Inköpsoptimering och kostnadsreducering

Kapanen, Gustaf, Löf, Christer January 2008 (has links)

This thesis has been carried out at Diac Metal AB at Torsvik outside of Jönköping. The company produces parts for, amongst others, office furniture and store equipment. The essay will be concentrated on one detail which is included in many of their products.

Today the company uses an ordering quantity based on experience which is rarely updated. Furthermore the operations are performed in both the company’s own engineering workshop but also an external workshop.

The purpose with the report has been to check whether an updating of today’s batch shaping and ordering system can mean simpler storage control and possibly cost reduction. Another part was to examine whether the operation costs could be lowered by submitting to own production or have an external workshop do it.

The work has mainly been implemented through comparing appropriate theories from literature around these matters. Information concerning operation costs, ordering history and necessary theoretical parameters were gathered through the company’s MPS system and through the mandator.

After the implementation it was revealed that today’s ordering system agreed good with the new system that was designed with the aid of economic order quantity and ordering system. A certain reduction of the yearly ordering costs is possible by using a larger ordering quantity. I was also revealed that the company could economize the operation costs by handing out the operations to the external workshop which has performed only one of these earlier.

Alternativa Inköpsmetoder

Nilsson, Alexander, Hasagic, Selmir January 2009 (has links)

Johansson, Mikael, Magnusson, Andreas, Stråth, Simon January 2008 (has links)

The work with this report has been focused on developing a methodology model for control at purchase. The methodology model covers parts classification, dispatching systems, batch shaping and more. The aim with the methodology model is that it will be used as an aid for a cost effective material planning to increase the value for customer.

The work covers also a description of the present situation and the purchase process at Company X. Six parts have been applied, two from each class (A, B and C), in the methodology/model. The parts that have been applied are included in the flow between Company X and their supplier Company Y.

Data have been collected trough literature studies, interviews and the company’s business system. The methodology model has been developed with a broad literature study in the concerned areas.

The application of the six parts shows that the methodology model works well and shows that there is a possibility to reduce the costs. The methodology model can also help finding news ways in the material planning.

The conclusion can be drawn that the methodology model is a good help for material planning and that the correct control and batch shaping gives a significant cost reduction. Company X has today an effective purchase activity, but there are potentials for improvements, especially concerning the batch shaping and an increased use of kanban. Moreover there is potential to gain more with a better use of the company’s business system.
