Essas mudanças são, também, percebidas nas escolas, principalmente, nos alunos, mesmo naqueles que não possuem acesso ao universo digital em casa. Nas escolas públicas, encontramos alguns entraves: há computadores disponíveis para o uso, porém para alguns professores dos Anos iniciais ainda há dúvida sobre as possibilidades de usá-los na alfabetização: por que, como e quando utilizá-los. Assim, questionamos se há e como são os Objetos Digitais de Aprendizagem (ODA) que auxiliam no processo de alfabetização e letramento. Para tanto, estabelecemos como objetivo geral avaliar a aplicabilidade dos ODA para o processo de alfabetização e letramento. Para alcançá-lo, delimitamos, como objetivos específicos: a) levantar e analisar os ODA existentes para uso no processo de alfabetização e letramento de acordo com os níveis de escrita e o currículo; b) aplicar e verificar a aplicabilidade dos ODA selecionados em relação aos alunos e à prática docente da própria pesquisadora; c) desenvolver um material de apoio com sugestões de ODA para utilização na alfabetização e letramento. These changes are also perceived in schools, especially in students, even those who do not have access to the digital universe at home. In public schools, we find some obstacles: there are computers available for use, however, for some teachers in the early years there is still doubt about the possibilities of using them in literacy: why, how and when to use them. Com a finalidade de ressaltar a história e memória do interior paulista, a instituição amostra da análise escolhida neste projeto de pesquisa foi o espaço virtual da Fazenda Santa Gertrudes (SP - Brasil), um retrato histórico da identidade cultural dessa região. O trabalho caracterizado como estudo exploratório, parte da abertura de um diálogo com um grupo de professores, resultando em um questionário aplicado em um universo maior para avaliar e incentivar o passeio virtual no campo de estudo. Posto isto, a preocupação passou a ser a compreensão de como múltiplos recursos e plataformas poderiam aumentar a interatividade do passeio virtual, apontando para outras possíveis relações de aprendizagem e ensino. Como percurso, são revisitados os conceitos tradicionais da democracia e situa-se a discussão nas maneiras como os valores democráticos são paulatinamente incorporados aos ambientes digitais contemporâneos, apresentados como elementos importantes na aquisição cognitiva do público. Como recorte demográfico, estuda-se a juventude eleitora conectada, residente na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Ao fim do trabalho, aplica-se uma pesquisa de caráter quantitativo com amostra representativa do público, na busca por compreender a opinião política, o posicionamento perante a democracia, os hábitos culturais relacionados aos meios massivos e TIC de comunicação, identificando, por fim, os repertórios de ação reconhecidos como tal na esfera pública com o suporte da comunicação digital. / The research identifies how young voters, ICT users, living at Rio de Janeiro city, appropriates the logic and tools of information and communications technologies nowadays in order to participate in civic affairs, specifically on politics. To accomplish this task, it is revisited traditional concepts of democracy, considering the ways democratic values are gradually incorporated into the environment of contemporary ICT resources, remarkable elements in the cognitive acquisition of young audiences. At the end of the study, it is applied a survey with a representative sample of connected youth in Rio. The main goal is understand political opinion, positioning towards democracy, cultural habits related to the mass media and ICT, identifying repertoires of action recognized as such in the public sphere with the support of digital communication.

Therefore, it is necessary to know if these technologies are embedded with pre-defined purposes in public high schools, which have differences on the use of these tools in education. In this context, it was identified in the public high schools in Taquaritinga city, state of SP, what are the effects provided by the integration of ICT in teaching and student learning process, through the manifestation of the teachers who are placed in them. It was decided to carry out a case study in three public high schools of the city and the application of questionnaires to teachers in order to obtain data who reported the reality of the use of ICT at school. It found that, although the ICT will be an issue disclosed in the educational setting, there are teachers who are resistant to changing traditional education for an innovative and dynamic teaching. It was also noted that the school management and its resources are deficient to meet the demand of teachers. It is noteworthy that the high schools in Taquaritinga city should immediately review the ways of working and put ICT in the classroom setting, because it was found the lack of incentive management and training by teachers involved in the research

This creative non-thesis project includes three theories from communication studies. Uncertainty Reduction Theory, Cultivation Theory, and Cognitive Dissonance Theory. Each theoretical framework also includes a script written with the intent of filming in the future. Those videos could be shown in communication classes. These three theories cover a breadth of knowledge in the field as they pertain to interpersonal communication, media studies, and persuasion.

<p>Human action recognition continues to evolve and is examined better using deep learning techniques. Several successes have been recorded in the field of action recognition but only very few has focused on dance. This is because dance actions and, especially Traditional African dance, are long and involve fast movement of body parts. This research proposes a novel framework that applies data science algorithms to the field of cultural preservation by applying various deep learning techniques to identify, classify and model Traditional African dances from videos. Traditional African dances are important part of the African culture and heritage. Digital preservation of these dances in their myriad forms is a problem. The dance dataset was constituted using freely available YouTube videos. Three Traditional African dances – Adowa, Bata and Swange – were used for the dance classification process. Two Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models were used for the classification and they achieved an accuracy of 97% and 98% respectively. Sound classification of Adowa, Bata and Swange drum ensembles were also carried out; an accuracy of 96% was achieved. Human Pose Estimation Algorithms were applied to the Sinte dance. A model of Sinte dance, which can be exported to other environments, was obtained.</p>

This thesis explores the conditions under which traditional Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) can be involved in the design of sustainable Product Service Systems (PSS). The integration between design and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the context of sustainable business development was used to define the space for this exploration. The research was carried out through a case study with a group of Colombian Manufacturing SMEs. As a result of the case study a business framework was developed to guide the design of sustainable PSS. In order to establish the basis of the research a review of the literature on sustainable business development, ICT, design, product service systems and SMEs was carried out. This review brought to light the main features of a sustainable PSS and the challenges associated with its design. These challenges were further investigated in the context of SMEs with a scoping study involving a group of 38 Colombian SMEs. Additionally, 36 PSS already on the market were analysed to identify the possible relationships between design and ICT, and to determine how they could contribute to develop sustainable PSS. The scoping study and the analysis of the 36 PSS gave structure to the case study with a second group of Colombian Manufacturing SMEs. This case study aimed to build understanding of the connection between the characteristics of these SMEs and the main features of a sustainable PSS. As a result of this case study a set of concepts, drivers and barriers to take into account to design sustainable PSS formed the basis of a business framework developed and validated in the final part of the research. The business framework proposed can help to understand the resources and changes needed to develop a sustainable PSS, reducing the uncertainty that it may cause. The integration between product and service design and ICT is used in the framework to outline the areas of opportunity in the design of sustainable PSS. This business framework developed as a result of the research promises to be a helpful tool for organisations working to support the transformation of SMEs toward competitive and sustainable business models using as a basis the integration between product and service design and ICT. Despite the Colombian context the results and outcomes of this research are described in general terms to be applicable in other contexts around the world working with SMEs in the design of sustainable PSS.
