Samverkan och insatser inom habilitering och skola riktade till barn med autism : En kvalitativ studie om professionellas erfarenheter av arbetet med barn med autism / Collaboration and efforts within habilitation and school aimed at children with autism : A qualitative study on preofesionals experiences of working with children with autism

Muukki, Sandra, Sarah, Khalid January 2023 (has links)
Special educators and counselors work closely with children with autism in child rehabilitation and primary school. There, the professionals need to be involved in decisions that affect the individual's future through assessments and observations. The room for action and cooperation can be faced with challenges as each case is unique and dependent on the judgments of the professionals. The purpose of this study was to investigate how the special educators and counselors use and manage their space for action and how their experiences of collaboration between the activities work. We ́ve chosen to analyze our collected empirical evidence from the qualitative interviews through Michael Lipsky's theory of grassroots bureaucrats and used the theoretical concept of room for action. The result showed that the room for action could pose challenges based on the cooperation between the various parties such as businesses and guardians, as the professionals need to be accommodating towards several parties and at the same time be involved in the exercise of power in decision-making regarding the child and its future.  Keywords: Autism, intervention, support, elementary school, childhabilitation, grassroots bureaucrats
