Por meio de sua aplicação, resultados significativos de produtividade e estabilização de processos têm sido alcançados. Na construção, sua aplicação é ainda embrionária, sendo observadas ações parciais, não existindo ainda conhecimento suficiente sobre as melhores práticas que tragam resultados tão significativos quanto os observados na manufatura. O objetivo desta pesquisa é propor um método para aplicação do trabalho padronizado em serviços de construção. A estratégia de pesquisa utilizada foi a Design Science Research (DSR). Para tanto foram realizados três estudos de caso, com o intuito de desenvolver e validar esse método, que partiu de uma base utilizada para a manufatura, adaptando-o a especificidades da construção, tendo na forma final dez etapas e uma tabela que relaciona as etapas aos documentos do trabalho padronizado utilizados, dando assim uma orientação prática que facilita a aplicação do trabalho padronizado a serviços de construção. Os resultados indicam que ao aplicar o método a produtividade dos funcionários dobrou, a satisfação melhorou e houve redução de desperdício no ambiente de trabalho. Como sugestão para trabalhos futuros, indica-se o teste prático deste método em outros serviços de construção, inclusive que utilizem maquinário, e a avaliação de outros aspectos, como: qualidade do serviço, segurança e ergonomia / Abstract: Standardized work has been widely used in manufacturing. Through its application, results have been achieved, such as significant productivity and process stabilization. In construction, its application is still incipient, with partial applications, and there is not yet sufficient knowledge on the best ways to apply and to produce results as important as in manufacturing. The objective of this research is to propose a method for standardized work application in construction services. The research strategy used was Design Science Research (DSR). Therefore, we performed three case studies, in order to develop and validate this method. The method started from a base used for manufacturing, adapting it to the specifics of construction, taking into final form ten steps and a table that lists the steps and relates these steps to standardized work documents, thus giving practical guidance that facilitates application standardized work construction services. The results indicate that by applying this method doubled the productivity of employees, employee satisfaction was improved and waste was reduced in the workplace. Suggestion for future studies indicates the practical test of this method in other building services, including the ones that use machinery and evaluation of other aspects, such as quality, safety and ergonomics / Mestrado / Arquitetura e Construção / Mestre em Engenharia Civil

M.A. (Socialis Scientiae) / The gist of this extended essay is an exploration of the skills necessary to perform the planning function in management. The text is presented in two parts - a literature study and a documentation of the findings of an empirical investigation. In order to place the planning function in perspective the candidate starts by defining management as such and then discusses management in the research domain in which three specialist fields converge - management science, social work and health. Since the respondents function within the boundaries of a government setting, the influence of beaurocracy on management is included in the discussion. Subsequently all the managerial functions are described and the candidate indicates why planning is seen as the primary managerial function - it precedes all the other functions and in addition to having the status of an independent generic function, it is implicitly imbedded in the other functions. Eight categories of skills required in planning are identified: Visionary, projection, analytical, political, interactional, value-clarification, decision-making, and time-management skills. In each of these categories some abilities on the part of those who plan are indicated. The candidate then suggests a model for planning based on the literature that could be used in developing an integrated planning system for medical social workers. In the empirical part of the study the candidate attempts answering the following questions: 1. Are all the skills as mentioned in fact used by the respondents (in this case the top management section of the sub directorate of Social Work of the Branch: Health Services of the Transvaal Provincial Administration) and if they are used, how often? 2. With regard to which of these skills do respondents require extended training? Findings indicate that the respondents apply all 8 categories of skills and regard the majority of the 50 abilities as prerequisites. Learning needs were reported in respect of 13 of the abilities listed. Throughout this study the significance of the planning function in management is emphasized and the argument that managers need to develop specific knowledge and skills in order to perform effectively and efficiently is furthered.

Abstract Titel: Verksamhetsstyrning med datoriserade IT-verktyg Författare: Helena Falck Brismark och Marlene Gadestedt Nivå: C-uppsats i ämnet företagsekonomi Handledare: Stig Sörling och Tomas Källquist Datum: januari 2015 Syfte: Syftet med den här studien är att belysa fördelar och nackdelar med IT-baserade verktyg vid styrning och planering av daglig verksamhet i offentlig sektor. Metod: Denna studie har ett hermeneutiskt perspektiv som utgångspunkt. Arbetet med studien har skett med en abduktiv ansats, vilket har medfört en interaktion mellan teori och empiri materialet vilket innehåller erfarenheter av IT-verktyg. Vi har här studerat IT- verktyget Laps Care. Den teoretiska referensramen har starkt påverkats av det empiriska materialet. Studien är en kvalitativ fallstudie med ostrukturerade intervjuer i fokus grupper. Grounded theory har varit inspirationskälla när material har bearbetats samt analyserats. Resultat & slutsats: De intervjuade i studien gav en samstämmig bild av de för- och nackdelar de upplevdes vid användningen av IT-verktyget. Studien visar att det finnas många fördelar med IT-verktyg i verksamhetsplaneringen och endast ett fåtal nackdelar. Till fördelarna hör t.ex. lättare tillsättning av vikarie, automatisk anpassning av arbetsbelastning och säkerställande av rätt avtalad tid till kunden. En av nackdelarna som framkom var att sambesök kan upplevas som stressande. Slutsatsen är även att IT-verktyget var sårbart vid eventuella strömavbrott. Studiens bidrag: Vi har i denna studie sett att upplevda nackdelar med ett nytt IT-verktyg efter en tid kan förändras och upplevs då som fördelar. Studie bidrar även med att IT-verktyg som planerar för aktiviteter som inbegriper människor behöver ha en flexibilitet. Det har även visat sig att det är viktigt att IT-verktyget tar hänsyn till alla komponenter i en verksamhet. Förslag till vidare forskning: Det har diskuterats att IT-verktyget som har använts i denna studie, kan komma att utökas med en ytterligare komponent. Om så är fallet vore det av intresse att ta reda på personalens erfarenheter av en sådan förändring med tonvikt på flexibilitet. Vi anser även att det skulle vara intressant att se på hur olika generationer ser på IT-verktygets fördelar och nackdelar. Method: This study has a hermeneutic perspective as a starting point. The study has been conducted in an abdicative approach, i.e. an interaction between theory and the empirical material which contends experience with IT-tool. We have studied the IT-tool called Laps Care. The theoretical framework has been strongly influenced by the empirically material. The study is a case study with a qualitative approach in which unstructured interviews with focus groups have been made. Grounded theory has been the source of inspiration when the material has been processed and analyzed. Result & Conclusion: The interviewed in the study gave a consistent picture of the advantages and disadvantages they experienced when using the IT-tool. The study shows that there are many advantages with IT-tools in operations planning and just a few disadvantages. The advantages are for example, easier addition of temporary staff, automatic regulation of workload, and ensuring the correct time consumption to the customer. One of the disadvantages that emerged was that joint visits may be perceived as stressful. It is also concluded that the IT tool was vulnerable in the event of power failure. Contribution of the thesis: We have in this study found that perceived disadvantages of a new IT tool for a period of time can change, and then perceived as advantages. The study also contributes to IT tools that planning for activities involving people need to be flexible. It has also been shown that it is important that the IT tool takes into account all components of a business. Suggestions for future research: It has been discussed that the IT-tool, which is used in the present study, could be expanded with an additional component. If so, it would be of interest to observe how the staff experiences such a change with particular emphasis on flexibility. Several studies indicate failures in project management, highlighting the existence of problems related to planning and control of construction works, as the most recurring. The critical chain is an application of the theory of constraints in project management that aims to meet the deadlines, through the lungs management of consumption. In this context, the present study evaluates the implementation of the critical chain methodology in a physical planning using Ms Project as management software, in a construction work company. The methodology used was a case study and was conducted in two projects, located in the cities of Guapó and Palmeiras de Goiás, in the State of Goiás. According to the study, as the application in construction work, the results show that the Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) can be applied in compliance with all steps recommended by the theory. Regarding the fulfillment of the project’s deadline, the study showed that in companies with emphasized problems in planning and financing, delays continue. In the financial aspect, we noticed that the delay in transferring funds by the funding agency, attached to the Federal Government, to the company impacted directly on planning the purchase of materials, equipment and workforce. The methodology of critical current proved to be applicable to the construction work sector and the Ms Project software, but with limitations. Among the limits, it is worth mentioning the use in very extensive schedules and the carrying out of steps without the aid of automatic functions or the method known as "manual", in Ms Project. As a solution to this limitation, the study presents the use of Ms Project on critical chain using automatic routines (macros). As a result, while using the "manual" it was noticed a significantly higher period of time, compared with the automatic, in addition to the possibility of errors in data entry and reworking. In automatic method, the time is reduced and errors and reworking are eliminated. Both in the "manual" method, as the automatic method, the steps of creating convergence lungs and the late start of the tasks are not feasible for long schedules, which are characteristic of real estate undertakings of social interest. / Observa-se que, mesmo com a diversidade de ferramentas computacionais, aliada à gestão, constata-se a ineficiência no cumprimento dos prazos de projetos na construção civil. Diversos estudos apontam para as falhas no gerenciamento de projetos, destacando-se a existência de problemas relacionados ao planejamento e controle em obras, como os mais recorrentes. A corrente crítica é uma aplicação da teoria das restrições em gerenciamento de projetos que tem como objetivo atender aos prazos estipulados, por meio do gerenciamento do consumo dos pulmões. Diante desse contexto, a presente pesquisa avalia a aplicação da metodologia da corrente crítica, em um planejamento físico, utilizando o Ms Project como software de gestão, em uma empresa da construção civil. A metodologia utilizada classifica-se como estudo de caso e foi realizada em dois empreendimentos, localizados nas cidades de Guapó e de Palmeiras de Goiás, Estado de Goiás. De acordo com a pesquisa, quanto à aplicação na construção civil, os resultados apontam que a Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) pode ser aplicada cumprindo todos os passos preconizados pela teoria. Quanto ao cumprimento do prazo do projeto, a pesquisa mostrou que, em empresas com problemas acentuados de planejamento e financeiros, os atrasos continuam. No aspecto financeiro, pode-se constatar que o aumento no tempo de repasse financeiro pelo órgão financiador, ligado ao Governo Federal, para a empresa, impactou diretamente no planejamento da aquisição de materiais, de equipamentos e mão de obra. A metodologia da corrente crítica se mostrou aplicável ao setor da construção civil e ao software Ms Project, mas com limitações. Dentre as limitações, destaca-se a aplicação em cronogramas muito extensos e a realização dos passos sem o auxílio de funções automáticas ou denominado, nesta pesquisa, de método “manual”, no Ms Project. Como solução para essa limitação, a pesquisa apresenta a utilização do Ms Project para a corrente crítica, por meio de rotinas automáticas (macros). Como resultados, no método “manual” se percebe um tempo significativamente elevado, comparado com o automático, além da possibilidade de inserção de erros de dados e de retrabalhos. No método automático, o tempo é reduzido e os erros e retrabalhos são eliminados. Tanto no método “manual”, quanto no método automático, os passos de criação de pulmões de convergência e o início tardio das tarefas não são viáveis para cronogramas extensos, característicos para empreendimentos habitacionais de interesse social.
