This Master thesis deals with construction design of pop-up turntable with load capacity 120 tons and 1500 mm stroke. The driveline will supply by combination of hydromotor and planetary gearbox.The first part of this thesis deals with research in the field of current offer of pop-up turntables and construction elements used in pop-up turntables.Then is acceded to design of 3 different construction variants, of which is chosen one based on evaluation properties of each variant. After this part, follows on constuction design of chosen variant, including both desinging and calculating part. Part of the thesis is also required technical drawing documentation.

This diploma thesis deals with the strength analysis of three-axle frame for containers with driving drum. Total weighth of the trailer is 27 000 kg. Finite elemenths method was used for this calculation in programme I-DEAS. Dangerous parts of the construction were examined and their optimization was proposed. The final part consists of the drawing documentation of the recomended design changes.

The task of this diploma thesis is technical solution for deformation measuring of motorcycle components. By reason of the technical discretion, technology of measurement was changed to another, using image processing. Retrieval which describes fundamental principle of method named photogrammetry and the main conditions of measuring. For a practical testing the carbon composite tube of main motorbike fork was used. It was loaded a with a bending moment. Due to measuring technology was changed, so the design of loading bench was change too. This work deals with the design of chassis for race car category E2 made from aluminium honeycomb sandwich, design of roll cage and conception of engine mount. In the text are FEM analysis, which are focused on torsional rigidity of chassis and strength properties of roll cage.

KIF1A is a molecular motor for membrane-bound cargo important to the development and survival of sensory neurons. KIF1A dysfunction has been associated with several Mendelian disorders with a spectrum of overlapping phenotypes, ranging from spastic paraplegia to intellectual disability. We present a novel pathogenic in-frame deletion in the KIF1A molecular motor domain inherited by two affected siblings from an unaffected mother with apparent germline mosaicism. We identified eight additional cases with heterozygous, pathogenic KIF1A variants ascertained from a local data lake. Our data provide evidence for the expansion of KIF1A-associated phenotypes to include hip subluxation and dystonia as well as phenotypes observed in only a single case: gelastic cataplexy, coxa valga, and double collecting system. We review the literature and suggest that KIF1A dysfunction is better understood as a single neuromuscular disorder with variable involvement of other organ systems than a set of discrete disorders converging at a single locus. / National Institutes of Health / Revisión por pares

The present study evaluated the effects of utilizing derived relational responding protocols to teach non-arbitrary frames of opposition, comparison and distinction to two children with autism across tactile, auditory, and olfactory sensory modalities. Both participants were successful in demonstrating accurate responding across all skill programs, which included the demonstration of transfers of stimulus function. The results for both participants suggest that the programs were effective in fostering skill acquisition among individuals with ASD using the relational frames of opposition, distinction, and comparison by utilizing stimuli with sensory qualities of tactile, olfactory, and auditory modalities respectively.

Due to the massive amount of postconsumer clothing waste, there is a great opportunity to utilize the discarded garments through playful methods push the imagination towards new innovative solutions. This work aims to redefine and give the discarded garments new values through exploring garment definition through characteristic lines of dress as a filter to view a garment. It deals with questions such as, what defines a specific garment and how many lines needs to be added to understand what it is. It was resulted in creation of an archive consisting of 32 pieces which shows the potential in changing the perception of unwanted/discarded garments, by literally reframing them. This work propose a new method for reusing garments without taking the garments apart but instead look at all the potential that is given within it.

I have used weaving as a method to investigate connections between this craft and architecture. The project can be divided into four parts: The first part is a research phase starting from the etymology of the word textile, which derives from the latin word texere which means - to weave, to join, to build, to construct etc. Following the spirit of Gotfried Semper and his ideas in his book “The four elements of architecture” I have built frames to learn the principles of weaving. The second part is a basic research of an attempt to create a prototype for a structural element that is based on previous studies. In part three I illustrate potential areas of use of the elements. In the final conclusive part I reflect upon my work and what I have learned during the project.

Thesis (M. A. (Optom.)) -- University of Limpopo, 2021 / Background: There are several clinical techniques for the subjective measurement of heterophoria. In South Africa, von Graefe is one of the most commonly used techniques to quantify heterophoria using the phoropter. However, most rural community clinics have trial frames rather than phoropters to perform heterophoria measurements and other clinical tests. Heterophoria or phoria is the misalignment of an eye that occurs when binocular sensory fusion is blocked. The distance heterophoria is determined by the tonic vergence resting state and negative accommodative vergence. In distance vision, normal heterophoria is zero. The tonic vergence resting state is the vergence angle dictated by tonic vergence innervation alone. However, during a near heterophoria test, the vergence angle observed involves multiple innervational factors. Blocking binocular fusion eliminates disparity vergence innervation. Because of the dual interaction, the loss of disparity vergence innervation initiates simultaneous changes of accommodation innervation. Purpose: The purpose of the study was to investigate the agreement of von Graefe heterophoria measurement using the phoropter and a trial frame. Setting: The study was conducted at an Optometry Clinic, University of Limpopo, South Africa. Methods: Distance and near horizontal and vertical heterophoria measurements were performed on 88 visually-normal university students using the phoropter and a trial frame. The 95% limits of agreement were compared using the exact Bland-Altman statistical test. To measure the horizontal heterophoria, 12 prism base-in was placed before the right eye and 6 prism base-up before the left eye. The prism in front of the right eye was reduced until the participant reported that the two images were vertically aligned. The vertical heterophoria was measured by reducing the prism in front of the left eye until the participant reported that the two images were horizontally aligned. Zero deviation was recorded as ortho or orthophoria. Results: For distance horizontal heterophoria, the Von Graefe values were 0.39±2.0 and 0.38±1.8Δ with the phoropter and trial frame, respectively. The mean near v horizontal heterophoria were 3.69±3.3 and 4.13±3.27Δ with the phoropter and trial frame. There were no significant differences between the mean heterophorias measured using the phoropter and the trial frame, p ˃ 0.05. For the vertical heterophorias at distance and near vision, the means were close to orthophoria. The mean differences and limits of agreement showed good agreement of Von Graefe test using the phoropter and trial frame. Conclusion: Measurement of Von Graefe testing with the phoropter and trial frame showed a high level of agreement for both distance and near vision performed through the phoropter and a trial frame. For clinical and research purposes, the phoropter and trial frame can be used interchangeably for measuring heterophoria. Keywords: heterophoria, phoropter, trial frame, von Graefe, prism
