Arbetslag och tidspress - En studie av lärarutbildares arbetssituation

<p>This essay investigates the work situation for teacher educators at a university with focus on the subject areas education, research and administration. The research questions contain the work situation the teacher educators have, how they apprehend it, and how they find their position within the work organisation. Six interviews have been executed at the teacher education at a university. Some of the results from the investigation indicate that the teacher educators find education to be very a very demanding work and that the split of work during the academic year is uneven. The work with administration before and after the education, for example work with syllabuses and descriptions for courses, are activities demanding much time. In the work situation the teacher educators find themselves to be in a hard situation of work with few possibilities to get help from other teacher educators. A possible solution could be to work more in teams. Team learning in a learning organisation could reduce the time pressure in the teacher education, and possibly be a source of inspiration for the students in their future profession.</p>

Dual Degree Programs in Social Work and Divinity: Graduates' Experiences of Journey Companions

Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / There is a growing trend for graduate schools of social work to offer students the option of receiving dual degrees, which gives students the ability to obtain a Master of Social Work (MSW) along with a second graduate degree in less time than it would take to complete each degree individually. As of 2005, there were approximately 30 different types of degrees that could be combined with graduate studies in social work--one of which is a Master of Divinity (M.Div.). Very little is known about the effectiveness of such programs and the experiences of graduates completing them. The aim of this study was to describe the lived experiences of persons receiving an MSW and an M.Div. from dual degree programs. The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) includes religious and spiritual beliefs in its definition of culturally competent practice within the code of ethics. Dual degree graduates are trained to engage in culturally competent practice by virtue of being extensively trained in the cultural context of the church through their M.Div. degree and extensively trained in the context of social work service delivery though their MSW degree. Dual degree programs in social work and divinity are quite timely given that 96% of Americans say they believe in God or a universal spirit. Phenomenology seeks to understand a particular phenomenon from the point of view of those who have experienced it. With this in mind, this study reports the findings resulting from interviews conducted with 16 graduates regarding their experiences while in a dual degree program. One of the key phenomenological patterns that emerged in all the interviews conducted was that dual degree graduates want “journey companions,” i.e. persons who share their worldview.

The purpose of the study is to investigate foreign-born outside Europe with a foreign academic degree, their experience of meetings and entry into the Swedish labor market. The method we used to achieve the purpose is a qualitative method in the form of semi structured interviews. The analysis method for the study is thematic analysis where common themes were found and discussed based on the theories and previous research results. The purpose of the study has been answered in the result section according to the following theme: Education- obstacles and opportunities, ethnic discrimination and integration in the labor market. In conclusion, the study results clearly show how important it is to highlight the obstacles and opportunities that characterize this academic group in the labor market. The key factors behind an effective establishment according to our result section are better acceptance of foreign academic degree from employers, less waiting time for validation of education, more experience from Swedish labor market and various contacts and networks. / Studiens syfte är att undersöka utrikesfödda utanför Europa med utländsk akademisk examen, deras upplevelser och erfarenheter av möten med och inträden på den svenska arbetsmarknaden. Metoden som vi använt för att uppnå syftet är en kvalitativ studie i form av semistrukturerade intervjuer. Analysmetoden för studien är tematisk analys där gemensamma teman hittades och diskuterades utifrån teorier och tidigare forskningsresultat som utgångspunkter. I resultatdelen har studiens syfte besvarats enligt följande teman: Utbildning -hinder och möjligheter, etnisk diskriminering och integration på arbetsmarknaden. Sammanfattningsvis så visar studiens resultat klart och tydligt hur viktigt det är att belysa de hinder respektive möjligheter som kännetecknar denna akademiska grupp på arbetsmarknaden. De viktigaste faktorerna bakom en effektiv etablering enligt vad vår resultatdel visar på är: bättre acceptans av examen från hemlandet från arbetsgivarnas sida, mindre väntetid för validering av utbildning, mer erfarenhet från svenskt arbetsliv samt olika kontakter och nätverk.

A supervisão em serviço social e a mercantilização do ensino superior: as condições de trabalho do supervisor de campo / College degree merchandise and the social assistance supervision: the work condition of a field supervisor

A presente pesquisa centrou-se em analisar as implicações do processo de supervisão e sua importância para a formação acadêmico-profissional em Serviço Social, tendo como pressuposto o acompanhamento sistemático realizado pelo assistente social junto ao discente, uma das dimensões que envolvem a supervisão, qual seja, a supervisão profissional ou de campo. O objetivo do estudo sobre essa dimensão da formação profissional refletiu o entendimento da realidade profissional, das transformações no mundo do trabalho e as respectivas formas de enfrentamento da questão social. Tratou do processo de supervisão acadêmico-profissional em Serviço Social no município de Ipatinga/MG a partir dos projetos de extensão universitária coordenados pelo curso de Serviço Social da UNIPAC/Campus Vale do aço, onde são desenvolvidas atividades que envolvem ações de assistentes sociais e se constituem em espaços sócio-ocupacionais onde se inserem estagiários. A hipótese do presente estudo é de que existe uma tensão entre a proposta das Diretrizes Curriculares da Associação Brasileira de Ensino em Serviço Social (ABESS), de 1996 e sua efetivação em um contexto de aceleramento de privatização do ensino superior e das condições de trabalho dos profissionais. Os pressupostos relacionados à direção social ou ao aparato legal para a profissão são norteados e conduzidos pelas diretrizes curriculares. E a direção assumida pela profissão a partir das mudanças que vinculam a ação profissional ao projeto societário da classe trabalhadora, demanda novas respostas profissionais, que vão se refletir diretamente numa exigência de um trabalho profissional que ultrapasse o mero fazer cotidiano. Para a apreensão do objeto de estudo, procurou-se discutir a formação profissional mediante o que está preconizado nas Diretrizes Curriculares de 1996. Num segundo momento discutiu-se acerca da mercantilização do ensino superior pós década de 1990 e a UNIPAC nesse contexto. Já no capítulo 3 foram analisadas as particularidades do processo de supervisão de campo no universo dos projetos de extensão da UNIPAC e as condições de trabalho dos supervisores de campo. Nas considerações mais conclusivas é apresentado um balanço da pesquisa realizada, buscando apontar possíveis desafios e tendências para a formação profissional dos assistentes sociais na atualidade. / The present research focused in analysing the envolvement of the supervision process and its importance for the professional-academic degree in Social Assistance, using sistematic checking done by a social assistant altogheter students, one of the dimensions that envolves supervision, such as, field or professional supervision. The studys objective of this dimension of the professional degree reflected the understanding of the professional reality, transformations of world of work and its respective ways of approaching the social issue. It is about the professional-academic supervision in Social Assistance in the city of Ipatinga/MG following university extension projects coordinated by the Social Assistance course of UNIPAC/Campus Vale do Aço, where activities that envolves social assistants are developted, also there are space in certain institutions to insert trainees. The hypothese of the current study it is about the tension between the proposal of the Curriculum Orientation of Associação Brasileira de Ensino em Serviço Social (ABESS), of 1996 and its occurs in the context of fast privatization of the college degree and the professionals conditions of work. All approaches related to the social direction or the legal events for the profession are lead and conducted by the Curriculum Orientation. The direction assumed by the profession comes from changes that link the professional action to the working class social project, demand new professional responses that will reflect directly in one strict kind of professional that goes beyond the simple work routine. To make this work relevant, discussions based on the professional degree were necessary, all this was possible based in what can be found in 1996 Curriculum Orientation. In a second situation other discussions envolving the merchandise of college dregree after the 1990s was also necessary and UNIPAC institution is part of this. In chapter 3 were analised partiularities of the field supervision process in the universe of UNIPAC extension projects and its work conditions. Concluding it shows a balance of the research made, looking for possible challenges and tendencies to the degree of the social assistant professional at current days.

Esse fenômeno da dispensa de professores titulados foi analisado com base nos dados coletados em investigações instauradas pela Procuradoria Regional do Trabalho da 5ª Região, no período de 2006 a 2013. O referencial teórico foi embasado na literatura nacional relacionada ao neoliberalismo, ao capitalismo contemporâneo, à mercantilização da educação superior privada, à precarização do trabalho em geral e do docente do nível superior de educação em particular, ao Direito Constitucional, ao Direito do Trabalho e na legislação que rege a educação superior. A metodologia empregada foi exploratória, qualitativa e descritiva, com a utilização das técnicas de análises documental e de conteúdo. Os sujeitos investigados na pesquisa de campo foram: (01) dirigente sindical, (01) avaliadora do Ministério da Educação, (03) coordenadores de curso superior privado e (04) professores da educação superior privada, perfazendo um total de (09) participantes. Os instrumentos utilizados para a coleta de dados consistiram em entrevistas livres, pesquisas exploratória, bibliográfica e documental, bem como entrevistas semiestruturadas.Os resultados das análises dos dados coletados no decorrer da pesquisa evidenciaram que as dispensas investigadas neste trabalho se configuram como mais um elemento no processo de precarização do trabalho de docentes da educação superior privada de Salvador, que já atinge até a elite desses profissionais. Além disso, essas dispensas também se enquadram no conceito jurídico de discriminação. / The focus of the present study was the dismissal of faculty members holding masters and doctoral degrees, who had been previously hired to fulfill the regulatory requirements to accredit and reaccredit private universities in Salvador with the Ministry of Education or to obtain authorization, recognition and respective renovations of undergraduate courses at that Ministry, soon after the conclusion of the approval procedures. This phenomenon of dismissing professors with high academic degrees in the private universities of Salvador was analyzed from data collected during investigations made by the Fifth District Labor Relations Board between 2006 and 2013. The theoretical framework was based on the Brazilian literature on neoliberalism, contemporary capitalism, the commercialization of private university education, the instability of labor relations in general, and of higher education personnel in particular, and constitutional law, labor law and legislation governing higher education. The methodology used was exploratory, qualitative and descriptive, with the use of documental and content analysis techniques. The subjects investigated in the field research phase consisted of one union leader, one assessor from the Ministry of Education, and three university coordinators and four university professors, all from the private sector, making a total of nine participants. The instruments used for data collection consisted of free interviews and exploratory, bibliographic and documental research, as well as semi-structured interviews. Analysis of the data collected during the study period showed that the dismissals investigated in this study constitute one more element in the process of destabilizing the work of university professors in the private sector in Salvador, which is already affecting even those with the highest academic degrees. Furthermore, these dismissals also fit the juridical concept of discrimination.
