Lietuvoje atlikta nemažai tyrimų, nagrinėjančių sveikų jaunuolių požiūrį ir polinkį į narkotines medžiagas. Ta��iau tam tikrų grupių jaunuolių, šiuo atveju jaunuolių, turinčių klausos negalę, pozicija žalingų įpročių atžvilgiu beveik nenagrinėta . / The spread of addiction is becoming a priority in the health and social policy, as it poses a threat to the development of the society and the quality of life. Quite a few studies have been carried out in Lithuania analysing the attitude and inclination of healthy young people to drugs. However, the position of certain youth groups, in this case – the position of youth with hearing disability, regarding addiction remains hardly ever analysed. As a result, it is quite difficult to get an idea about the specific character and maladies of life led by this group of young people.

Abstract The aim of this thesis is to show how numerous organizations such as CGI Consultant attempt to introduce BI-Solutions through IT and other operational methods in order to deal with large companies, which want to make their competitive market position stronger. This aim is achieved by Gap Analyzing in the BI roadmap and available Data Warehouses based on one of the company projects which were handed over to CGI from Lithuania. The fundamentals in achieving the BI-Solutions through IT, which has built the thesis methodology by research are, data warehousing, content analytics and performance management, data movement (Extract, Transform and Load) and CGI BI methodology, business process management, TeliaSonera Maintenance Management Model (TSM3) and AM model of CGI in the high level. Thesis (MSc (Physics))--University of Stellenbosch, 2008. / Experimental double differential cross sections and analyzing powers for the inclusive 93 Nb(p,α) r and 93 Nb(p, 3He) r reactions have been measured at an incident energy of 160 MeV. The results of this experiment, for emission angles ranging from 15º to 60º as well as previously measured data for 93 Nb(p,α) r at 100 MeV and 59Co(p,α) r at 100 and 160 MeV, have been compared with theoretical calculations based on a direct quasi-free α- cluster knockout mechanism. A computer code has been employed which calculates triple differential cross section and analysing power values using the distorted wave impulse approximation (DWIA). Inclusive double differential cross sections and analysing powers were calculated by integrating over the solid angle of the unobserved proton. It was found that the DWIA is limited in its ability to reproduce the experimental data. Some slight agreements have been observed in the region of large emission energies and small angles. This is consistent with the findings of previous studies based on a direct multi-step analysis which indicated that the first step knock-out reaction dominates in this region.

Today, the average computer user has undoubtedly encountered the PDF format while handling electronic documents. Due to its wide-spread popularity and feature richness, PDF documents are commonly utilized by attackers in order to infect systems with malware. This thesis will present The Extendable Guideline for Analysing Malicious PDF Documents. This work will establish the foundation of the guideline and populate it with a part of the analysis process. The guideline relies on earlier published material in the topic. It is a practical guideline that is followed by the use of a flowchart and can be utilized by an analyst in order to determine if a PDF document is malicious or not. It provides technical background information, suitable analysis techniques, and tools. The guideline structure was developed by using sequential thinking in combination with the divide and conquer paradigm. The thesis will also elucidate commonly applied techniques that are used by malicious PDF authors in order to infect systems, evade detection, and distribute their malicious documents. A commonly utilized function in PDF documents are the JavaScript feature. There are a wide range of other features that are targeted by malicious PDF authors, but they are more rarely encountered. PDF documents are often distributed by attackers by sending them as an attachment in an email, or storing the document on a web server.

Success of a company is obviously influanced by superior desicion making of its management. No matter of size, bussiness, locality, all companies face this fact. In order to be able to utilize all information flowing into, within, out of a company, a manager needs help. The solution could be to build controlling system. The main aim of the thesis is comparison of principles applied in companies and theoretical controlling. Business differences are taken into account. The thesis is divided in two main parts, which lead to fulfilment of the main goal. First part prepares information base for analytic research. It includes description of historical development, controlling tools and tasks. The second part comprises research methods and the most important part of the thesis, which is focused on revealing of aplied controlling within analyzed companies.

The basic mission of the police is to prevent crime and disorder and this translates into measuring police efficiency by the absence of crime and disorder rather than the visible actions taken to deal with crime and restore the violated order. For almost two centuries now, crime prevention has been understood and approached as the core responsibility of the police as they are the active partners who are responsible to activate the community who is the passive partner towards crime prevention. Recently there are scholars, police scientists and researchers who are of the view that the police cannot prevent crime so crime prevention should not be the core function of the police. The study gives a detailed analysis of the proponents and opponents of crime prevention as the core function of the police. This analysis has been provided in the context of the origin of policing through to the modern era in policing in an attempt to find out for which purpose the police had been established for. This is done in order to track down whether the initial purpose for which the police had been established for has changed in modern policing, with the ultimate aim of affirming or negating the proposition by some of the proponents of crime prevention as not the core function of the police, who are of the view that crime prevention should no longer be the core function of the police, as used to be the case.The arguments and counter arguments on whether crime prevention is the core function of the police or not, as well as the response from the selected countries were analyzed. The golden thread that runs through the eras of policing is that crime prevention is and has always been the main function of the police. The relative ease of measuring police performance by reactive activities in comparison with proactive activities seems to indicate that the police might focus more working on these measurable activities as compared to crime prevention activities that could go unnoticed. / Police Practice / D.
