O método de Bowman e Colantoni foi desenvolvido na década de 1970 como alternativa aos axiomas de Arrow. O método foi pouco explorado por envolver o que se considera, em média, um número excessivamente grande de cálculos. Além disso, o mesmo método tende a apresentar múltiplas soluções ótimas, e este aspecto será de suma importância neste trabalho, que propõe uma adaptação do método e uma interpretação de todas as soluções ótimas. Essa adaptação ocorre pelo estudo das comparações ternárias dos resultados em contraposição aos rankings, assim como pela inclusão de novas restrições ao modelo para aplicação no contexto do futebol. Essa adaptação tornará possíveis diferentes análises acerca dos resultados ocorridos no campeonato, como também identificar os resultados mais inesperados da competição. O modelo foi aplicado no Campeonato Brasileiro de futebol do ano de 2013, no qual foram encontradas 71.216 (setenta e uma mil, duzentas e dezesseis) soluções ótimas, com a conclusão de que não haveria alteração no campeão e nem no último colocado, porém, haveria mudanças tanto nos times classificados para a Copa Libertadores da América, quanto nos rebaixados para a série B, caso o campeonato tivesse respeitado o princípio de racionalidade fraca nos seus resultados. / The aim of this study is to adapt the Bowman and Colantoni method to deal with weak rationality in the football context, even when taking into consideration the team's advantage to play at home. The method of Bowman and Colantoni was developed in the 70's as an alternative to the axioms of Arrow. The method has been very little explored because it involves what is considered, on average, an excessively large number of calculations. In addition, the same method tends to have multiple optimal solutions, and this will be very important in this work – which proposes a method of adaptation and interpretation of all optimal solutions. This adaptation takes place in the study of ternary comparisons of the results, in contrast to the rankings, as well as the inclusion of new restrictions on the model for application in the context of football. This adjustment will make it possible for different analysis of the results occurred in the league, such as identifying the most unexpected results of the competition. The model was applied in 2013 on Brazilian football championship, in which were found 71,216 (seventy-one thousand, two hundred and sixteen) optimal solutions, with the conclusion that there would be no change in the champion and not in last place, however, there would be changes in both teams qualified for the Copa Libertadores da América, the lowered into the series B if the league had respected the principle of weak rationality in their results.

In this study, a Bowman-Birk protease inhibitor (LzaBBI) was purified from the saline extract of the Luetzelburgia auriculata seeds After boiling of this saline extract, the inhibitor was purified by affinity chromatography on Sepharose® 4B-anhydrotrypsin, followed by ion exchange chromatography on DEAE Sepharose and reverse phase chromatography. Under reducing conditions or not, LzaBBI showed an apparent molecular mass of 17.3 kDa and a single polypeptide chain. The NH2-terminal sequencing of the LzaBBI showed high similarity with other Bowman-Birk inhibitors of legumes. LzaBBI remained stable after boiling at 98 °C for 120 min and also remained stable with trypsin inhibitory activity after incubation in pH buffers with pHs varying from 2 to 11. In addition to its relevant structural stability, of importance in future biotechnological applications, LzaBBI showed negative impact on the Staphylococcus aureus development when at low doses. / Inibidores de proteases vegetais são proteínas de baixa massa molecular, geralmente presentes em altas concentrações nos tecidos de armazenamento, particularmente em sementes de plantas pertencentes à família Fabaceae. Neste estudo, um inibidor de proteases pertencente à família Bowman-Birk (LzaBBI) foi purificado a partir do extrato salino de sementes de Luetzelburgia auriculata. Após fervura desse extrato salino, o inibidor foi purificado por cromatografia de afinidade em matriz de anidrotripsina-Sepharose® 4B, seguido de cromatografia em matriz de troca iônica (DEAE Sepharose) e cromatografia em fase reversa. Em condições redutoras, ou não, o LzaBBI apresentou massa molecular aparente de 17,3 kDa, e uma única cadeia polipeptídica. Sua sequência NH2-terminal possui alta similaridade com inibidores do tipo Bowman-Birk de leguminosas. O LzaBBI permaneceu estável após fervura a 98 °C por 120 min, bem como após incubado na faixa de pHs entre 2 a 11. Além de possuir relevante estabilidade estrutural, de importância para futuras aplicações biotecnológicas, apresentou efeito negativo no crescimento da bactéria Staphylococcus aureus, quando em baixas concentrações.

Américas. Com base em um caso de incogulabilidade associado ao consumo excessivo do suco do maracuja (Passiflora edulis Sims f. flavicarpa) em paciente anticoagulado com varfarina, foi proposto investigar a presença de inibidores da coagulação in vitro no extrato de Passiflora edulis Sims f. flavicarpa. Os estudos iniciais mostraram a presença de dois compostos de massas moleculares e ação inibitória distintas, a de prolongar a coagulação e a de inibir tripsina. o isolamento das atividades consistiu de extração, precipitação com acetona 1:5 (v/v) e cromatografia de exclusão molecular em Sephadex G-25, permitindo a separação dos compostos ativos.O inibidor de tripsina, após cromatografia de afinidade em tripsina-Sepharose e fase reversa (HPLC) em coluna /l-Bondapack C18, teve a região N-terminal sequenciada. A busca de similaridade no banco de dados de proteínas mostrou identidade com inibidores da família Bowman-Birk, grupo II, sendo nomeado de PeTI-112. Esse inibidor de aproximadamente 14.000 Da, age sobre a tripsina com constante de inibição de 0,2 nM . 0 PeTI-J12 e muito específico, pois não inibe outras serino proteinases como a calicreína plasmática humana, 0 fator Xa e a elastase. Em relação ao composto ativo sobre a coagulação, além do TTPa, observa-se também o prolongamento do TP e a não alteração do TT, indicando que o composto interfere na atividade dos fatores das vias intrínseca e extrínseca da coagulação e não sobre a atividade da trombina. 0 prolongamento do TTPa em plasma deficiente de fator VIII indica que o mecanismo pelo qual o princípio ativo presente no maracujá não envolve a inibição deste fator. A atividade inibitória não foi observada quando o extrato foi dialisado extensivamente, sugerindo ser um inibidor de baixa massa molecular, resistente ao aquecimento a 100°C por 10 minutos, mas termolábil após este período. 0 perfil de eluição do composto por HPLC mostra a característica• hidrofóbica do material e por,análise espectrométrica apresenta massa molecular na faixa de 600-700 Da. Este trabalho fornece evidências preliminares do efeito do extrato do Passiflora edulis Sims f. flavicarpa nos parâmetros da coagulação sanguínea, o que pode ser importante no tratamento e acompanhamento de pacientes anticoagulados ou com doenças hemorrágicas, podendo também abrir perspectivas para o desenvolvimento de compostos, sobretudo inibidores, para use em aplicações biotecnológicas ou terapêuticas. / TEDE / BV UNIFESP: Teses e dissertações

This study proposes a detailed historic account of the life and career of Lionel Bowman as a concert pianist and teacher. The role and relevance of criticism in music have also been included and documented with specific reference to Bowman’s playing. In order to do this, a survey of the available relevant literature such as Bowman’s journal and notebook, published articles, newspaper articles and reviews on the subject were comprehensively examined. Available recorded materials such as compact discs with Bowman’s live performances have been incorporated in the study. Apart from a detailed biographical account of Bowman’s life and career, as an orientation to the historic account, attention is given to how Bowman’s teaching style initiated and its development into a unique and personal method which resulted in the publication of The Magic Touch: For pianists and teachers. A workable practical guide to piano playing by Wallace Tate (2000). The success of this method supported by commentary from several pianists, who experienced Bowman’s method first hand, has been incorporated in the study. Light is also shed on Bowman’s human side including the past and present situation of the arts in South Africa in order for artists in general to learn from it and facilitate new growth and vision of the future of the Arts and Cultural field. Bowman’s final legacy and information about his death, including commentaries from people who knew him as a pianist, teacher and friend has also been documented. The study ends with a concluding chapter summarising the whole study and sheds light on future possible studies on related topics. CoordenaÃÃo de AperfeiÃoamento de Pessoal de NÃvel Superior / Inibidores de proteases vegetais sÃo proteÃnas de baixa massa molecular, geralmente presentes em altas concentraÃÃes nos tecidos de armazenamento, particularmente em sementes de plantas pertencentes à famÃlia Fabaceae. Neste estudo, um inibidor de proteases pertencente à famÃlia Bowman-Birk (LzaBBI) foi purificado a partir do extrato salino de sementes de Luetzelburgia auriculata. ApÃs fervura desse extrato salino, o inibidor foi purificado por cromatografia de afinidade em matriz de anidrotripsina-Sepharose 4B, seguido de cromatografia em matriz de troca iÃnica (DEAE Sepharose) e cromatografia em fase reversa. WDL has two primary requirements; 1st it is to provide a rigorous executable behavioural description of waveform signal structures that is unambiguous and yet independent of any particular end item software radio architecture. The 2nd requirement is that the behavioural specification provides a path to automatic code generation for GP’s, DSP’s, and FPFG’s and that the Generated code be tested against the behavioural model.
