ŠTOČKOVÁ, Šárka January 2011 (has links)
In its theoretic part, this dissertation thesis endeavors to describe the area relating to supervision in the most comprehensive way, particularly, supervision in social services. It clarifies basic terms relativ to this subjekt, which are supervision and social services. In its practical part, there are presented the results of the research, which was conducted using questionnaire investigation. The guestionnaires were sent to all facilities in the Vysočina Region which are considered as social services providers. The goal of the research was to find out the amount of social services providers using supervision. Further goal was to ascertain what kind of supervision is used most frequently as well as what the purpose of the supervision is according to the employees working in facilities providing social services. The goals of this thesis were achieved. This thesis has set three working hypotheses. Two hypotheses were confirmed, namely hypothesis No. 1 ? ?the most frequently used supervision is the group case supervision? and No. 2 ? ?supervision is used in facilities providing social services?. Based on the data obtained from the research, hypothesis No. 3 was disproved ? ?workers in the facilities providing social services assume that supervision is only a new type of control?. This thesis may represent a basis for implementing supervision into facilities where it is not yet implemented, not only to the extent of Vysočina Region. Further, it may serve as stimulation for a change or a modification of already applied supervision in facilities providing social services. It may also serve as a first step for similar research in another region and then for possible comparison, enabling to ascertain how the supervision is spread in different regions of the Czech Republic. And last but not least, the thesis may serve as a study material for students of the fields related to social work.

Al-Tayyar, Faysal January 2018 (has links)
The aim of this study was to analyse the experiences of social workers in addiction unit have of collaborative work with the children's unit on the issue of children in families with alcohol abuse. The method used in this study was a qualitative method and the empirical material has been collected through semi-structured interviews with five social workers in addiction unit in southern Sweden. The result of this study was analysed by framework three different theories: collaboration theory, system theory and organization theory. The study also builds on previous research that treated the same area. The results of this study show that more knowledge about collaborative work is needed. It also appears that there are various factors that hamper the collaborative effort between addiction unit and the children's unit regarding children of alcohol-abusing parents. This concerns for example, perspective differences, legislation and its constraints as well as budget and funding of joint efforts.

Dlouhodobá strategie rozvoje sociálních služeb pro zdravotně postižené ve správním obvodu Písku jako obce s rozšířenou působností do roku 2030 / Long-term development strategy for social services for the disabled to 2030 in Písek as a municipality with extended competence

GRÓFOVÁ, Zuzana January 2015 (has links)
I am about to devote this dissertation to the issues of social services planning in Písek as a provincial city with focus on handicapped people. My aim is to find out whether and under what conditions it would be possible to extend a timeframe of elaborated strategies at least to 15 years. Theoretical part is divided into four chapters. Firstly, I follow conception of social politics and social welfare during the time with future outlook. Then, the area of social services is being analysed - describing their evolution, legislative frame, interpretation of quality and ways of funding. Third chapter is dedicated to community planning, its foundations and principles. In last chapter I tend to target group - handicapped people. The aim of practical part is to find out not only under what conditions the timeframe of planning can be widen but also how exactly is social services planning being done and whether this process evolves towards better quality. All this by means of semistructured interviews with seven participants of social services planning in Písek. Respondents have been selected from the side of demand municipality of Písek and supply representants of non-governmental nonprofit organizations, church and region-donated organizations. Their posts varied from higher management to work force, both in current and previous years. Survey refers to demographic analysis of target group, respondents view of current planning timeframe´s sufficiency and whether quality level of that process is rising. Evaluated interviews showed that demographic analysis were professionally set up and last community planning in given area was significantly more successful compared with previous terms. This was achieved through cooperation with non-profit organization, its methodist and outside supervisor. Extension of current social planning timeframe can be possible, according to respondents, only if a long-term state-wide strategy gets formed, being regularly updated with action plans added for up to five years long period. Main obstacles for this are frequent changes in legislative and the issue of turbulent circumstances considering target group like people in crisis. However, for handicapped people and senior citizens extending the timeframe might be more possible considering stable situation and therefore usability of long-term statistical predictions.

Doplňková činnost neziskových organizací poskytujících sociální služby. / Additional Work of Nonprofit Organizations Providing Social Services

HAMERNÍKOVÁ, Lada January 2016 (has links)
This thesis titled Additional Activity of Nonprofit Organizations Providing Social Services mainly deals with the topic of NGOs. The main goal is to determine whether a non-profit organization providing social services operate additional (secondary) activities, whether the activity is beneficial for them, particularly in terms of working with users, whether it is financially lucrative. In my work I set two main research questions, whether non-governmental organizations providing social services operate additional activity, if so, how. The second research question seeks to determine whether additional activities for non-profit organizations providing social services are beneficial and lucrative. The theoretical part describes the current situation regarding to the non-profit sector, non-governmental organizations. Other chapters deal with the funding of NGOs, I explain there concepts such as fundraising, public relations, lobbying, which are closely connected with the non-profit sector. Then I focus on the main and secondary activities of non-profit organizations in the business, both under the Small Business Act and outside the regime of the Trade Act. The theoretical part also deals with what are social services, who can provide social services and the quality of social services. For the empirical part was chosen method of qualitative research through semi-structured interview with the staff of nongovernmental organizations providing social services in the territorial jurisdiction of the municipality with extended powers České Budějovice. For the interview was set 9 indicative questions relating to the complementary activities of non-governmental organizations providing social services. The results have shown that some non-governmental organizations providing social services operate additional activities, in particular the non-formal education, educational activities and programs, about advisory and consulting services, extracurricular education, about lecturing, organizing cultural and social events, conferences, sports events, organizing workshops for the public meeting for seniors and activation programs for them. These additional activities are for non-profit organizations beneficial, especially for work with clients, for creating good relationships with users, to inform the public about non-profit organizations, for expanding their range of services, to improve the quality of offered services. Regarding to the lucrative financial terms, additional activities for non-profit organizations are not too lucrative, but in spite of these activities follows a certain profit for the organizations, they help to co-finance some projects, help organizations to obtain additional resources and to ensure that multi-source financing.

Partial aim of diploma work is to find out the positive effects of the project Patron which was included in the work as an example of application of volunteering within social. With regards of the above mentioned goals, two research questions were set. 1. How is volunteering within social rehabilitation being used in organisations providing social services? 2. What are the positive effects of project Patron? Quantitative strategy, questioning method, the technique of managed and semi managed interview were used for research. Set research questions were answered by means of three research sets, where the technique of semi managed interview was used and one research subject, where the technique of managed interview was used. To ascertain the first research question a research set comprising of 10 social workers employed in facilities providing social services in the town of Benešov or the surrounding area was determined. Given criteria for taking part in the research was the length of employment of social workers being more than on year in their profession. The range of questions for the first research set was prepared for the case when the facility was using the help of volunteers and not. After gaining the necessary data, interviews were rewritten and evaluated with the help of open coding process when all the data was clearly organized into each category. Results arising from data gained in the first research set show that all facilities, where the informants work, providing social services apply social rehabilitation. The research further shows that 7 out of 10 facilities for social services use volunteers who participate on social rehabilitation of their clients and they are in the direct contact with clients. Volunteers, according to gained results, work with clients individually and in groups. 5 of the facilities using the help of volunteers are considering the expansion of volunteering and thinking about other areas where they could include the work of volunteers. One of the facilities which does not use volunteers is preparing for including volunteers in their work. Second research question of diploma work was researched by the means of third research sets and one research subject. The second set comprised of 5 boys who live in children's home near the town of Benešov and who are the clients of project Patron. The third research sets comprised of 5 men who volunteer for the project Patron. To complete information about project Patron and interview with a research subject representing the manager of project Patron was made. To gain necessary data the interviews were rewritten and then evaluated. Data gained from the second and third research sets were evaluated with the help of open coding process when all the data was clearly organized into each category Information gained from research subject was based on the research technique interpreted with the help of interview transcription. Data obtained from research sets show that clients and volunteers of project Patron get to know each other during common weekends. Volunteers meet the clients approximately once or twice a month to take part in their favourite activities and to talk. The research further shows volunteers and clients have good relationships based on trust. Based on answers from all informants we can without doubt claim that project Patron has very big positive effect. Lebanonizing the State: NGOs in a Confessional Society

Jones, Patrick, 1982- 09 1900 (has links)
ix, 179 p. / This thesis, based on field research in Lebanon, explores how the confessional nature of the Lebanese state affects the construction of civil society. It elaborates on the state's role as a social service provider and its legal and bureaucratic relationship with the Lebanese NGO community while also exploring how the state's role as a service provider is perceived in the Lebanese media. Pulling from a variety of archival sources in Lebanon, this thesis surveys 26 Arabic language newspaper articles published between 2006 and 2008. It also utilizes a myriad of primary sources including government and donor documents, unpublished NGO studies and statistical data. This thesis argues that confessionalism inhibits the state's capacity to provide social services efficiently. The politicization of these services conditions the relationship between the state, sectarian political parties and the NGO community. This phenomenon is reproduced in the Lebanese media and allows confessional relationships to infect civil society. / This work intends to study the exercise of social control through the knowledge of the state of the art of its dimensions in the spaces of the Management Councils of Social Assistance, from the Territory of Identity of the watershed in Rio Grande, Western Bahia. This territory is compound by 14 municipalities (Angical, Baianópolis, Barreiras, Buritirama, Catolândia, Cotegipe, Cristópolis, Formosa do Rio Preto, Luís Eduardo Magalhães, Mansidão, Riachão das Neves, Santa Rita de Cássia, Sao Desidério and Wanderley), being investigated effectively, five municipalities, for reasons of accessibility to these mechanisms and its members. The main objective of this study was to map and discuss the extent to what extent the social control is exercised by the management councils of social assistance in the municipalities of the territory of the Rio Grande watershed, Bahia. As for the theoretical framework, we sought support in the studies on the Habermasian deliberative models of democracy and participatory democracy, according to the perspective of Brazilian authors to define the dimensions of social control (participation, transparency, deliberation, nature, institutional and learning), which are implicitly addressed by specialised literature and used in a functional way at work. The research design that was adopted was the exploratory, qualitative, heading in three different and complementary work areas: bibliographic research on the subject of social control, given the need to understand and reduce the polysemy effect around such a notion; analysis of data on municipal management councils of social assistance, built by MUNIC Research (2001-2013), the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) as well as by the Census SUAS (2011/2012) of the Ministry of Social Development and fight against Hunger (MDS); and the collection, processing and analysis of empirical data from the experiences of the management councils of the referred Territory. The public prioritised in the field research was the group of civil society representatives, effective and substitute, regardless of the position occupied on the council. It was conducted 8 interviews in total, including professional connected to the Bipartite ‘Intermanaging’ Commission and the executive secretary of the municipal council. Still, semi-structured questionnaires were applied, transferred electronically to all municipalities in two models: one directed to the Council itself, with a total of five answers, and, the second, to the members, obtaining 12 responses, in an estimated universe of 112 holders. As for the results, it can be said that the control in the Territory is in the process of re-construction, a fact confirmed by the speeches and documents (laws, bylaws and minutes).
