In this thesis, I explore the experiences of some 2,000 allied civilians in the Japanese-run Weihsien Internment Camp () in Shandong, China from 1943 to 1945. Beyond serving as a counterpoint to the Japanese internment in North America during the Second World War, the Weihsien Camp also represents a rare point of contact between Western civilians and the Japanese that came about as part of Japan's effort to sweep away any remaining vestiges of Western colonial society in Asia. Government documents, supplemented by both published and unpublished memoirs, letters, and diaries reveal the ways in which the internee community organised camp life under Japanese guard in a manner that defies straightforward categorisation as either "resistance" or "collaboration." Instead, the internees as a community reached an accommodation to the realities of life in a Japanese internment camp that allowed them considerable latitude and agency in their daily life. / History

The Onsager heat of transport for p-tert-butyltoluene was measured, as part of a series of preliminary experiments towards the determination of the importance of temperature gradients on the air-sea flux of carbon dioxide. The results presented in this thesis imply that the temperature gradient is a major contributor to the magnitude of the air-sea flux. The heat of transport has been measured for the p-tert-butyltoluene system by measuring stationary-state pressure changes for known temperature differences on the vapour side of the interface. At the pressure ranges used the number of mean free paths was always outside the Knudsen zone, but the values of Q* were approximately 100 % of the latent heat of vaporisation. Departures from linearity of plots of P against ΔT are attributed to temperature jumps at the surface of the dry upper plate. Both the results taken for p-tert-butyltoluene and the earlier results for water from this laboratory fit to a Type III BET isotherm, where the c parameter is not constant. They also reveal the importance of the temperature gradient in determining the value of the thermal accommodation coefficient, and provide a new method of measuring thermal accommodation coefficients for a variety of surfaces and vapours

Centrée sur l’intégration professionnelle, cette thèse emprunte un itinéraire de recherche qui, à partir de l’analyse des politiques sociales en faveur des personnes handicapées, se tourne vers l’étude de la réalisation de l’action publique repensée par le prisme de la non-discrimination. Deux axes structurent ce travail de recherche. Le premier axe porte sur l’évolution de la notion de handicap et son incidence sur la conception de l’action publique en direction des personnes handicapées. Le second axe s’articule autour de la mise en acte de l’exigence de non-discrimination à l’égard des personnes handicapées. / Focused on professional integration, this thesis follows a search path that from the analysis of social policies for people with disabilities, turned to the study of the implementation of public policy through the prism of redesigned non-discrimination. Two axes structure this research. The first area focuses on the evolution of the concept of disability and its impact on the design of public policy towards people with disabilities. The second theme focuses on the enactment of the requirement of non-discrimination against people with disabilities.

The goal of this thesis is project of developing accommodation. The main subject is private family business (pension) in spa town called Třeboň located in South Bohemia. In the beginning of this thesis are decribed typological kind of customers, principal and strategy. In the second part are analyzed both outdoor and internal environment of Třeboň. On the basis of this reserch is SWOT analyse comleted. Conclusion of this research are suggestions to attract new customers for Pension Markéta off season on travel packets and mainly decrease energetical demands on maintainance Pension in cold winter season (from October till April).

The topic of this thesis was the development of the services in the selected hotel. The aim of this thesis was to analyze the market conditions, the internal environment and a proposal to improve the management and ensure the competitiveness of Residence at the Black Tower. Using a questionnaire survey among guests and employees, guided interview with a manager and through additional analyzes were prepared design solutions.

Theme of master's project is environmentally friendly accommodation in Prachatice and surroundings. The main objective is to identify friendly approaches in the accommodation offers in the friendly area and assess the significance friendly approaches in the strategy of companies, which offer accommodation. Using the sub-objective is considered the structure of preconditions for development of friendly approaches in the accommodation offers, the uniformity of deploy and preferences of visitors to the friendly approaches in accommodation offer. To meet the objectives was created offer analysis, compiled from online sources and books and analysis of demand through questionnaire survey, which investigated interest of respondents in environmentally friendly accommodation. Data obtained by analysis of offer and demand has led to the creation of proposals for optimizing the development of environmentally friendly accommodation in the area.

Theme of thesis is environmentally friendly accommodation in Trebon and surroundings. The main objective is to identify friendly approaches in the accommodation offers in the friendly area and assess the significance of friendly approaches in the strategy of companies, which offer accommodation. From the survey, in which respondents' interest was investigated in environmentally friendly accommodation, was created demand analysis and based on Internet resources and unstructured interviews analysis of the supply of accommodation. From the observed results were determined proposals and measures for improvement.

The thesis investigates potential improvements of the competitiveness of accommodation in the tourism in the context of sustainability and responsibility based on an analysis of internal and external business environment. The theoretical part deals with the tourism market, a company in tourism, the business environment of the company and its analysis and the reader is also presented with the process and the types of marketing research. In the practical part the selected accommodation is presented and subsequently examined by means of the individual analyses of its internal and external business environments. One analysis also includes the survey conducted among business customers. Analyses of business environment showed that the company has a great potential for further development. Its strengths outweigh the weaknesses. The practical part includes a structured interview with the owner of the company. The research showed that customers are generally very satisfied and recommend the company further. Despite these positive facts it was estab- lished that the occupancy of this accommodation is much lower than it could be. There- fore the measures were suggested that should help the company to solve this problem and also to further develop in the future. It was recommended for example to introduce an online contextual advertising, to use modern volunteer tourism, or crowdfunding.

The main objective of the thesis is to find out the level of food services in the selected facilities through comparative analysis. On the base of primary and secondary information will be determined the food cost of selected catering services and its comparison with other catering establishments. A secondary goal is to obtain an overall view of the menu in the selected catering facilities, raw material costs, method of calculation, or the calculation of food cost and to design the appropriate structure of selected food services in terms of attractiveness and optimal food cost. Acquired knowledge enables to convert the created menu into practice and apply as a potential competitive advantage of the catering facility.

The presented thesis deals with problems of the tourism services enterprises. The main objective is to identify conditions for possible development of the accommodation services enterprises. Two partial goals were set up so as the main objective is fulfilled. First partial objective concerns the problems of the location of the accommodation establishment in the close connection of the potential to attract the tourism participant to the related area. Second partial objective is to identify factors that influence the satisfaction of the tourism participant who has visited the researched area and that relate the keeping the visitor staying longer time in the accommodation establishment or in the related region. The problems of the concept being solving is very large and include dealing with questions that touch a number of theories concerning not only entrepreneurship itself but also economy, management, marketing as well as the spatial and regional science and humanities.
