The risk management of the supply chain has the objective to ensure the profitability and continuity of the supply chains, to achieve this, in general, specific procedures are used to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor the risks, reducing the probability of occurrence and negative impact of interruptions on the chain operations. However, most risk management models evaluate risks as independent events, disregarding the existing interrelationships between the chain links and the risks. To overcome this limitation, the objective of this work was to propose a system to manage interdependent risks in a supply chain of the piped gas sector. The adopted methodological flow considered two phases: proposition of a system for the management of risks in the supply chain, and practical application of this systematic in the supply chain of piped gas for verification and analysis. In this systematic proposal for the evaluation of the risks, with the incorporation of interdependence between them, the use of complementary methods was adopted: Analytic Network Process (ANP), Monte Carlo Simulation, and Bayesian Networks. As a research method, in this thesis, the case study for the identification of risks, modeling, and simulation for risk assessment was adopted. In the identification of the risks thirteen types of risks were identified in the gas distributing company (Company A) and eight types in the gas consuming company (Company EP1). Out of these, by the hierarchy indicated by ANP, the most critical risks were identified for each link in the chain, according to the global priority index: in company A - demand risks, supply risks, operational risk, and in the Company EP1 - risks capacity, operational and demand risk. From the risk network map and the Monte Carlo Simulation the conditioned probabilities between the pairs of risks were obtained. Thus, the criticality of the price risk was calculated (of Company A ) demand (of Company EPI), which resulted in the probability value of 0.59, the risk demand (of Company A) / capacity (of Company EP1), which resulted in the probability value of 0.38, of risk demand (of Company A) / demand (of Company EP1), which resulted in the probability value of 0.095, and the risk demand (of Company A)/ operational (of Company EP1), which resulted in the probability value of 0.024 . Considering the entire existing relationships network between these risks, it was possible to apply the Bayesian Networks that made possible the calculation of the aggregate probabilities, or final probability of the risks. Using Bayesian networks, probability of price risk in Company A (0.556), demand risk in Company A (0.356), economic/ financial risk in Company A (0.044), and finally, risk of supply in the CompanyEP1 (0.035) were obtained. In this mode, price risk (of Company A) and demand (of Company A) were considered as the most critical risks, and should be priorities in risk mitigation in the studied supply chain.

Les composés mésoioniques : de nouveaux outils pour la libération contrôlée de principes actifs / Mesoionic compounds : new tools for drug delivery

Porte, Karine 20 September 2019 (has links)
Recently, our laboratory has discovered a click and release reaction involving iminosydnones, a family of mesoionic compounds, and cyclooctynes. This bioorthogonal reaction occurs via a two step process: a [3+2] cycloaddition followed by a retro Diels-Alder, to give two new compounds: a click product and a release product. The main goal of this work is to improve the kinetic of the reaction between these two partners in order to use it as a powerful tool for in vivo drug delivery. Three strategies were developed during this thesis to optimize this reaction system: the study of a structure/reactivity relationship of the iminosydnone partner regarding the bioorthogonal reaction; the development of micelles built by amphiphiles containing an iminosydnone moiety as a cleavable linker, strategically located between the hydrophobic and the hydrophilic part of the compound and finally, the use of molecular recognition between two peptide nucleic acids (PNA) complementary strands.

A comparison of job descriptions for nurse practitioners working in out-of-hours primary care services: implications for workforce planning, patients and nursing

Teare, Jean A., Horne, Maria, Clements, G., Mohammed, Mohammed A. 02 December 2016 (has links)
Yes / To compare and contrast job descriptions for nursing roles in out-of-hours (OOH) services to obtain a general understanding of what is required for a nurse working in this job. OOH services provide nursing services to patients either through telephone or face to face contact in care centres. Many of these services are newly created giving job opportunities to nurses working in this area. It is vital that nurses know what their role entails but also that patients and other professionals know how OOH nurses function in terms of competence and clinical role. Design: Content analysis of OOH job descriptions. Method: Content analysis of a convenience sample of 16 job descriptions of OOH nurses from 5 OOH care providers across England was undertaken. The findings were narratively synthesised, supported by tabulation. Results: Key role descriptors were examined in terms of: job titles, managerial skills, clinical skills, professional qualifications and previous experience. Content analysis of each OOH job description revealed a lack of consensus in clinical competence and skills required related to job title although there were many similarities in skills across all the roles. Conclusion: This study highlights key differences and some similarities between roles and job titles in OOH nursing but requires a larger study to inform workforce planning. Relevance to clinical practice: OOH nursing is a developing area of practice which requires clarity to ensure patient safety and quality care. What does this paper contribute to the wider global clinical community? • There is a need for a consensus of opinion for nursing roles in OOH care linked to education, professional regulation and competence, based on expectations linked to particular job titles. • Educational and professional standards are required for different roles, which has implications for the training of OOH practitioners. • Health providers trying to meet the expectations of service users for 24 hour health care globally may invest in OOH nursing to meet demand

A decision support model for identification and prioritization of key performance indicators in the logistics industry

Kucukaltan, B., Irani, Zahir, Aktas, E. 09 March 2016 (has links)
Yes / Performance measurement of logistics companies is based upon various performance indicators. Yet, in the logistics industry, there are several vaguenesses, such as deciding on key indicators and determining interrelationships between performance indicators. In order to resolve these vaguenesses, this paper first presents the stakeholder-informed Balanced Scorecard (BSC) model, by incorporating financial (e.g. cost) and non-financial (e.g. social media) performance indicators, with a comprehensive approach as a response to the major shortcomings of the generic BSC regarding the negligence of different stakeholders. Subsequently, since the indicators are not independent of each other, a robust multi-criteria decision making technique, the Analytic Network Process (ANP) method is implemented to analyze the interrelationships. The integration of these two techniques provides a novel way to evaluate logistics performance indicators from logisticians' perspective. This is a matter that has not been addressed in the logistics industry to date, and as such remains a gap that needs to be investigated. Therefore, the proposed model identifies key performance indicators as well as various stakeholders in the logistics industry, and analyzes the interrelationships among the indicators by using the ANP. Consequently, the results show that educated employee (15.61%) is the most important indicator for the competitiveness of logistics companies.
