Disserta??o (Mestrado) ? For this, coffee plants were grown in hydroponic solution for 50 days after application (DAA) of the herbicide. The study was conducted in a randomized block design (RBD) with a 2x4 factorial design with the first factor related to the route of foliar and root absorption and the second to Assessmentmethodology effect of glyphosate doses used: 0, 115.2, 230.4; and 460.8 g ha-1 corresponding to 0, 8, 16 and 32% of the dose of 1440 g ha-1 isopropylamine salt formulation with 7 replicates. Symptoms of poisoning were characterized by chlorosis and narrowing of the leaf blade 50 and reached 70% for foliar and root uptake, respectively. With increasing rates of the herbicide to 460.8 g ha-1 occurred reductions in stem length, leaf number, leaf area, the leaf mass ratio, the root shoot ratio, the length of roots and masses dried leaves, stem, roots and all. The number of leaves, leaf area, dry weight of root, stem, leaf, every and leaf weight ratio were lower when the herbicide was absorbed by the leaves. Absorption pathways and reduced rates of glyphosate did not alter the behavior of K in the plant, but impaired performance of N, P, Ca and Mg, with all the effects more pronounced when the herbicide was absorbed by the air in relation to root uptake. Conclude that the process of absorption and reduced rates of glyphosate not interfere with the performance of the K young coffee in hydroponic conditions, but compromise the behavior of N, P, Ca, Mg, reducing the growth of these plants. The uptake or translocation of glyphosate and is most effective when absorbed through the leaves.

Hydrogen sulfide, which commonly occurs in oil and gas exploration and production activities, besides being among the gases that are responsible by the acid rain and greenhouse effect, can also cause serious harm to health, leading even to death, and damages to oil and natural gas pipelines. Therefore, the removal of hydrogen sulfide will significantly reduce operational costs and will result in oil with best quality to be sent to refinery, thereby resulting in economical, environmental, and social benefits. These factors highlight the need for the development and improvement of hydrogen sulfide sequestrating agents to be used in the oil industry. Nowadays there are several procedures for hydrogen sulfide removal from natural gas used by the petroleum industry. However, they produce derivatives of amines that are harmful to the distillation towers, form insoluble precipitates that cause pipe clogging and produce wastes of high environmental impact. Therefore, the obtaining of a stable system, in inorganic or organic reaction media, that is able to remove hydrogen sulfide without forming by-products that affect the quality and costs of natural gas processing, transport and distribution is of great importance. In this context, the evaluation of the kinetics of H2S removal is a valuable procedure for the treatment of natural gas and disposal of the byproducts generated by the process. This evaluation was made in an absorption column packed with Raschig ring, where natural gas with H2S passes through a stagnant solution, being the contaminant absorbed by it. The content of H2S in natural gas in column output was monitored by an H2S analyzer. The comparison between the obtained curves and the study of the involved reactions have not only allowed to determine the efficiency and mass transfer controlling step of the involved processes but also make possible to effect a more detailed kinetic study and evaluate the commercial potential of each reagent / O g?s natural, embora seja composto basicamente de hidrocarbonetos leves, apresenta tamb?m em sua composi??o gases contaminantes como o CO2 (Di?xido de carbono) e o H2S (Sulfeto de hidrog?nio).

These substances are fractionated into fulvic acids (FA), humic acids (HA) and humin (H), according to their solubility in acidic or basic medium. HA have been used as fertilizers directly applied to the soil or via foliar, mainly because they influence plants metabolism. The main goal of this study was evaluating, in bean plant (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), the influence of sources and different doses of HA in production, root growth, nutrients absorption and bioavailability of nutrients in the soil. The experiment was conducted using randomized block design with 15 treatments, which are the sources of HA (peat ? 1, compound ? 2 and commercial product ? 3) and doses of HA (0, 2, 8, 16 e 32 kg ha-1), with four repetitions. Evaluations were made on: plants height (cm), stem diameter (cm), chlorophyll content (?g cm-2) and content of macro and micronutrients in the leaves in the flowering stages and in the end of the experiment, seeds weight (g), dry matter of the aerial part and roots (g), number of pods per plant and seeds per pod, and in the soil: pH in water and contents of organic matter, P, K, Ca, Mg, Al and H+Al. Application of HA reduced bean growth and production, with increase of doses in each source, following order: source 3 > source 1 > source 2. Contents of P, K, Cu, Fe, Mn and Zn in the leaves were influenced by the doses of all HA sources. Most of the nutrients quantified in the leaves were reduced with increasing HA doses. Contents of P and K were increased in the soil with application of HA. For tested conditions, the use of HA for bean culture is not recommended.

Trace gases are important to our environment even though their presence comes only by ?traces?, but their concentrations must be monitored, so any necessary interventions can be done at the right time. There are some lower and upper boundaries which produce nice conditions for our lives and then monitoring trace gases comes as an essential task nowadays to be accomplished by many techniques. One of them is the differential optical absorption spectroscopy (DOAS), which consists mathematically on a regression - the classical method uses least-squares - to retrieve the trace gases concentrations. In order to achieve better results, many works have tried out different techniques instead of the classical approach. Some have tried to preprocess the signals to be analyzed by a denoising procedure - e.g. discrete wavelet transform (DWT). This work presents a semi-empirical study to find out the most suitable DWT family to be used in this denoising. The search seeks among many well-known families the one to better remove the noise, keeping the original signal?s main features, then by decreasing the noise, the residual left after the regression is done decreases too. The analysis take account the wavelet decomposition level, the threshold to be applied on the detail coefficients and how to apply them - hard or soft thresholding. The signals used come from an open and online data base which contains characteristic signals from some trace gases usually studied.

An experiment was driven in the Department of Fitotecnia of UFRRJ, in Planossolo, in a randomized blocks design with four treatments and four repetitions of 45 plants for plot, in the spacing of 3x2 m. Four genotypes of the banana were evaluated: Thap Maeo (AAB), FHIA-18 (AAAB), SH3640 (AAAB) and Prata An? (AAB). Only the mother plant was driven per hole, being eliminated the whole sucker. In the first stage, leaves of the four genotypes were sampled eight weeks after transplant (WAT), to determine the correction factor to estimate the leaf area from the length and width of foliar limbo. The angular coefficients of the regression revealed that there are significant differences among genotypes, indicating that in the determination of the leaf area of banana tree by ruler, the factor of correction of 0.79 should be used for cultivar SH 3640, FHIA 18 and Thap Maeo, and 0.83 for Prata An?. The second stage, the temperature and the precipitation arise as the climate factors more related to the rate of leaf emission of the four genotypes.. The genotype Thap Maeo presented larger vegetative cycle (366 days) and total (468 days) and larger plant height (3.0 m) that the other genotypes. The genotypes didn't present differences in the reproductive cycle and in the diameter of plants. The genotype Fhia 18 presented the largest total mass of fruits for plant. The genotype Thap Maeo presented larger medium number of bunches for bunch, the largest of number of fruits for bunch, the largest relationship pulp-peel, however the smallest fruit size. The genotype SH 3640, although presented fruits of greatest weight and size, presented the smallest number of fruits for bunch and the pulp-peel ratio. In the third stage, to quantify the time variation of plant biomass and nutrient accumulation, one plant was sampled per plot on 8 harvests spaced 8 weeks, when the leaf area measured, and the mass and concentrations of N, P, K, Ca, Mg measured in each plant portion. The growth rates and of nutrient accumulation were measured through the functional plant growth analysis. The mass of rhizomes and stems increased up to 48 WAT and stabilized at 56 WAT. The leaf area, and the mass of active leaves and petioles increased up to 40 WAT and stabilizing in the last three harvests. The net assimilation rate increased between 8 and 24 WAT, and declined mainly after 32 SAT. The rates of nutrient accumulation presented the same pattern regarding with the time of maximal accumulation, varying from 30 to 33 WAT. From the total of nutrients accumulated by the banana plant, the bunch exported after fruit harvest 50% of N, 38% of P, 60% of K, 11% of Ca and 14% of Mg. The total amount of nutrient accumulated, in kg per ha, was 54.5 of N, 14.4 of P, 131.5 of K, 62,5 of Ca and 53 of Mg. . DNA samples of these varieties were amplified using 20 primers, only 15 (75%) of which produced amplified fragments, compresing 90 of these were polimorphic fragments. The analysis of the band, profile produced a ?fingerprint?. For the calculation of the similarity index several coefficients were tested: Nei & Li, Jaccard, Ochiai, Russel & Rao, Simple Matching and Rogers & Tanimoto. Comparison among them was carried out through the evaluation of the dendrograms generated by the UPGMA algorithm and by the correlations between the genetic pitches. The coefficients of Nei & Li, Jaccard, and Ochiai discriminated the varieties in three main groups according to their genetic similarities. Our results show that the coefficients of Nei & Li, Jaccard and Ochiai adjusted better the groups with hight genetic similarities. While the coefficients Simple Matching and Rogers & Tanimoto were not as efficient, banding together varieties that are genetically different. In experiments, with the objective to studies the effect of levels (20 or 60 mg N/L) e forms of N (NH4 + and NO3 -) under the kinetics parameters, proton extrusion, the activity of the N-assimilation enzymes and the N-partition in the plant, were conducted in greenhouse, using 5 upland rice varieties (Lageado, IAC 47, Dobradinho, Agulha e Bico Ganga), in nutrient solution. It was observed an ample variation of the kinetics parameters and biochemists, and a distinguishing behavior among varieties in the uptake and use of N. The varieties Agulha and IAC-47 had presented the best combination of KM, Vm?x, GS/GOGAT in conditions of hight avaibility of N- NO3 -, and Bico Ganga, in conditions of low avaibility of N- NO3 - in nutrient solution. In another experiment, with the objective to study the assimilation and remobiliza??o of N in season nitrate conditions, used varieties Sagrim?o, Goiano, Zebu, Agulha, IAC 1278, IR08, Comum Branco, IAC 47 e Ligeiro had been cultivated in nutritional solution. The N-assimilation enzymes were estudied in the leaf blades and root of 62 and 69 days old rice plants, under 20 and 200 mg mgN-NO3 -/L. Under higher nitrate supply had increase the activity of the NR, GS and GOGAT in rice plants. The GS activities had been low in roots, in comparison with the activities observed in leaf. The GOGAT activity was bigger in roots, in both the treatments. The GDH-A activity occurred mainly in tessues foliar. The GDH-D activity occurred in leaf as in roots. The GDH-D activity not occurred in tissues foliar. The activity of the enzymes of N-assimilation was higher in tissues foliar. These results seem indicate the leaves as the main site of NH4 +-N assimilation in rice plants under higher NO3 --supply.

The data obtained by analysis of the elements were arranged in a matrix 10 x 7, seven samples analyzed referring to the seven cities (S?o Jo?o da Chapada, Gouveia, Guinda, Couto de Magalhaes, Wells Caldas, Belo Horizonte and Serro) and ten variables corresponding concentrations of certain elements in MGK-1. Pattern recognition was done using the Analysis of Principal Components Analysis for Hierarchical Groups. This made it possible to identify the Principal Component Analysis groups formed by similarity, based on the weights corresponding to the influences of variables. About five main components accumulated 97.47% of the total variance of the data being the main component of a number (01) accumulated approximately 38.21% of the variance and the principal component number three (03) approximately 16.13% variance. The groups formed in the Principal Component Analysis were confirmed in the Hierarchic Cluster Analysis, formed four groups, indicating a greater similarity in the samples of Gouveia and Couto Magalh?es. In the second stage of the study aimed to classify and characterize chemically the guarana soda type, in different Brazilian states were analyzed in relation to different concentrations of metals and compounds by atomic absorption and infrared spectroscopy respectively. To sort the drinks at different locations, we used the results of the analyzes exploratory analysis based on Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The best separation was accumulated at variance with the CP2 and CP4, where samples of soft drinks have formed a group and zero samples collected at the RJ and the other group samples Shim also formed a different group of demais. Como conclusion can be noted that methods of pattern recognition in this work presented results that allow the differentiation of samples at different locations.

In the oil industry, natural gas is a vital component of the world energy supply and an important source of hydrocarbons. It is one of the cleanest, safest and most relevant of all energy sources, and helps to meet the world's growing demand for clean energy in the future. With the growing share of natural gas in the Brazil energy matrix, the main purpose of its use has been the supply of electricity by thermal power generation. In the current production process, as in a Natural Gas Processing Unit (NGPU), natural gas undergoes various separation units aimed at producing liquefied natural gas and fuel gas. The latter should be specified to meet the thermal machines specifications. In the case of remote wells, the process of absorption of heavy components aims the match of fuel gas application and thereby is an alternative to increase the energy matrix. Currently, due to the high demand for this raw gas, research and development techniques aimed at adjusting natural gas are studied. Conventional methods employed today, such as physical absorption, show good results. The objective of this dissertation is to evaluate the removal of heavy components of natural gas by absorption. In this research it was used as the absorbent octyl alcohol (1-octanol). The influence of temperature (5 and 40 ?C) and flowrate (25 and 50 ml/min) on the absorption process was studied. Absorption capacity expressed by the amount absorbed and kinetic parameters, expressed by the mass transfer coefficient, were evaluated. As expected from the literature, it was observed that the absorption of heavy hydrocarbon fraction is favored by lowering the temperature. Moreover, both temperature and flowrate favors mass transfer (kinetic effect). The absorption kinetics for removal of heavy components was monitored by chromatographic analysis and the experimental results demonstrated a high percentage of recovery of heavy components. Furthermore, it was observed that the use of octyl alcohol as absorbent was feasible for the requested separation process.
