Implementering av välfärdsteknik inom äldreomsorg : En kvalitativ studie om biståndshandläggares erfarenheter i Dalarna / Implementation of welfare technology in care for older people : A qualitative study of the experiences of social workers in Dalarna County

Jonsson, Theresé, Östlund, Annica January 2024 (has links)
Life expectancy in Sweden is increasing and the challenges in the care of older people are rising. This study aimed to examine social workers’ view of welfare technology and its implementation in the care of older people in Dalarna. Following thematic analysis of semistructured interviews of seven social workers, it was found that they view welfare technology positively for the future, but that it needs to be reliable and individually adapted to the users.Social workers described that welfare technology can contribute to an improved quality of lifevand an increased sense of security. To facilitate the implementation of welfare technology, supporting organizational structures and sufficient resources that enable staff to receive information and training are required. Among other things, economic limitations, lack of time, and low priority were considered barriers to the implementation of welfare technology.

Samtal sent i livet : Samtalsstöd för äldre ur ett professionellt perspektiv / Counselling in late life: Counselling to older people from the professional´s perspective

Karlmats, Ann, Larsson, Linda January 2016 (has links)
This study aims to examine how professionals in care for older people experience older people´s needs of counselling in grievous life questions. A qualitative method has been chosen in the form of individual semi-structured interviews with six care workers in municipal care for older people. The theoretical bases which have been applied are social constructionism and Erik Homburger Erikson's theory: Stages of Psychosocial Development. The result of the study shows that older people in care for older people sometimes are in need of counselling. These needs are not always fulfilled today because of the care workers lack of time and expertise in facing grievous life questions. Counsellors in care for older people are presumed to increase because older people in the future will make more demands and also will find it more natural in life crisis to talk to a counsellor.

Applying for home care services : A qualitative study of how first-time users of social care for older people experienced the application process

Karlström, Pim January 2022 (has links)
Aim: To explore how older people (>65 years), who have been granted home care services for the first time, experienced their contact with the municipal need assessor and the process of the need assessment. Method/data: Semi-structured interviews (n=7) have been conducted with first-time users of social care for older people (>65 years) living in one district in the City of Stockholm. The interviews were thematically analysed based on the theoretical approach by Braun & Clarke (2006).Findings: Applying for home care services affects several dimensions of thoughts and emotions related to the process of ageing. Compromised ability/health/independence and the accessibility of informal care influenced the respondent’s tendency to apply. Thoughts and emotions related to identity, autonomy and managing tasks on their own was significant. Both positive and negative emotions related to the contact with the municipal need assessor was found. Conclusions: Municipal home care services include several aspects beyond the practical matters. The contact with the municipal need assessor was not the main topic discussed, instead focus was put on the thought process/introspective process leading up to an application. In addition, applying for home care services is sometimes experienced as “the last resort” when other possibilities are exhausted.
