= ,,Der runde Tisch Österreich" - a mission strategically efficient model for unity among Christians?

Wieland, Andreas 30 November 2005 (has links)
There is a great diversity of initiatives furthering unity among christians. Probably the most important ones are those of the World Council of Churches (WCC), the Roman Catholic Church as such and the Lausanne Movement of the Evangelicals. The "Runde Tisch" (=Round Table) brings together Austrian christians from all parts of the christian scenario as a new initiative towards unity. To find out, which of these initiatives is the most efficient, from a mission-strategical standpoint, this thesis develops the New Testament findings on the question of unity. Then, the 4 models are presented to finally be compared, to find out, where each one has its strengths and weaknesses. The Round Table Austria with its great width of christians involved, its theological profoundness and its leadership structure with proportional engagement of members from all present parts of the christian body is indeed quite close to the New Testament picture of unity. / Christian Spirituality, Church History & Missiology / M. Pentecostal contributions to modern Christological thought: a synthesis with ecumenical views

House, Sean David 30 November 2006 (has links)
Pentecostalism, which developed its essential character during the classical period of 1901-1916, has many significant contributions to make to modern theology. Often viewed as a type of fundamentalism, it is actually a theological tradition in its own right that deserves consideration along with the other two major streams of protestantism, conservative evangelicalism and more liberal ecumenical-mainline thought. Although it emphasizes the experience of the Holy Spirit, pentecostalism is highly Christocentric as is evidenced by its foundational symbol of faith, the fourfold gospel of Jesus as savior, healer, baptizer, and coming king. This work examines how the pentecostal fourfold gospel, as a functional, from below Spirit Christology, anticipates and intersects with trends in twentieth century ecumenical theological thought. The result of the study is the articulation of a fuller, more holistic understanding of the work of Christ in salvation in the world today. / Systematic Theology & Theological Ethics / M. Th. The missiological dimensions of African ecclesiology

Andriatsimialomananarivo, Solomon 11 1900 (has links)
The growth of the Church in Africa, namely at numerical level, is tremendous. However, we notice that her impact on society and public life is not so visible as the growth is, since Christian values are embodied by Christians. Yet, the Church has huge human resources, pastors, missionaries, lay leaders and theologians. The challenge for the Church in Africa is to incarnate and inculturate these values and the living message of the Gospel. In this thesis we question the co-operation between the Church and mission agencies, between native pastors and western missionaries. We notice that since 150 years, there has been a huge gap between these two entities. This is due to the fact that Theology and Missiology look like two lines that never meet. This situation leads us to revisit not only the current paradigm Church-Mission but also the current link between Theology and Missiology. / Christian Spirituality, Church History and Missiology / D.Th. Gemeentestrukture vir diens in 'n veranderde samelewing

Engelbrecht, Gerhardus Johannes 11 1900 (has links)
How can the church, particularly the Dutch Reformed Church in Namibia, be structured to be truly relevant in a society where so many changes occur? Chapter 1 concerns Practical Theology researching communicative acts in the service of the gospel; defining a specific relationship between the church and the outside world. This is followed in Chapter 2 by a discussion of the churches' role regarding the enormous social, political and religious changes in society. In reply to the question: "which actions of communication in service of the gospel can assist the church to be a substantial factor to promote the gospel in the world?", chapter 3 looks at the possibilities that the model of the church as servant has for the influence of the church in the society. The last chapter refers particularly to the important role of laity and small groups in the structuring of the church to serve the community. / Practical Theology / M. Th. (Practical Theology)

The Papacy as ecumenical challenge : contemporary Anglican and Protestant perspectives on the Petrine Ministry

Le Bruyns, Clint Charles 12 1900 (has links)
Thesis (DTh (Systematic Theology and Ecclesiology))--University of Stellenbosch, 2004. / This dissertation explores how Anglican and Protestant church perspectives on the papacy are increasingly changing, as they identify the need for and value of a universal ministry of unity that may potentially be recognised in the future as a legitimate and propitious structure of ministry, though not without modification.

Da guerra à união: uma abordagem histórica da caminhada da Associação Evangélica de Comunidades e do Sínodo Evangélico-Luterano até a sua fusão e formação do Sínodo Evangélico-Luterano Unido / From war to union: an historical apporach to the union of the Associação Evangélica de Comunidades and the Sínodo Evangélico-Luterano leading to the formation of the Sínodo Evangélico-Luterano Unido

Joel Haroldo Baade 30 May 2007 (has links)
This masters thesis is an analysis dealing with confessional identity and ethnic discourse in the context of the approximation of two synods which would constitute the IECLB in 1949, these being, the Associação Evangélica de Comunidades (Evangelical Association of Congregations) and the Sínodo Evangélico Luterano (Evangelical Lutheran Synod), pointing out the conflicts in the process of intersynodical convergence at the institutional and congregational levels. This thesis is divided into three chapters. In the first chapter the confessional issues involved in the relation between the two synods is discussed. The central part of this chapter is the reproduction of the discussions of the educational institutions on the part of the pastors and the divergence of this discussion in relationship to the congregational emphases. In the second chapter we describe the importance of ethnic thinking that occurred in the synods, its relation to the German and Brazilian political situation and to what extent this marked the intersynodical relations. In the third chapter we discuss the coming together and merger of the synods and in what way this process was influenced by the confessional and ethnic discussions. In general, one can say that the coming together of the Associação Evangélica de Comunidades and the Sínodo Evangélico Luterano is marked by conflicts, differences of opinion and wars, but also clear signs of Christian commitment and the search for cooperation and unity are evident.
