Urban and mass solution creates a complex of buildings with a city-forming character and allows going follow the area.

The subject of this diploma thesis is the revitalization of the urban block in the street Křenová in the Trnitá district of Brno. The land is brownfield for the most part. The design of new space utilization includes a new building of an intensive urban area, so-called multifunctional house. Ponávka River is the compositional axis of a new development. The river indicates the character of the parterre. It is a place for relaxation and a walking promenade. The buildings have 1 - 4 aboveground and 1 underground floor. The compactness of the building differs from the second above-ground floor. Solitary objects are formed by a square or rectangular ground plan. The object is used for various purposes, such as services, administrative and residential areas or underground parking. The perimeter cladding of the building is made of brick cladding with respect to the surrounding area. The building is complemented by an external metal structure - stand-alone frames that can be used to hold green. The frames are repeated throughout the area and form a connecting element.

The second part describes the current status of brownfields of Brno and by the method of scoring selected items is assessed their economic potencial. The conclusion of the work is dedicated to one of the specific brownfield in Brno. There is treated proposal of possible revitalization , itemized budget and cost-benefit analysis.

The aim of this master’s thesis is to create design of a civic roadway with a tram track no.4, that is supposed to meet the transport demand of an area called Zbrojovka, which is an old industrial brownfield to be turned into a civic and business area. What is more, this roadway should provide interconnection between streets Dukelská třída and Zábrdovická. This thesis is carried out as a study. The solution is based on knowledge of Brno’s ground plan, few studies carried out by the Department of public transportation and consultations therein. All directives and standards are included in the index. This work is created using following programmes Autocad Civil 2012, Microsoft Office 2010, AutoTURN 8.1. Final solution has been reached by working in several versions and assesing the most suitable one, which is separating the tram track from the civic roadway. This separation leads to a better coverage of the area.

Till följd av en växande befolkning ökar behovet av livsmedel globalt samtidigt som mängden brukbar jordbruksmark försvinner. Anledningarna till dess försvinnande är många, klimatförändringar, sjukdomar och markdegradering är de tre huvudsakliga kategorierna. Människans exploatering och marktätning av jordbruksmarkmarken räknas som markdegradering och är det som undersöks i denna uppsats. Att exploatera jungfrulig mark samtidigt som stadsnära bebyggda områden förfaller och överges är inte hållbart ur ekologisk eller socialt perspektiv, därför är teorin för cirkulärt naturbruken relevant vinkel att undersöka. Ett alternativ för att möjliggöra en hållbar markanvändning och säkra en framtida livsmedelsförsörjning är att Sveriges regering skapar ett initiativ för att planera efter modellen för ett cirkulärt naturbruk. Modellen för ett cirkulärt naturbruk innebär att exploaterade områden återanvänds för bostäder, verksamheter, infrastruktur o.s.v. tills detta inte längre är möjligt. Då återställs området till någon form av grönstruktur för att kompensera ianspråktagande av ny jungfrulig mark. Uppsatsen undersöker hur konceptet för ett cirkulärt naturbruk hanteras i Sverige jämfört med övriga Europa, samt vilka alternativa metoder som används för att uppnå en hållbar markanvändning och hur Sverige kan ta steget vidare och utvecklas mot minskad exploateringen av jordbruksmark. Av de svenska instanser som har möjlighet att påverka den fysiska planeringen i Sverige har Regeringen, Boverket, Länsstyrelsen i Skåne samt Länsstyrelsen i Kronoberg valts ut för att undersökas. The aim of the thesis is to create a strategy for the gradual integration of the dilapidated area into the city's cultural hub. This project is primarily focused on harnessing the lucrative position of a sugar factory in the center of the city and trying to create the ideal conditions for the emergence of a commercially viable urban environment within it. The area has the potential to create a much needed city center. The location is convenient and the existences of monumental former storage halls, which are among the oldest buildings in the city, would encapsulate the industrial heritage of Břeclav for this venture. Thus, the revitalization can assess both the area's location and surroundings, and more broadly even the more expansive imagery of the whole city. The task of the thesis is not to determine the final form of the area but rather to determine the direction in which the revitalization could go. Emphasis is placed on the process and methodology of renewal.
