Oxydation chimique in situ de la zone non saturée de sols contaminés par du goudron de houille : du laboratoire au terrain / In situ chemical oxidation of the unsaturated zone of soils contaminated with coal tar : from the laboratory to the field

Ranc, Bérénice 23 June 2017 (has links)
When the unsaturated zone of soils is highly contaminated, it is commonly excavated and backfilled. This work deals with an alternative treatment, in situ chemical oxidation, that allows a potential reuse of soils directly on site. This technique has already provided encouraging results at the lab scale but has rarely been tested in the field. Research was made around three scales – bibliography, laboratory and pilot – in order to respond to the main problem: is there an oxidative treatment able to meet technical, economic and environmental criteria quite acceptable to be applied at brownfield level? The laboratory research phase showed that the addition of a moderate thermal support significantly increased treatment effectiveness, by i) an increase in pollutant availability by soil preheating in the case of permanganate, or ii) a thermal activation of the oxidant in the case of persulfate. At the pilot scale, a homogeneous contact between the oxidant and the pollutants was possible only by a partial flooding of the soil with the concentrated oxidizing solutions. The persulfate activation turned out to be difficult to implement because heating concentrated solutions led to a parasite decomposition of the oxidant. On the contrary, the use of concentrated solutions of permanganate led to an even higher degradation than in the laboratory, as a result of the strong exothermicity of the reaction

Analýza možností nového využití plochy vybraného brownfieldu / Analysis of possibilities of new use of selected brownfield locality

MÜLLEROVÁ, Barbora January 2018 (has links)
The topic of this diploma thesis is revitalization of brownfields - reuse of abandoned, unused or devastated areas and objects. The main objective is to describe the location of the selected brownfield and to analyze the possibilities of its new use. Following objective is own site design, based on a previous analysis of brownfield usage suggestions. There are examples of successful revitalization of other brownfields in this thesis. The theoretical part of the thesis includes information obtained from specialized literature, monographs, journals, conference proceedings and Internet sources in Czech and English. This is a general issue of brownfields (their definition, typology, the origins and reasons for creating brownfields, existing databases, legislation related to the topic, opportunities for revitalization of brownfields and financing of revitalization). Practical part of the thesis deals with specific choosed territory, its description and it especially analyses two suggestions for its new use. It includes the characteristics of area of Beroun and the choosed site, SWOT analysis, spatial studies and analysis of new site usage suggestions. The subject of interest is the brownfield site of the former TIBA a.s. company located in Beroun. The thesis also respects the conditions for the functional use of the site, which were taken into account in the analyzed proposals as well as in the own proposal.

Klasifikace a evaluace brownfields v Jihočeském kraji / Classification and evaluation of brownfiled sites in the South region in the Czech republic

JERŠOVOVÁ, Lenka January 2011 (has links)
This thesis focuses on classification and evaluation of brownfiled sites in the South region in the Czech republic. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is aimed at defining the issues of brownfields, particulary to the development and current status of brownfileds not only in the South region. The classification of brownfields is part of the chapter. In the second part is applied the model based on the scoring of the parameters.

Clearing the Brownfields: Offsetting the Risks to Sustainable Development of Contaminated Land

Walker, Kimberley 16 April 2018 (has links)
This research develops eight recommendations for amendments to key Ontario legislation affecting Brownfield redevelopment that, if implemented, will reduce the liability and risk associated with the development of contaminated land and benefit stakeholders, such as, municipalities and developers. Utilizing the methodology of law and economics, this research examines the legal landscape in Ontario and expands the dialogue regarding the risks of developing contaminated land. Through this examination, this research uncovers the origins of the risks of Brownfield redevelopment and extrapolates recommendations for amendments to legislation and policy that balance the liability of Brownfield redevelopment with the protection of the environment. Recent developments in environmental law appear to increase environmental protection, but actually limit Brownfield redevelopment in Ontario by increasing liability and costs. The polluter pays principle that has been entrenched in Canadian law has governed the law in respect of contaminated lands for decades. However, as society evolves, the common law is forced to re-evaluate environmental protection in the face of contaminated lands. This evolution of the law is an attempt to intervene to correct a market failure that exists with respect to contaminated lands. The increased liability associated with Brownfield redevelopment translates into heightened costs to redevelop the land, which also severely threatens environmental justice in Ontario. The recommendations in this research will benefit stakeholders, the public, and the environment. With respect to stakeholders, it will be of assistance to municipalities, cities, developers, corporations, secured lenders, mortgage insurers and the government. The risks associated with Brownfield redevelopment can be offset by the recommended corrections to legislation regarding liability and stronger policies that create accessible programs and incentives to promote just, innovative, and sustainable redevelopment.

Posouzení investice do developmentu brownfieldu v Praze / Evaluation of Investment into Brownfield Redevelopment in Prague

Krylová, Kateřina January 2015 (has links)
This Master's Thesis deals with the evaluation of investment into residential redevelopment of a former Libeň's harbour in Prague. The Thesis' aim is to decide whether the planned project creates enough profit and to find what is the maximum price the developer should be willing to pay for the land. The theoretical part focuses on key words definition, specification of investment decisions and describes evaluation methods including the definition of input parameters. The practical part includes strategic analysis evaluating macroeconomic situation of Czech republic, Prague's real estate market and describing the forces, which determine the competitive environment of the project. The investment evaluation is based on the data ascertained in strategic analysis using the methods described in the theoretical part. The risk analysis is finally applied on the evaluation methods' results.

Výtisková, Kateřina January 2016 (has links)
Subject of this thesis is an urban development study of the former brownfield in Vítkovice - Moravská Ostrava. The initiative came from the new spatial plan of the Ostrava city, where this area was designated for further study. The goal was to design a quality connection to surrounding city parts and to create an independent, functionally diverse city district, which will embrace the past but also provide new inspiration near the city centre. The goal was also to enable further continuity in case of further industry downturn in the area.

Náměstí Míru - dostavba a rekonstrukce veřejného prostoru v Brně / Náměstí míru - extension and rehabilitation of public space in Brno

Karešová, Kateřina January 2017 (has links)
The aim of this work is to revitalize the public space of náměstí Míru on Kraví hora. The work tries to find further functional use of the, which would include rebuilding the currently unused former military premises at Lerchova street while respecting the current state of the surrounding buildings and greenery. The proposed solution of a new square design signifies urban space as the center of the Masaryk's Quarter. The design takes into account the current location of the tramway balloon loop, which is located in the middle of the area and shapes the unique character of the location. This element of transport is thus left at the heart of the entire urban design. It forms an islet made up of designed buildings with a square created inside. The intention is to build a lively core of the district attracting attention not only from a local populace.
