The most two popular products in 2009 are smart phone and net-book because of the emersion of mobile computing. Since the mobile computing makes the notebooks more mobile, these kinds of notebooks are called netbook and on the other hand, since the mobile computing makes the cell phones more computing, this kind of cell phones are called smartphone. My research focused mobile computing impact on communication industry.
However, the communication industry is big and changing very fast. I tried to predict the communication trends and future competition carefully, and studied the research from the international institutions in good reputation. This research focused carriers, device manufacturers and software industries.
The future trends of mobile computing are: Location Based Service, Pre-paradigmatic Design Phase Competition, and Prosumer. Each companies should follow the trends, depending on own resource to make strategies plan, and I tried to gave them suggestions.

The Influence of New Technology Adoption on the Enterprise GlobalizationChu, Yu-hsin 30 January 2009 (has links)
Nowadays, the new information technology develops rapidly and becomes a necessary tool of globalization, and it has triggered the trend of globalization. The rapid change of the global environment has made both the debate of globalization not only deeper but wider and the development of globalization faster than before. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to discuss whether the industry would develop its global market after it adopts the new technology. In addition, we also try to understand whether the industry characteristics of the industry would affect the degree of the globalization or not.
This research used the questionnaire to investigate the manufacture, service and communication industries. We totally interviewed 372 enterprises. The results show that the adoption of new technologies has an apparent effect on the three industries that we discuss¡Fand the influence of the new technology is also apparent when we exclude the industry factor. Thus, we can confirm that the new technology will increase the degree of the globalization in these industries.
Besides, the EC Marketing technology will help the manufacture industry to improve its globalization. As for the communication industry, the basic facilities will be beneficial to its globalization.

從環境面探討通訊產業的技術創新與績效之關係吳怡靜, Wu, I-Ching Unknown Date (has links)
因應全世界電信自由化潮流,台灣自1997年開始解禁電信事業,開放民營,其相關產業-通訊產業更因此而相繼頭角崢嶸、蓬勃發展,通訊產業已然繼半導體產業之後成為二十一世紀的明星產業。
本研究採取個案訪談方式,探討台灣地區通訊產業的技術創新策略與績效表現間的關聯性,以及外部環境如何影響廠商對技術創新策略組合的選擇與績效表現。由於通訊產業涵蓋範圍極廣,因此根據有線、無線傳輸方式、其間子產業的特性以及上、下游廠商可能的關聯性,將其細分為通訊原料、微波通訊、行動通訊、寬頻通訊、光纖通訊、電信服務等六大類,因行動通訊部份無法找到配合訪談廠商因此作罷,然因此部份研究近來亦頗為盛行,讀者或可從其他相關文獻一窺端倪。除實際深度探訪九家個案公司之外,亦蒐集相關產業資料以資比對,因而歸納、推導出以下結論:
一、個案公司因分屬不同子產業別而採行不同的技術創新策略組合,明顯地可以劃分出三種組合,分別是「冒險型」、「積極型」與「穩健型」,另有一種「模仿跟進型」,通常於成熟期產業可發現,並未出現在本研究個案中。訪談結果發現當企業採行冒險或積極型態的策略組合時,其績效表現會優於同類型產業的平均水準。
二、個案公司因分屬不同子產業別,具有不同的子產業特性,因而具有不盡相同的外部環境,明顯地可以劃分出四種類型的外部環境。分別是第一類的高度動態、高度競爭與高度異質性;第二類的高度動態、高度競爭與中度異質性;第三類的高度動態、中度競爭與中度異質性;第四類的中度動態、中度競爭與中度異質性。
三、個案公司因分屬不同子產業別,或為因應身處不同類型的外部環境,因而採取不同積極程度的技術創新策略組合,以求取最佳績效表現。訪談結果發現在第一類與第三類環境下採取冒險型的策略組合,以及在第二類與第四類環境下採取積極型態的策略組合,皆具有不錯的績效表現。
綜上所述,我們可看出通訊產業內廠商除應瞭解本身所屬專業領域特質、所處子產業細部環境的變動情況,更應慎選合適的技術創新策略組合,以為企業謀取最大、最佳的績效表現。 / Communication Industry has become the leading industry in 21st century in Taiwan ever since the deregulation of telecommunication in Taiwan.
In order to investigate the relationship between the technology innovation strategy conducted by the Communication Industry and firm's performance, as well as the impact of environment as a moderator to the relationship between technology innovation strategy and performance, we have conducted the research by case study. As the widespread coverage of Communication Industry, we roughly classify the industry into six categories including communication chip, microwave communication, mobile communication, broadband communication, fiber communication and telecommunication service based on the way of transmission and vertical relationship in industry. However, mobile communication was not interviewed due to reasons. In addition to the findings from case study, we also collect the specific industry information for cross reference. Research findings are described as follows:
1. Case companies belonging to different sub-industry conduct numerous portfolio of technology innovation strategy. There are three types of portfolio formed, which are adventurous, aggressive and conservative type. The findings show that the financial performance will be better than the industry average when companies adopt adventurous or aggressive portfolio.
2. Case companies belonging to different sub-industry face various types of competitive environment; we find four types of environment formed. The environment are measured by three dimensions including dynamism, hostility, and heterogeneity which impact are distinguished into three levels, high, moderate, and low separately. The first type is high in three dimensions. The second is the same as the first one except its heterogeneity is moderate. The third is high in dynamism, moderate in hostility and in heterogeneity. The fourth is all-moderate.
3. Case companies belonging to different sub-industry have various types of competitive environment;therefore they have to conduct different portfolio of technology innovation strategy for best performance. The findings show that companies adopt the adventurous portfolio under the first and the third type of environment, and companies adopt the aggressive portfolio under the second and fourth type will have better financial performance.
To sum up, we suggest the Communication Industry know clearly about the competitive environment and its characteristics before conducting an appropriate portfolio of technology innovation strategy to acquire the best financial performance.

中國國內移動通信企業對於標準必要專利與美國移動通信產業知名NPE——InterDigital的初次交鋒就使得InterDigital付出了2000萬元人民幣的代價。而後,發改委對於就高通濫用標準必要專利的反壟斷調查更是開出了60.88億元的天文數字罰款單。
事實上,這些數字不僅起到了吸睛的作用,將人們的目光分分聚焦到中國的移動通信產業,同時,也因為案件發生的時間點而使得很多業界參與者猜測這樣的判決結果很可能是政府發展中國移動通信產業的政策手段。畢竟,自2000年TD-SCDMA成為世界公認的第三代移動通信標準之一以後,中國政府就打著TD產業的發展口號開始著力關注起中國移動通信市場的發展。自2008年奧運會以後,不管是銀行的放款額度還是產業政策的保護力度,都更加凸顯中國發展移動通信產業的決心。
另外,再加上近年來,各大通信巨頭在世界移動通信產業上掀起了大規模的專利戰爭,也使得人們對於專利的關注熱情愈發高漲。尤其是在移動通信產業中起到關鍵作用的標準必要專利,其價值地位也吸引了越來越多的目光。
本文試圖通過梳理TD產業政策演進的過程,來總結出中國自TD產業概念產生之後,移動通信產業發展的各階段產業狀況。再輔以華為VS InterDigital以及高通兩宗反壟斷案來探究產業政策的背後,案件結果究竟對中國移動通信市場的標準必要專利運作模式起到了怎樣的作用。
關鍵字:TD產業、標準必要專利、中國移動通信產業政策、濫用標準必要專利的制約 / For the first time that the Chinese mobile communication enterprise had a confrontation with the famous American NPE in mobile industry——Interdigital, it ended up with the result that Interdigital paid the composition of 20 million RMB. Moreover, China Development and Reform Commission gave Qualcomm a ticket of Six billion after the antitrust investigation of its abuse of Standard Essential Patents.
All these numbers not only attracted public concern to the Chinese mobile communication industry, but also make some related participants thought the time of cases happened showed the sentences might be the policy methods to develop the Chinese own mobile communication industry. Since TD-SCDMA became one of the global certificated 3rd Generation Standard, Chinese government has made great efforts to develop the Chinese mobile communication under the banner of development of TD industry. After the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, Chinese government’s determination in developing the Chinese mobile communication became greater. The evidences were the increase of banks loans and the protection of industrial methods in related filed.
Furthermore, the communication giants’ pattern wars in the field of the global communication industry during recent years also raised public attention to the patterns, especially the standard essential patents which played a critical role in communication industry.
This thesis attempts to reveal the industrial situations of different stages in the development of communication industry after the rise of Chinese TD industrial concept by sorting out the evaluation of TD industrial policies. Moreover, two antirust cases of HUAWEI VS InterDigital and Qualcomm shows how the sentences affected the operating mode of standard essential patents in Chinese mobile communication industry behind the industrial policies.
