An authoring tool for temporal intensional web pages

Hoke, Yatang 28 October 2005 (has links)
ITPerl is a web authoring tool that enables users to add temporal features to intensional web pages. ITPerl adds temporal macros to IPerl, a Perl interface to the C++ intense library. ITPerl combines temporal and default logic with intensional programming. ITPerl is an ideal solution for many time-sensitive and rapidly changing web applications. When developing a site, a user can add a temporal section to a webpage by providing different versions of it and associating each version with a time constraint. When a webpage is requested by a browser, a time point will be sent, as part of the request, to the ITPerl module. This time point is by default the current server time, but can be any time specified by the viewer. ITPerl will then compare the time point with each time constraint. If the time point satisfies more than one time constraint, then ITPerl will choose the best-fit version of the section by finding the most refined constraint. A html page that contains this best-fit version of this section will then be generated and sent back to the browser. ITPerl is easy to use. It provides the user with high level macros that have a simple syntax and that generate temporal codes as cgi files. This frees the user from having to write the complex temporal code himself.

Flores, Maria Lucia Pozzatti January 2011 (has links)
This thesis is the construction of a methodology that combines ready and reusable Learning Objects (LO), creating and completing parts of these LOs, using a combina-tion of authoring software. The theories of Gagné and Wiley will support the se-quencing of instruction, construction of Los. The implementation strategies for apply-ing these LOs will follow the Kolb cycle’s, which suggests that learning occurs if there is an understanding of the experience and it’s transformation, involving a four stages cycle: concrete experience, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization and active experimentation. The paper describes the implementation of this methodology conducted through a training course for local teachers and state of Santa Maria - RS, during which they learned to build LOs using the proposed methodology. At the end of training each teacher in the sample, analyzed the development of its own object and review the LOs of their peers, through a questionnaire. These data were statisti-cally analyzed by Hypothesis Test of Proportion, reaching the conclusion that the mathematics teachers learn to use and easily combine authoring tools to create LOs according to the proposed methodology. We also assessed whether these meet cri-teria established LOs sequencing and reflection.

Ubiquitous collaborative multimedia capture of live experiences toward authoring extensible interactive multimedia documents / Captura multimídia colaborativa ubíqua de experiências ao vivo para autoria de documentos multimídia interativos extensíveis

Andrey Omar Mozo Uscamayta 27 April 2017 (has links)
The growing importance of multimedia content generated by ordinary users demands research for models, methods, technologies and systems that support multimedia production. Despite recent results allowing the collaborative capture of video via mobile devices, there is gap in supporting the collaborative capture of multiple media. In this dissertation we propose that ubiquitous collaborative multimedia production can be carried out by users who capture and annotate multiple media using the CMoViA mobile application. CMoViA also allows export the user-generated content to the CI+WaC, which allows them to edit the user-generated content in the form of interactive and extensible multimedia documents. The proposal demanded extending recent work reported in the literature, namely the I+WaC-IE (Interactors+WaC-Interaction Events) model, the I+WaC-Editor tool and MoViA tool. Hence, CMoViA follows the proposed CI+WaC-IE model. We discuss results from a case study, carried out in the educational domain, in which students collaboratively capture a lecture. Assim, a aplicação CMoViA segue o modelo CI+WaC-IE proposto neste trabalho como extensão do modelo I+WaC-IE.

Validation of TAM Model on Social Media Use for Collaborative Learning to Enhance Collaborative Authoring

Alenazy, Wael M., Mugahed Al-Rahmi, Waleed, Khan, Mohammad S. 01 January 2019 (has links)
Increased impact of technology leads numerous studies to conduct research on the effect of social media on performance. Very limited of such studies have tried to observe and record the use of social media for collaborative learning as a way to improve collaborative authoring. This paper tries to the validation of the technology acceptance model (TAM) on social media use for collaborative learning to enhance collaborative authoring among research students. To achieve the study objective, this paper employed a questionnaire as the main data collection method and distributed it to 1118 responses of various researchers from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) all of whom use social media. The findings were obtained via a quantitative research method, structural equation modeling (SEM-AMOS). The findings from our empirical study indicate that all the hypotheses were supported; we demonstrate that the use of social media positively and significantly related to collaborative authoring through collaborative learning between researchers in higher education. Therefore, the proposed model will help academic and decision-makers formulate the strategies that can encourage students and researchers to use social media to improving collaborative authoring through collaborative learning.

The refrigeration and air conditioning systems by adsorption with solar energy are a very interesting option to replace the conventional compression systems because they save energy, are noiseless and use non-aggressive ozone layer refrigerants; however, there are scarcities of studies at this topic. The acquisition of knowledge and positioning in research on this topic by new research groups could be facilitated by knowing the context, trends, and collaborations that emerge in the subject. A map of collaborative co-authors between the greatest authors on the subject was drawn up, the same one that is done using Gephi software. From the analysis of these maps, the centrality degree and collaboration between the authors were determined. / Revisión por pares

Authoring of Help by End-users in an Online Community Network

Jagannathan, Vinoth 13 February 2003 (has links)
One of the key features of an online community network is that there is no central management authority; the community members themselves manage it. At the same time, for any application to be complete it must have a useful help system. So, for a community network to be completely run by the members, the task of creating and manipulating help documents must also be handled by the members/end-users. Previous studies about community networks show that extensive volunteer effort is one of the basic characteristics of a community network. Therefore a study about end-user authoring is possible in a community network. Minimalism is an instruction design method that helps users to learn about the system by performing real tasks. This study aimed at analyzing the possibilities of guiding the end-users to create a better minimalist help document than a more traditional and comprehensive one. The users' performance and preferences were used to compare the two approaches. The study also focused on users' preference to using minimalist help documents versus traditional help documents. The results indicated that it is possible to guide the end-users to create minimalist help documents. However, no significant results were found to conclude that the end-user authored minimalist help document would be better than an end-user authored traditional help document. The results also indicated that, although significant results were not found, the users seem to prefer a more traditional help, than a minimalist help, for a community network. The implications of the study and recommendations for future work are presented. / Master of Science
