Étude du rôle des professionnels de l'information dans les systèmes d'information Web du Gouvernement fédéral canadienDufour, Christine 10 1900 (has links)
Les professionnels de l'information traversent actuellement une période de redéfinition de leur profession provoquée par la transformation de l'information et des processus informationnels vers un mode de plus en plus électronique. Les systèmes d'information Web (SIW) — c'est-à-dire des systèmes d'information basés sur les technologies Web tels que les sites Web externes, les intranets, les systèmes de commerce électronique et les extranets — font partie des technologies à l'origine de ces changements. Ces systèmes sont de plus en plus adoptés par les organisations et, en particulier, par les gouvernements dans leur volonté de devenir électroniques. Le gouvernement fédéral canadien est reconnu comme un des plus innovateurs en matière de SIW et doit adapter son environnement informationnel, dont font partie les professionnels de l'information, à l'introduction de ces systèmes. Malgré l'innovation que les SIW représentent, peu d'études empiriques ont été menées pour identifier quels sont les intervenants nécessaires à leur mise en place. Aucun consensus n'émerge de la littérature quant à la nature de l'intervention des professionnels de l'information dans ces systèmes.
Cette recherche vise à accroître les connaissances sur l'intervention des professionnels de l'information dans les SIW. Pour les besoins de cette recherche, les professionnels de l'information sont définis comme les personnes ayant une maîtrise en bibliothéconomie et sciences de l'information ou toute autre formulation équivalente. Cette recherche étudie quatre questions de recherche qui portent sur : (1) les rôles des professionnels de l'information décrits dans les politiques d'information pan-gouvernementales liées aux SIW ainsi que ceux des autres intervenants mentionnés en lien direct avec les SIW, (2) les types de SIW dans lesquels les professionnels de l'information interviennent, (3) les tâches des professionnels de l'information dans ces SIW, et (4) les autres intervenants qui travaillent dans ces systèmes. Une approche qualitative a été utilisée pour répondre à ces questions et implique quatre modes de collecte des données : (1) des entrevues en profondeur en personne avec des professionnels de l'information impliqués dans des SIW, (2) une analyse des SIW où interviennent ces professionnels de l'information, (3) une analyse des politiques pan-gouvernementales liées aux SIW, et (4) la documentation pertinente. Les professionnels de l'information rencontrés proviennent de sept ministères du gouvernement fédéral canadien, ministères retenus pour leur implication dans les SIW.
Les résultats indiquent que les professionnels de l'information rencontrés interviennent dans les SIW aux niveaux micro et macro, c'est-à-dire dans des SIW spécifiques ainsi que globalement au niveau de l'ensemble des SIW d'un ministère ou du gouvernement fédéral. Ces professionnels de l'information sont impliqués dans toutes les dimensions et les phases de développement des SIW. Les tâches liées au contenu sont prédominantes mais les tâches technologiques sont aussi très présentes. Trois variables se dégagent de cette étude qui ont un impact sur l'intervention des professionnels de l'information dans les SIW : les types de SIW, les types de postes occupés par les professionnels de l'information et les types de gouvernance. / Information professionals are rethinking their role, which is being challenged by the transformation to the electronic environment of information and information processes. Web information systems (WIS) — that is, information systems based on Web technologies such as external Web sites, intranets, extranets and electronic commerce systems — are one of the technologies that is bringing these changes about. Organizations are making massive investments in WIS. Governments are implementing WIS as they move toward e-government. The Canadian federal government is one of the most innovative in term of WIS, and has to adapt its information environment, including information professionals, to cope with these systems. Despite the innovative character of WIS, few empirical studies were found which try to gain a better understanding of the players needed to implement such systems. No consensus seems to exist in the literature on the role of the information professional in WIS.
This study aims at increasing knowledge of the roles information professionals play in WIS. In this study, an information professional is someone with a graduate degree in library and information science or equivalent. The study examines four research questions: (1) the role of information professionals described in the WIS-related cross-governmental information policies as well as those of the other players directly related to WIS, (2) the types of WIS in which information professionals are involved, (3) the WIS-related tasks of information professionals, and (4) other players involved in WIS. A qualitative approach has been used based on four data collection techniques: (1) in-depth face-to-face interviews with information professionals involved in WIS, (2) an analysis of the WIS in which those information professionals are involved, (3) an analysis of the WIS-related pan-governmental information policies, and (4) relevant evidence in the existing documentation. The information professionals interviewed are from seven departments of the Canadian federal government. These departments were chosen because of their work in the area of WIS.
The results show that information professionals are working with WIS at the micro and macro levels, involved with specific WIS as well as with all the WIS of a department or of the government. The information professionals are involved in all the dimensions and the development phases of WIS. Their content-related tasks on the WIS are predominant but the technological tasks are also very present. The master`s thesis deals with a concept of a web information system, designed to manage clients of a wireless network based on Mikrotik routerboards. The system allows the internet provider to have a great survey over all clients of the wireless network and to manage the settings of Mikrotik based network hardware. Furthermore, it offers an ability of signal strength monitoring and data accounting. The thesis has been split into two sections. The first one describes the information system as such, used platforms, equipment, running services and server configuration. The second section is fully focused on the analysis of the application security, database schema design and functional forms. The strongest emphasis has been put to the conjunction of the Mikrotik OS based routerboards with a web server and to the testing in a real environment.

The topic of the master thesis is focused on the design of information system which is designed on the base of the analysis of existing information systems available in the Czech Republic. This analysis is focused on finding uncovered areas. Evaluation of information systems is based on a multicriterial selection analysis, which can specify a minimally covered area. The aim of the master thesis is to show undiscovered possibilities of information systems maintaining the various types of information. The first part is focused to characteristics of information systems, its kinds and types. This part is focused to architecture and to methods of information systems design, too. The second part is focused on analysis of the existing information systems. The aim is to identify areas that are not sufficiently covered. The third part is focused on design of an information system based on the analysis of uncovered areas in the first part. In the last section is documentation of created an information system.

The goal of this paper is to propose a web design method for developing information system to efficiently and effectively support the multi-project management processes. A construction project is used as an example to illustrate how the proposed approach is applied to enable electronic applications for the construction business. A hybrid modeling technique is adopted during the application analysis and conceptual design stages that integrates hypermedia node-link model and object-oriented model. As for physical implementation on the WWW environment, object-oriented programming design and software integration approaches are used to achieve the goal.

Atualmente há uma demanda crescente por aplicações hipermídia baseadas na WWW (World Wide Web), conhecidas como WIS (Web Information Systems). Esse novo tipo de aplicação apresenta requisitos adicionais aos sistemas de software clássicos, o que resulta na necessidade de investigar modelos mais adequados para apoiar o seu desenvolvimento. Em especial, os sistemas para apoio ao EaD (Ensino a Distância) baseados na Web apresentam características e requisitos ainda mais específicos. Os modelos atuais para modelagem e especificação de hiperdocumentos não são completamente adequados para representar características deste domínio, como a necessidade de acompanhamento dos aprendizes e a realização de avaliações diagnósticas e formativas. Isso motivou a proposta de um modelo para apoiar WISs voltados especificamente para EaD, denominado MDE (Modelo para Documentos Educacionais), que estende o modelo HMBS (Hyperdocument Model Based on Statecharts) para a descrição de conteúdo nesse domínio. O MDE adota como modelo formal subjacente uma variante da técnica Statecharts, cuja estrutura e semântica operacional possibilitam especificar a estrutura organizacional e a semântica navegacional de hiperdocumentos complexos. Adicionalmente, foi integrada ao MDE a técnica de mapeamento conceitual, que acrescenta um significado educacional aos grafos hierárquicos. Dessa forma, o modelo apresenta como pontos fortes a possibilidade de captar várias informações relevantes do comportamento do usuário no estudo do material disponível on-line e a disponibilização desses dados ao instrutor, como importante apoio à avaliação formativa. Como prova de conceito, foi desenvolvido o protótipo de um ambiente para autoria e oferecimento de cursos denominado ATEnA (Ambiente para Treinamento, Ensino e Aprendizagem). Current models for hyperdocument modeling and specification are not completely suitable for representing domain specific characteristics such as the need of tracking student progress and evaluating their learning process through diagnostic and formative assessments. This scenario motivated the proposal of a model to support WISs targeted at distance education, called MDE (Model for Distance Education). MDE extends the HMBS (Hyperdocument Model Based on Statecharts) hyperdocument model to describe hypertext content in the educational domain. It adopts as its underlying model a variant of the Statecharts formal specification technique, whose organizational structure and operational semantics allows defining the organizational structure and navigational semantics of complex hyperdocuments. MDE also incorporates the technique of conceptual mapping, that adds educational meaning to hierarchical graphs. MDEs major strengths are thus the ability to capture relevant information about user behavior when studying on-line educational material and make such information available to the teacher / instructor in order to support formative assessment of students. As a proof of concept, the prototype of an environment for authoring and offering distance courses based on MDE has been developed, called ATEnA (Adaptive Training Environment with Support for Assessment).
