"Det är som att livet stoda stilla här" : Gävletidningarna och influensan 1918

Denna uppsats analyserar tendenser hos två tidningar i deras rapportering och opinion om spanska sjukan under hösten 1918. Syftet är att undersöka likheter och skillnader i tendenser i tidningarnas rapportering och kritik av myndigheter samt huruvida de primärt kan förklaras ideologiskt eller genom ett centrum/periferiperspektiv, samt ifall tidningarna ägnade sig åt objektiv rapportering, lugnande självcensur eller överdrifter. Med avstamp i induktiva slutsatser hos Margareta Åman, Stein Rokkans modell för integrering av nationalstater samt idéanalys konstrueras ett teoretiskt ramverk för en hypotetisk-deduktiv undersökning. De undersökta tidningarna är Norrlandsposten samt Arbetarbladet och tidsramen från juni till december 1918. Analysen visar att rapproteringen karaktäriserades av ett visst manande till lugn. Vidare iakttas en konflikt mellan politisk ideologi och en motvilja att kritisera politiska allierade hos Arbetarbladet, låg nivå av kritik hos Norrlandsposten, samt en tendens mer karaktäristisk av en perifer tidning hos Norrlandsposten. Slutsatsen som dras är att Norrlandsposten troligen medvetet fokuserade mer på Norrland och att Arbetarbladet agerade som många arbetartidningar under tidsperioden.

This masters diploma thesis deals with the topic of shared services centres as a factor of development of the region. It ispects the issue from both the aspects of the companies as providers of the business support services and their clients and the aspects of the region. It analyzes location factors for setting up this type of companies in the region and the effect of these companies on the development of the region. The focus of the thesis is oriented on the European area. The work contains the definition of the term shared services centre including fitting the concept in the topics of globalization, internalization and multinational corporations as they stand behind the formation of the whole concept. The work further names location factors and, according to these, compares current situation in European countries. The following part provides with profiles of selected European countries serving as destinations for shared services, and comparison with the development in the Czech republic which today serves as one of the progressive European destinations in terms of this sector. The last part of the work is based on a case study which was carried out in cooperation of a shared services centre providing support to an international company retailing electronic goods.

The task of this business plan is to check the feasibility and financial cost of the project and be used as a basis for the real establishment of the enterprise. The theoretical part deals with basic concepts related to entrepreneurship, individual parts of the business plan and issues related to coworking centers. The practical part includes the business plan itself. Attention is paid mainly to the description of business opportunities, competition analysis, business environment analysis, marketing and financial plan, and threat and opportunity analysis. In conclusion, the whole work is evaluated, the fulfillment of the given goal and the recommendation for the founder.

This thesis deals with mutual socio-economic relations core and hinterland on the example of Prague and Central Bohemia. In the introduction relevant theoretical approaches which deal with this topic are presented. Furthermore most important relations between Prague and Central Bohemia are identified and analyzed. These are migration of population from core to hinterland known as suburbanization, commercial suburbanization, commuting to work and changes in land use. The last chapter is a comparative analysis of relation between core and periphery on examples of Vienna and Budapest. In all three regions there are similarities consisting of faster growth of hinterland in terms of population and the spatial differentiation of suburbanization, which depends on the attractiveness of location and traffic accessibility.

The diploma thesis deals with the integration of Kulturní centrum Turnov and Městská knihovna Antonína Marka v Turnově. The theoretical part briefly describes the area of culture, public cultural services and strategic management of cultural organizations, followed by selected techniques and methods of strategic management analysis of both organizations. In the practical part horizontal and vertical analysis of functioning of both organizations is made and their strengths and weaknesses, critical points and opportunities are described. Following the SWOT analysis there is a summary of the outcomes and strategic actions for the period of integration. The main goal of the thesis is making a decision regarding the feasibility of integration. The secondary targets are vision of future operation of the integrated organization and finding alternative book allocations.

The aim of the thesis is to define and evaluate the marketing mix of the fitness centre World Gym Fitness Group Inc. and to recommend changes that would increase the efficiency of the marketing mix. The theoretical part is divided into two chapters and focuses on marketing mix of services and marketing environment. Within the crucial practical part there has been run a research to determine the mission of the company and clients´ satisfaction. The research is based on direct observation. The practical part contains at first general characteristics of the World Gym company. The next chapters are focused on the individual parts of the marketing mix of the fitness centre. The marketing mix includes services, price, promotion, distribution, physical environment and people. At the end all findings are summarized in the SWOT analysis and recommendations are designed to increase the efficiency of the marketing mix of the fitness centre.
