Jeane dos Reis Passos 06 August 2010 (has links)
This thesis discuss the issue of visually handicapped, who have ingressed or egressed on higher education of São Paulo as information is regarded; identifying how these students realize the information need and how to acquire, understand and use it. Therefore, a bibliographic review has been developed to discuss the historical and conceptual aspects of Information Literacy, as well as its actions aiming students of higher education. The Brazilians visually handicappeds environment was regarded, focusing on higher education and considering the intellectual, technological, access to physical resources and content scenery in which they live in. In this context, a map of abilities and information literacy skills to be developed by visually handicapped was created, starting from Carol Kuhlthaus Information Literacy model named Information Search Process ISP, which shows the development of gathering instruments, the gathering itself and the analysis of the gathered data. Because it is an exploratory study, a qualitative approach was considered, using the user study to create a map of the questions proposed. A semi-structured interview was made with 10 visually handicapped on graduation or postgraduate education. Produced the results from the diagnosis made in the research and study by Christina Doyle which presents a survey of the predicates for a person to be considered \"information literate.\" As a final result, it presents a list of possible actions for the actors of the educational process of the visually handicapped, especially in higher education, can define actions necessary for the development or promotion of Information Literacy programs specific to the visually handicapped, in order to make them competent in information. It was identified that these actions are contained in three dimensions related to the barriers of accessibility: informational, digital and within relationships.

Santos, Flávio Correia 29 August 2014 (has links)
This work aims to analyze the methodologies and resources used by professors of exact sciences in their classes attended by visually impaired students at the Federal University of Sergipe. We opted to carry out qualitative research with a case study approach. The results indicate that it is not enough to implement an affirmative action policy with reserved seats at the university for disabled students. A large number of transformations should also take place in different aspects of the university, such as its physical structure, the faculty´s teaching practices, the curriculum, and also professors´ ongoing development in his/her work as a teacher of exact sciences. We come to the conclusion that the professors surveyed do not regard blind students as their students, but rather as a student of the university, which should be responsible for the learning process experienced by these students.

It focuses on Associação dos Deficientes Visuais do Estado de Goiás (ADVEG) (Association for the Visually Handicapped of Goiás State) in order to analyze the meaning attributed to the concept of citizenship. The study is based on the assumption that actions performed by the visually handicapped contribute to the formation of a political culture that is capable of promoting changes in their lives. This is especially true with regards to the emergence of citizen rights, a new concept of justice, and democratic practices. Theoretical references were extracted from the works of Almeida (1992; 2003), Cruz (2004; 2005), Dagnino (1994; 2002; 2004; 2006), Arendt (1989; 2001; 2007a; 2007b; 2007c; 2007d), and Gohn (1999; 2002; 2003; 2007a; 2007b). By recovering historical aspects of social movements, this research investigated characteristics of the trajectory of organization of visually handicapped people. The aim was to understand the dynamics of this trajectory and, above all, to reveal how this social condition is constructed, as far as the role these people attribute to citizenship is concerned. This study case consists of a qualitative empirical research involving twenty members of ADVEG and it employed semi-structured interviews, observations, and documental analysis in the city of Goiânia. Results indicate that the inclusion of visually handicapped people in the job market remains limited, which reveals a sense of citizenship composed of rights under the perspective of legal achievements previously defined by legislation. This is seldom put into practice, but it is linked to a strategy conveyed by dominant classes and by the State; this strategy aims at a social inclusion policy as a juridical and political condition that is crucial for the implementation of the reigning economic model / O presente estudo, intitulado Cidadania das pessoas com deficiência visual do Estado de Goiás: trajetória, organização e discurso, é resultado da investigação empreendida nos estudos de Mestrado em Educação ligada à Linha de Pesquisa: Formação e profissionalização docente, da Faculdade de Educação da Universidade Federal de Goiás.

Rodrigues, Maria Rita Vitor Martins 06 May 2010 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2014-12-17T15:04:54Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 MariaRVMR_DISSERT.pdf: 1639634 bytes, checksum: 470f12cf771e43fc03026d077c8a66ea (MD5) Previous issue date: 2010-05-06 / Discussions over the topic of inclusion of handicapped people at school are considered recent, but they have become more and more frequent within the national and international scenario. Such discussion has also being inserted in the speeches and actions of the school institution and with the formation of educators. This investigation is made necessary as a way to collect elements to reconsider the actions for the inclusion of the special education need youth. In special the visually handicapped ones, at Instituto Federal de Educa??o, Ci?ncia e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN). The creation of a support unit functions as main vehicle for the actions of the institution. It is intended to know what young people with limitations have to say regarding their experiences as a way to signal paths to be and not to be followed by the support unit. Therefore, the experience which these young boys and girls have is of crucial importance. In order to accomplish the task, it was decided to use methodological elements based upon elements supported by the life reports of two deficient students here called Borges and St?fano. Their reports are from childhood to their arrival at IFRN. From their reports, categories appeared: childhood and the role of family; school life and, finally, related to the actions of the support unit of IFRN, being divided in inclusive actions and obstacles. The first one takes a second look at the actions of the family within the learning-teaching process of these students. The second category presents the moment in which students started to receive formal education per se. The last category constitutes the cornerstone of the investigation, for it analyses the process of inclusion in the institution, according to the perception of the students with visual limitations. The results signaled the need for shared intervention between students with Special Education Needs and school professionals in the elaboration of the Educational Planning, which guarantees the defense of the rights to an efficient teaching practice and effective in the process of inclusion of these students / As discuss?es sobre inclus?o de pessoas com necessidades especiais na escola s?o relativamente recentes, mas toma corpo no ?mbito internacional e nacional.

DRAHOZALOVÁ, Šárka January 2011 (has links)
In my thesis I dealt with the issue of health education and integration of visually disable pupils attending the first degree (1st - 5th grade) of primary schools through physical activities + development of spatial orientation. The theoretical part determines basic terms and definitions which are related to this issue. Practical part is focused on the project called "Week of Health" which positively influenced all the pupils. The learners were acquainted with yoga and with innovative kinestetic activities in which it was necessary to use mainly the auditory and haptic perception. During the whole week the education was focused on healthy nourishment and proper lifestyle of young learners.

The main aim of the thesis is to identify the barriers which visually handicapped people have to face that affect their employment, and subsequently assess the effectiveness of the project "How to succeed in the labour market." This thesis firstly discusses the theory of employment of people with visual disabilities. Apart from the definition of "person with visual impairment" as such the thesis discusses the importance of job as one of the tools to meet self-realization needs and also possibilities of support when the job is lost.
