Lectures du corps mort dans des cuentos hispano-américains contemporains / Death and its dead body : what literature teaches us about it? A study of the corpse in contemporary Latin American short stories

Barbu, Andra 19 November 2018 (has links)
This work explores the dead body as it is represented in a number of contemporary Latin American cuentos in order to establish a typology of the different reactions of human beings in general when faced with death. I suggest that literature reproduces a limited number of universal behaviours in this situation and thus it gives readers a fairly reliable inventory of the attitudes that they, like the characters, are likely to adopt. The corpse as a protagonist of the short stories discussed here has been selected because it is the only concrete and palpable image of death and that, by its repulsive appearance, it represents a terrible source of fear which conditions and alters any intention of peacefully trying to come to terms with it. The theoretical framework of the literary possible worlds whereby fiction is seen as a potential experience, and the formal characteristics of the cuento, such as its reduced, self-contained nature, allow the text to be read as a funerary space where all these fictional dead bodies lie. The reader is thus brought into close contact to the dying/dead, cold, putrid, stinking, dismembered or embalmed body and the literary experiences he/she goes through help him/her to come to grips with the frightening reality of death.

Ferrando Verástegui, Gabriela Jesús 15 February 2019 (has links)
Qualitative study that represents the social imaginaries of an specific group, the Association of Independent Taxi Drivers of Callao, through their life stories. The purpose of this research is to understand the way in which such individuals construct and communicate their relationship with the city. This approach use communication and social imaginary theories by authors like Baeza, Hall, Bourdieu, Gaggiotti, Simmel, among others, to recognize the interpretation of the space through memories, problems, necessities and aspirations. The analysis of fundamental categories, which are found in shared stories, such as migration, fishing in the 50’s, terrorism, job security and current economic situation, allows the access to an everyday environment, the identification of desires for advocacy and awareness and the recognition of past, present and future reality. This input helps reflect about the problems a city faces in terms of economic, social and cultural implications.

Música Contemporânea em Minas Gerais: os Encontros de Compositores Latino-americanos de Belo Horizonte (1986-2002)

Lovaglio, Vânia Carvalho 12 March 2010 (has links)
The aim of this work is to understand the historic process which achieved the construction of the Latin American contemporary music movement in Belo Horizonte, more specifically, the Latin American Composer s Gatherings of Belo Horizonte, held in the years 1986-1988-1992-2002 sponsored by the Fundação de Educação Artística. It was also possible to get knowledge of their artistic cultural programs (works, composers, performers) in which one can found included the production of Brazilian music and music of Minas Gerais, as well as the theoretical questions presented in form of Thematic Panels. As for their importance not only in local, but national and international levels, the Latin American Composer s Gatherings have had a strong social impact in the city of Belo Horizonte in the decades of 1980-90, mainly through the academic scene, contributing to the musical formation of young composers and performers and for the structure of the musical composition area at the Escola de Música da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. As far as the common problems facing Brazil and Latin America on the above decades are concerned, a changing in favor of the Latin American contemporary music passed necessarily by the understanding that the politic and economic aspects were strongly connected with the cultural one. As for their production and musical diffusion, a major participation of all professionals - composers, performers, educators and musicologists - in the sense of interfering in the current teaching musical model practiced in institutions of fundamental, median and college levels.
