O triunfo da inércia:- poder, violência e alienação em \'La Colmena\' de Camilo José Cela / The inertia\'s triumph: power, violence and alienation in \'La Colmena\' de Camilo José Cela

Nabeta, Frank 31 March 2006 (has links)
After the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), which lasted nearly three years and culminated in the victory of the conservative fascist forces and the establishment of General Franco\'s dictatorial regime, Spain experienced times of extreme poverty and despair known as \"años de hambre\". In La Colmena, Camilo José Cela depicts the social maladies of that time through a narrative where irony and cynicism abound. The novel cleared the way for social realism in the 50\'s. In Cela\'s work the fragmented perspective of reality, the reproduction of conservative values and the resignation disseminated in everyday life paint a portrait of inertia and social despair, where each individual is obliged to accept the conditions in which they find themselves and tries to survive one more day in a violent and alienated society.

Bastidores de Papeles de Son Armadans: as correspondências. Cela e os exilados: Alberti, Aub, Castro e Emilio Prados / Backstages of Papeles de Son Armadans: the correspondences. Cela and the exiled: Alberti, Aub, Castro and Emilio Prados

Munhoz, Solange Chagas do Nascimento 22 June 2015 (has links)
This thesis aims to analyze the exchanged letters between Camilo José Cela and the writers Rafael Alberti, Max Aub, Américo Castro and Emilio Prados, during the decades of 50 to 70\'s, gathered in the book Correspondencia con el exilio (2009). In these correspondences, which configure themselves as a textual territorial of sociability, we examine the articulation between the correspondents in order to circulate the writers collected works exiled in franquist Spain, in both Papeles de Son Armadans magazine and Alfaguara publisher house. The study yet demonstrates the relevance of the interlocution for the Cela\'s project of evidence his performance as a cultural mediator between the exile and peninsula.

THE IMPLIED READER IN THE HISPANIC CHILDREN'S LITERATURE OF THE "ENCUENTO" SERIES

Ballard, Genny D. 01 January 2005 (has links)
This dissertation discusses the implied reader in the EnCuento series illustrated childrens stories. All the stories are written by well-known Hispanic authors. This work elucidates historical, cultural, and semiotic gaps in the reading process. It explores the ways in which textual elements- such as style, focalization, and manipulation of readers expectations - affect the implied readers ability to produce or extract meaning. Our study will add to knowledge of the function of the implied reader in childrens texts. This study is divided into four chapters, each focusing on the implied reader. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the series discussing three books that are easy to understand, with simple vocabulary, chronological plots, and strong protagonists. Chapter 2 explores irony in two horror stories; Chapter 3 discusses books that promote a particular ideology. Finally, Chapter 4 explores books with protagonists who are outsiders. The books within each chapter have enough in common in terms of decodability that they seem to pursue the same kind of implied reader. Each chapter illustrates the way that style, point of view, manipulation of readers expectations, and telltale gaps affect the implied readers ability to make meaning. Within the series, each contributing author creates a system through which the reader can participate in the story. The authors intent is to communicate meaning to the implied reader. In sum, interpreting texts is communication between author and reader. In all of the EnCuento texts, authors employ response- inviting structures, making them interpretable on many levels. This study further analyzes EnCuento stories the better to decide if their primary purpose is didactic. Because of the political content of texts written for adults- as in the case of the stories written by Benedetti, Paz, and Valenzuela - I expected them to communicate a clear political message to their child readers. The thesis also inquires into whether books are, in fact written for children and children exclusively. Because the EnCuento authors are accomplished writers of adult literature, this study analyzes the degree to which the authors communicate specifically with a child audience. Finally, the dissertation analyzes the illustrations in several of the texts and finds that book illustrations are essential to making connections with the reader. It also explores cultural references to decide if they are specific to Latin America.

Studium reaktivity huminových kyselin s využitím metody difúzních cel / Study on reactivity of humic acids via method of diffusion cells

Hrubá, Pavla January 2012 (has links)
The diploma thesis focuses on utilization of diffusion cells in reactivity mapping study on humic acids. In the experimental part, samples 6 humic acids of different origin or chemical modification were studied. All the samples were characterized by basic analytical and physico-chemical methods (elemental analysis, thermogravimetry, determination of acidity, spectrometry). Methylene blue was utilized as a model reactive probe and agarose gel as an inert support medium. An effect of interactions between humic acids and methylene blue on diffusivity of the dye in the hydrogel was determined and discussed.
