Dynamika bezpečnostních vztahů Polska a USA: motivace spolupráce a současný vývoj / The dynamics of Poland-U.S. security relations: motivation for cooperation and current developmentsKučová, Markéta January 2021 (has links)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the topic of Poland-United States bilateral relations, the form of which results, among other things, from the geographical location and historical experience of Poland. This bilateral cooperation has a major impact on events in the region, making it a very relevant topic to explore in the light of current developments on the international scene. The work is conducted in the form of a case study and its purpose is to analyse the dynamics of Poland-United States cooperation, while the basic premise of the research is the asymmetric form of Polish-U.S. bilateral relations. The aim is to point out that relations between Warsaw and Washington are, by their development and current form, based on consensus rather than coercion from the position of a stronger partner. Glenn H. Snyder's alliance security dilemma is used in this work to analyse the dynamics, too. Due to the conceptualization of strategic culture as a context of strategic behaviour, the work also provides a relatively detailed insight into Polish strategic culture, which serves as a tool for better understanding of Polish foreign policy, security priorities and thus motivation to maintain significant relations with the United States. It is precisely the form of these relations that opens the opportunity...

Stálá strukturovaná spolupráce a Evropská intervenční iniciativa jako předstupně jednotné evropské armády / Permanent Structured Cooperation and European Intervention Initiative as Preludes of a Single European ArmyUrban, Patrik January 2021 (has links)
The master's thesis focuses on the potential of two recently launched initiatives, The Permanent Structured Cooperation and The European Intervention Initiative, to serve as preludes of the single European army. Both initiatives shared high expectations as vehicles for a relaunch of integration in defence domain in Europe, but do they really move the efforts in this respect forward? To study the two projects, we establish a unique theoretical measurement of defence and security integration, based on the realist concept of the alliance and constructivist concept of the security community. We then ask what constructivist theoretical model for the study of defence integration fits The Permanent Structured Cooperation best, and analogically, which archetype is the most suitable for The European Intervention Initiative. Based on the theoretical underpinnings, we carry out an empirical analysis of both initiatives to find out what novelties they bring to the area of defence. We focused mainly on their governance, institutional fabric and funding. Special attention was paid to varying level of pooled sovereignty. The thesis is built on the content analysis of primary sources and where appropriate on relevant secondary literature.

Varšavská smlouva 1969-1985. Vrchol a cesta k zániku / Warsaw Treaty Organization 1969-1985. The pinnacle and path to dissolutionBílý, Matěj January 2015 (has links)
Ph.D. thesis abstract PhDr. Matěj Bílý The Ph.D. thesis "The Warsaw Treaty Organization 1969-1985. The pinnacle and path to dissolution" analyses inside processes within both political and military structures of the alliance and puts it in the context of the Cold War's development and the events in the Soviet sphere of influence in Europe. It deals mostly with the climax of the Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev's rule, however, attention is paid also to the short intermezzo of his successors, Yuri Andropov and Konstantin Chernenko. The work is based on a broad research in the Czech, Polish and German archives, already published documents and the proper secondary literature. The explanation focuses not only to the development of the organization's mechanisms - it also asses the Warsaw Pact's role as one of the Kremlin's tools for managing the Eastern Bloc. Nonetheless, during Brezhnev's era, the alliance never became an initiator of processes within the Soviet sphere of interest. In fact, the organization's structures were not very initiative. The agenda of meetings was defined elsewhere, most often in Moscow. The activities in the alliance's framework did not constitute a starting-point for the development in the Soviet sphere of influence. On the contrary, the processes within the Warsaw Treaty Organization...

The radio listening and the technical services of Transmissions in the French Résistance, 1940-1945Romon, François 15 April 2015 (has links)
A specific and hardly known way of resistance: the continuation of the fight against the german invader led within the technical services of Transmissions of French army, especially the Groupement des contrôles radioélectriques (GCR), the Radio control Group, immediatly after the armistice of June 1940 and carried on until the final victory. A resistance at the initiative of Transmission officers, which, at the heart of the institutions of the Etat français, French State, have secretly communicated military intelligence to the allied Forces. This latent resistance leads, after november 1942, up to an active resistance by the implementation of a clandestine network, the Service des transmissions nationales (STN), the National Transmissions Service, under the aegis of NAP-PTT, then to its integration, in october 1943, under the name « Groupe Romon », to the resistance network Alliance, as well as the commitment of numerous GCR transmitters in various other resistance networks. The case of a resistance from the inside which has effectively contributed to the final victory of the Allied, despite a systematic and ferocious repression from the occupant.

Systém mobilizace ozbrojených sil České republiky na počátku 21. století: Přežitek minulosti nebo nezbytnost současnosti? / System of Mobilization of The Armed Forces of The Czech Republic in The Begining of The 21st Century:Exces of The Part or Necesserity of The Meantime?Živčák, Štefan January 2009 (has links)
The work analyses the problems with the mobilization system of the Czech armed forces as one of the main elements in the rescue system of the Czech Republic. It is taken as a collective part of the rescue system of the European nation. Author presents hypothesis that somehow the rescue system still has not over come the division of the past when the world was divided geopolitically and the war danger was immediate. On the other side there may be some kind of inability to find the suitable way how to effectively use the professional forces committed to action out of the state. On the base of the historical point of view this work analyses the meaning of the rescue and mobilization system in the optional war conflict. Also it contemplates the changes in the geopolitics system after the year 1989. The first place takes the question whether the Czech rescue system really reflex to the geopolitical changes, whether the activity is effective - the ratio between the danger and economical and human resources. Important part of this work is comparison between the Czech rescue system and the rescue systems of the chosen states of NATO and EU. Author studies the literature, experiences and other sources. From sources the author presents hypothesis, of the possible solution and suitable provision of the new...
