Hållbar utveckling i ämnet biologi : En kvalitativ studie om hur grundskolelärare i årskurs 4-6 arbetar med hållbar utveckling. / Sustainable development in biology : A qualitative study of how primary school teachers in grades 4-6 work with sustainable development.

Denna studie grundar sig på hur lärare tolkar hållbar utveckling i ämnet biologi. Syftet är att undersöka på vilka grunder lärarna väljer arbetssätt och ämnesinnehåll. Lärarna som intervjuas är verksamma i årskurs 4-6. Intervjuerna är semi-strukturerade vilket betyder att teman behandlas utifrån en given intervjuguide, frågorna ställs därför inte med någon förutbestämd ordning. De lärare som ingår i studien är behöriga i ämnet biologi och urvalsprocessen grundar sig i ett bekvämlighetsurval. Lärarna fick som förhandsinformation veta syftet med studien. Resultatet i studien visar på tre olika typer av lärare med olika synsätt på hållbar utveckling. De tre olika synsätten är: Hållbar utveckling i det vardagliga livet, Hållbar utveckling ur ett globalt perspektiv samt Attityder och värderingar för en hållbar utveckling. Yterliggare en kategori skapades efter vidare arbete med resultatet och det är det som är gemensamt för innehållet när lärarna talar om hållbar utveckling. I den gemensamma delen framkommer det att diskutera med eleverna, att medvetandegöra eleverna och den aktuella debatten inom hållbar utveckling, är centrala delar. I avsnittet diskussion belyses bland annat hur hållbar utveckling involverar samhället och att lärarna i studien antar en fostrande inställning till området. Diskussionen synliggör även de förmågor som visat sig vara viktiga i arbetet med hållbar utveckling. Studien visar på att lärarna erbjuder och möjliggör kunskaper som verktyg för eleverna, för att eleverna ska ha de färdigheter som krävs för att verka i samhället för en hållbar utveckling. Det är kunskaper för elevernas individuella förmåga att verka i samhället inom våra gemensamma referensramar. Eleverna övas i och utvecklar sin förmåga att inse konsekvenserna av olika alternativ och livsstilar. / This study is based on teacher’s interpretation of sustainable development in biology. The aim is to examine the grounds on which teachers choose methods and subject content. The teachers who were interviewed operate in grades 4-6. The interviews are semi-structured, which means that the themes were ordinated on a given interview guide, the questions are not posed by any predetermined order. The teachers who are included in the study are competent in biology, and the selection process is based on a convenience sample. The teachers got as advance information the purpose of the study. The results of the study show three different types of teachers with different approaches to sustainable development. The three approaches are: Sustainable development in everyday life, sustainable development from a global perspective as well as attitudes and values of sustainable development. Another category was added after further work with the results and that is the common part, it appears that discussion, awareness and the current debate on sustainable development are key components. The discussion highlights including how sustainable development involves the community and the teachers in the study adopts an educational approach to the area. The discussion also reveals the abilities that are important in the process of sustainable development. The study shows that the teachers provide and enable knowledge as a tool for students to have necessary skills to function in society for sustainable development. It is knowledge of pupils' individual ability to function in society in our common reference framework. Students practice and develop their ability to understand the consequences of different choices and lifestyles.

Švietimo sistemų palyginimas bei analizė pasaulinio švietimo kontekste labai aktualūs ir galėtų būti ypač naudingi reformuojant švietimo sistemą, siekiant bendrų tikslų visuose Europos Sąjungos šalyse. Įrodymais pagrįstą politiką ir praktiką – tyrimų ir vertinimų būdu gautų žinių paveiktą švietimo politiką – remia ir Europos Sąjunga, ir Ekonominio bendradarbiavimo ir plėtros organizacijos. Pirma magistrinio darbo dalis skirta teoriniam darbo pagrindimui. Magistrinio darbo tikslas - atlikti Lietuvos mokinių tarptautinio ir nacionalinio skaitymo gebėjimų tyrimų empirinių duomenų analizę. Magistrinio darbo uždaviniai: 1. Atlikti Lietuvos ir pasirinktų šalių švietimo sistemų siekiamo lygmens analizę skaitymo raštingumo srityje. 2. Atlikti Lietuvos ir pasirinktų šalių švietimo sistemų pasiektojo lygmens analizę skaitymo raštingumo srityje: 2.1. Atlikti tarptautinio skaitymo gebėjimų tyrimo PIRLS duomenų analizę. 2.2. Atlikti nacionalinio skaitymo gebėjimų pasiekimo tyrimo duomenų analizę. 2.3. Nustatyti pagrindinius veiksnius (realizuojamajame ir pasiekimų lygmenyse), lemiančius Lietuvos mokinių pasiekimus. Magistro darbe naudojami tyrimo metodai: • Mokslinės literatūros analizė, leidusi susipažinti su pasirinktų šalių švietimo sistemą charakterizuojančiais dokumentais, įvairiomis ugdymo filosofijomis, nagrinėjamų ugdymo teorijų raida ir funkcionavimu, skirtingomis konceptualiomis nuostatomis švietimo sistemos ir atskirų jos komponenčių atžvilgiu, nacionaliniais moksleivių... [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / This master work presents the results of the research of the education systems of Lithuania, the Russian Federation, Norway, Sweden and Latvia (on reading literary and information by describing them, giving reading curricula (planning and realizing levels). The criteria established for comparison and evaluation of the education systems with regard to reading and writing in native language allow to analyse, compare and evaluate the education systems of reading and writing in native language at the planned achievement level and are easy to apply for other studies. Following the analysis of goals and objectives in teaching reading and writing in native language in primary schools of Lithuania, Sweden, Norway, Latvia and the Russian Federation at the aspects of the school system aimed at formation of reading and writing context, knowledge and skills, general reading and writing abilities as well as attitudes and values, we can see that the major attention to teaching reading and writing is given by the Russian Federation (it devotes about 50 % of time to teaching language in the first form, 42 % of time in the second, third and fourth forms is devoted to the language and 30 % to reading). Given 19 lessons per week, it makes up about 9.5 lessons per week in the first form and about 7.98 lessons per week in the second-fourth forms, while in Lithuania and Norway this number accounts for 5. 95 and 5.94, respectively.

The thesis Influence of religion on the family background primarily with the practical implications of three basic beliefs of world religions - Jewish, Christian and Muslim - to a normal family life. Studying the various traditions and customs, practicing belief in everyday life and influence of a particular religion for the whole family. The theoretical part is focused on the requirements of that particular religion has on believers. The practical part describes the general way of life of Jews, Christians and Muslims, describes the specific application of faith in daily life. The research part of the thesis evaluates the questionnaires focused on the differences of attitudes, values and family life of Jews, Christians, Muslims and people with no religion.

Psychological Predictors of Energy Saving Behavior: A Meta-Analytic Approach

Understanding how psychological processes drive human energy choices is an urgent, and yet relatively under-investigated, need for contemporary society. A knowledge gap still persists on the links between psychological factors identified in earlier studies and people’s behaviors in the energy domain. This research applies a meta-analytical procedure to assess the strength of the associations between five different classes of individual variables (i.e.,: attitudes, intentions, values, awareness, and emotions) and energy-saving behavioral intentions and behaviors (self-reported and actual). Based on a systematic review of studies published between 2007 and 2017, we estimate the average effect size of predictor-criterion relations, and we assess relevant moderators and publication bias, drawing on data obtained from 102 independent samples reported in 67 published studies (N = 59.948). Results from a series of five single meta-analyses reveal a pattern of significant positive associations between the selected psychological determinants and energy-saving indicators: associations between individual-level predictors and energy-saving outcomes are positive and moderate in size, ranging from large effects for emotions to small-moderate effects for pro-environmental values. Interestingly, moderation analysis reveals, among other things, that attitude-behavior links are not statistically significant when actual behavior is considered as an outcome. Implications for policy interventions are discussed.
