally, it involves the consolidation of the social capital indexes outlined to the institutional social responsibility, which establishes such a social cohesion for public benefits.
