Spolupráce leteckých dopravců / Cooperation amongst Air Carriers

Huňak, James January 2014 (has links)
The thesis deals with the issue of cooperation amongst air carriers. There are mentioned several forms of cooperation in this field: bilateral agreements, global airline alliances and also very specific and current ways of cooperation which are mergers and acquisitions. The last mentioned forms are illustrated on specific examples of important European airlines which decided to improve their competitiveness by joining other air carrier or acquiring relevant stake in other airline. The trend of concentration in the aviation area has naturally affected Czech air transport market as well; therefore this thesis includes a separate chapter concerning acquisition of Czech Airlines by Korean Air which bought a 44 % stake in Czech flag air carrier. There are analyzed in detail the main impacts of the transaction from different points of view, including potential synergistic effects resulting from the cooperation. The thesis also deals with the recently established cooperation between Czech Airlines and its rival airline Travel Service which plans to buy a 34 % stake in Czech national airline and to become its legitimate shareholder besides Korean Air. Vymanění se z nadvlády a ustanovení nezávislé politiky: Analýza saúdsko-katarských vztahů a jejich dopad na oblast Perského zálivu / Breaking free from the dominance and establishing independent policy: The analysis of Saudi-Qatari relations and its implications on the region of the Persian Gulf

Denk, Matěj January 2021 (has links)
The main topic of the thesis Breaking Free from the Dominance and Establishing Independent Policy: The Analysis of Saudi-Qatari Relations and its Implications on the Region of the Persian Gulf is a thorough analysis of the historical developments of bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar. This hierarchical relationship between the two states is analysed according to the theories of alliance formation, MENA foreign policy analyses and international hierarchy. The aim of the thesis is to ascertain how Qatar was able to break free from the subordinate position within the hierarchical relationship with Saudi Arabia. Contrary to other existing research within the field which explains the end of subordination mostly with the crisis in the dominant state, the present thesis addresses other possible factors in the subordinate state that ultimately cause the evasion of the subordination with particular emphasis on the case study in question. The thesis proposes a classification of several distinct eras in Saudi - Qatari relations and verifies them against the theories described above. The thesis' findings support the hypothesis that subordinate states can evade the subordination without a crisis in the dominant, but only in a very specific set of circumstances, which...

Who is this Servant? It is not intended to know who historically was the Servant of YHWH, as this is an impossible task. It is intended to raise some clues from the historical context and the actual text of Deutero-Isaiah that leads to consider the possibility that an exile community in Babylon was called servant and destined by YHWH for such a mission. In the passage from Isaiah 42.1 to 9, YHWH calls the Servant for a very specific mission. This right that Servant will come out to the nations is the right to happen for the nations. This is about the law of the Lord, that manifested in the release of all prisoners. The Servant with his silent and prophetic postures, with his solidarity practice to the sufferers and his tenacity will carry forward this project of liberation. Through exegetical procedures and theoretical framework of different authors who have already researched on this topic, it intends to investigate the possibility that this song of the Servant of YHWH arises a Theology of the Servant who is deeply in tune with the Being of YHWH himself. Thus, YHWH - Servant carries the same concrete project of liberation that is founded in the justice and right. Awakens among the suffered people, a new model of political leadership.

Burzovní aliance a nové finanční trhy ve světě / Stock exchange mergers, alliances and new financial markets

Znojová, Anna January 2011 (has links)
In my final thesis, I focus on the various forms of Stock Exchange's cooperation and try to outline the impact of deregulation and globalization to Stock Exchange Markets organization. I mentioned the theoretical background, which were used as a basis for analyzing the topic of consolidation of stock exchanges. In the introduction I explain some basic terms, such as mergers, union or federation, and clarify the difference between cooperation and consolidation. Then I focused on the first transatlantic alliance and one of the most important entities in the Stock Exchange markets - NYSE Euronext. I evaluated the alliance of the three selected indicators, the market capitalization, trading volume and market velocity. The analyze carried out in my thesis shows that the regulatory authorities allowed in the past the establishment of Stock Exchanges alliances, which are currently the largest and most important players on the Stock Exchanges markets, and it is really difficult for regional markets to compete them. This problem is, in particular, outlined in the case of Deutsche Börse, which sought to be connected with the transatlantic alliance NYSE Euronext., but this merger was rejected by the European Commission, just for fear of disruption of market competition. As the evidence that the Stock Exchange markets are constantly busy and that all exchanges are trying to reach the best position and thus are seeking for the best possible partner for future cooperation, I introduced two recently published plans for connections, which was merger between Deutsche Börse and the Russian stock exchange MICEX and merger of Intercontinental Exchange and NYSE Euronext. At last but not least I focused on the analysis of the Asian continent from the perspective of realized and unrealized mergers where Stock Exchange markets are not oversaturated and still have a huge potential for further development.

What Makes an Air Route Profitable? Airport Presence, Low-Cost Carriers and Airline Alliances in the Deregulated European Aviation Market / Determinanty ziskovosti leteckých tras v Evropské unii

Tománková, Ivana January 2014 (has links)
This thesis examines the determinants of air route profitability in the European Union and the cooperating countries of Norway and Switzerland. Building on the assumption that only profitable routes are served, I develop a set of probit models that specify route service as a function of route characteristics, airline networks' attributes, airline partnerships and competition. Estimation results show that route profitability increases with population size and decreases with flight distance and the time efficiency of car travel relative to air travel. An airline's airport presence, that is, its share of airport operations, exerts a significant, positive effect on its route profitability, and so does airport presence of its group or allied partners. Competitive effects are asymmetric across airline business types. This paper's contribution to existing airline-route profitability studies lies in accounting for airline cooperation, controlling for an alternative mode of transport, and using EU data for estimation.
