The use of computational tools for postural evaluation has been very valuable in the detection of postural changes, however the use of these programs requires complex hardware structures and involves high costs for researchers in physiotherapy, physical education and the scientific community. In 2005, the Postural Assessment Software (SAPO) became to be a free option for the same purpose, widely used by the scientific community and professional with excellent documented results. Despite the success of SAPO in the scientific community, this software has limitations. So, the purpose of this study is to develop a software called ApLoB (Postural Assessment Laboratory of Biophysics) for postural assessment, having as parameter the development SAPO, but trying to collaborate on the overcome of its limitations. For this reason, its development is based on the structures and methods established by the software engineering that allow continuity of work and improved functionality. The software was developed using the Python programming language, scientific and NumPy extensions, the library of image processing (PIL), the application for graphical interfaces (PyQt), as well as data plotting library of 2D and application development signal processing (Guiqwt), among others. The prototype obtained was tested and its functionality was found to be acceptable, compared to SAPO

The present business plan carries out the approach and [projected] analysis of the implementation of a fintech in the national reality, with the intention of addressing the latent need of many Peruvians for efficient, innovative and direct access to financial institutions. that allow them to save money, given that, even if they make use of one or more banks in their day to, they do not usually use the digital channels to carry out their operations, whether these are payments, consumptions or else.
The first chapter describes the business model, as well as its scalability. Emphasis is placed on the value proposition, as this must be maintained over time and have a positive impact on the clients. The second chapter describes the problem, the target market and the launch of an application as a solution proposal. All this is validated by the fulfilment of experiments and the analysis of the results of these, reinforcing them with the execution of a concierge that will allow to detect the purchase intention of potential customers. In the third chapter, income and costs and expenses of investment, operation and financing of the launch of the application are presented, expressing functions, objectives and indicators of the various work areas necessary for the implementation of Coiny. Finally, in the fourth chapter, the conclusions and recommendations obtained with the preparation of this business plan are presented, with the intention of optimizing the efforts of the launch of the proposed solution into the market. / Trabajo de investigación

The World Wide reference collection: Zooarchaeological Twitter and the case for an international zooarchaeology databaseFitzpatrick, Alexandra L. 03 1900 (has links)
Yes / Social media platforms such as Twitter have allowed for a substantial increase in collaboration between academics, allowing access to information and advice from one side of the world to the other. This is especially true among both archaeologists and zooarchaeologists, who often turn to Twitter with faunal bones that they have been unable to identify so that another pair of zooarchaeological eyes can help. In many cases, Twitter has allowed access to reference collections that would have otherwise been inaccessible due to distance and monetary reasons. Based on numerous experiences in using the zooarchaeology community on Twitter to successfully identify archaeofaunal bones, this paper proposes that the next logical step for continuing collaboration among zooarchaeologists to is to develop an international digital database of faunal bone references, crowdsourced from reference collections of zooarchaeologists and institutions around the world. This database could bring zooarchaeology into the Open Access movement that will arguably define the future of archaeology in the digital world.

Easing software development for pervasive computing environmentsStovall, Andrew Erich 03 June 2010 (has links)
In recent years pervasive computing has enjoyed an amazing growth in both research and commercial fields. Not only have the number of available techniques and tools expanded, but the number of actual deployments has been underwhelming. With this growth however, we are also experiencing a divergence of software interfaces, languages, and techniques. This leads to an understandably confusing landscape which needlessly burdens the development of applications. It is our sincere hope that through the use of specialized interfaces, languages, and tools, we can make pervasive computing environments more approachable and efficient to software developers and thereby increase the utility and value of pervasive computing applications. In this dissertation, we present a new method for creating and managing the long-term conversations between peers in pervasive computing environments. The Application Sessions Model formally describes these conversations and specifies techniques for managing them over their lifetimes. In addition to these descriptions, this dissertation presents a prototype implementation of the model and results from its use for realistic scenarios. To address the Application Sessions Model's unique needs for resource discovery in pervasive computing environments, we also present the Evolving Tuples Model. This model is also formally defined in this dissertation and practical examples are used to clarify its features. A prototype for both sensor hardware and software simulation of this model is described along with results characterizing the behavior of the model. The models, prototypes, and evaluations of both models presented here form the basis of a new and interesting line of research into support structures for pervasive computing application development. / text

'n Onderrigraamwerk om werktoegangvaardighede by rekenaartoepassingstegnologie-leerders te verbeter / Elsie Elizabeth Sophia LubbeLubbe, Elsie Elizabeth Sophia January 2011 (has links)
Insufficiency in literacy is seen as a worldwide problem. The scope of the problem is confirmed by the fact that the United Nations declared the years 2003–2012 as International Literacy Decade.
Literacy is seen as a necessary skill – the cornerstone of human capital development – and a fundamental competency on which the mastering of all other skills depends. Fundamental skills such as reading, writing and numeric skills and technological literacy influence the economic prosperity of any country in different ways. The language and numeric skills of learners are declining, and employers are of the opinion that candidates applying for work do not have sufficient basic skills for available jobs. The above has led to the decision to focus in this study on the development of a teaching framework for the improvement of job access skills for Grade 10 Computer Applications Technology (CAT) learners.
The concepts of “literacy” and “job access” are discussed in the literature review. Job access skills are anchored in literacy. An analysis of the Grade 10 CAT learning programme and work schedule was done to determine to which degree literacy skills are addressed in the assessment standards. A framework and an accompanying workbook were developed in this study to address the gaps that were identified during the analysis of the Grade 10 teaching and learning programme and work schedule. Various requirements and determinants for the development of a teaching framework were studied. These requirements and determinants were considered for the development of the suggested teaching framework. A workbook containing literacy tasks was used to improve literacy skills of learners and was used as the instrument for the implementation of the teaching framework.
The empirical study being reported here was aimed at determining to which degree the use of the workbook that had been developed as the instrument for the integration of the teaching framework, contributed to the improvement of the learners’ literacy skills. During the qualitative study, it was revealed that the teachers at the schools participating in this study were very positive about the workbook, and also that they were of the opinion that it could contribute to the improvement of the literacy skills of the learners. A practical significant influence with a large effect regarding general literacy and a small effect on general numeracy were reported. The analysis of the quantitative data showed that completion of the learning tasks in the workbook does indeed have an influence on improving the literacy level of the learners, and it is thus recommended that literacy skills be integrated into the existing CAT learning programme. / PhD (Teaching and Learning), North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2012
