Orosanmälningar från idrottsföreningar - en studie om ledares kunskap angående barn som far illa

Larsson, Victoria, Hedberg, Petra January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to understand why so few notifications of concern regarding children are made from sports clubs to social services, the organisation charged with managing such concerns. To be able to understand this phenomenon organisational factors and sport coaches knowledge of warning signs of child maltreatment was studied. There was also an interest to study this further regarding the facts that the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Children, UNCRC, will be incorporated in the Swedish law January 2020. To answer these questions a qualitative method was used where six sport coaches, independent from each other, were interviewed using semi structured questions. The coaches represent different sports of which three are team sports, two are individual and one is both. The interviews were conducted in personal and were recorded. The analysing method used on the empirical data was coding and thematisation. The empirical data was analysed using relevant theoretical perspectives, namely ethics and organisational theory and an overview of relevant information on the subject. The results of this study showed that as well as there is a gap within the sport clubs regarding information, there is also a gap of information from the bigger organizations to the smaller local clubs. The findings also point towards the struggle coaches have when it comes to the ethical dilemmas that they encounter. How they choose to try and solve situations are directly related to the lack of knowledge - what happens in the process after one makes a referral of concern regarding a child and the fear of making the child's situation worse. One of the conclusions of this study is that if the coaches were given the right information and knowledge enabling them to have a good foundation to stand on, it is likely that more coaches would feel more confident regarding these dilemmas. This would help them know what to do if they notice that a child may be maltreated or abused. Each sports club also needs an existing updated child protection policy outlining how a coach should react when faced with concerns about welfare and protection. The thesis concludes by discussing whether sports clubs should have a duty to report child welfare concerns in the same way, for example, as teachers do.

Identification and quantification of chemicals of emerging concern (persistence organic and inorganic pollutants) in some selected marine environments of Cape Town, South Africa

Ojemaye, Cecilia Yejide January 2020 (has links)
Philosophiae Doctor - PhD / The increasing evidence of chemicals of emerging concern (CECs) in water bodies is causing major concern around the world because of their toxicological effects upon humans and aquatic organisms. The release of wastewater to the aquatic environment is most likely to introduce some trace levels of organic contaminants, some of which may be toxic, carcinogenic, or endocrine disruptors, as well as, persistent in the environment. These compounds are often persistent but not regularly monitored because they are mostly still excluded from environmental legislation. Their fate and persistence in the environment are not well understood

Trends in Human-wildlife Interactions as Related to Land Use and Human Density in Massachusetts

Huguenin, Michael A, Jr 18 March 2015 (has links)
We conducted a study of human-wildlife interactions in Massachusetts, USA between April 2010 and May 2012. Our objectives were to (1) compile and summarize public-generated reports on human-wildlife interactions across Massachusetts; (2) evaluate reports based on species, public concerns, and seasonal distribution; and (3) evaluate public perceptions of human-wildlife interactions. We collected unsolicited reports of human-wildlife interaction submitted to the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife (MDFW) through phone calls, emails, and face-to-face communications from the public. We received 2,730 reports from 332 of 351 towns in Massachusetts regarding 76 different wildlife species ranging from moose (Alces alces) to honey bees (Apis mellifera). Coyotes (Canis latrans) (328, 12%), bears (Ursus americanus) (307, 11%), and foxes (Vulpes vulpes and Urocyon cinereoargenteus) (284, 10%) were the most common species reported. Property disturbance/damage was the most common report type (934, 35%), concern for the welfare of wildlife was the most common concern type (539, 24%), and the most common report and concern pairing (referred to as perception type) was reports of young/injured wildlife with a concern for the welfare of wildlife (279, 13%). We tested for differences in reporting rates of human-wildlife interactions among seasons (spring, summer, fall, and winter) and among 5 urban-suburban development categories (low, medium-low, medium, medium-high, high). The distribution of total animal report records were greater than expected for spring and for summer and less than expected for fall and for winter. The distribution of total animal report records were less than expected for low and medium-low development categories, and greater than expected for medium, medium-high, and high development categories. We then conducted multiple regression analyses to examine how total reports of human-wildlife interactions, as well as reports of human and species-specific interactions (coyotes, foxes, bears, fishers (Martes pennanti), and birds of prey) related to median home value and landscape composition and configuration. Total reports and reports of coyote, fox, and fisher were correlated with our model.

Investigating the ‘Greenness’ of Young Consumers : A Study on the Influence of Environmental Concern, Exposure to Green Marketing and Green Scepticism on Green Purchase Decisions.

Darnéus Ekeroth, Julia, Milner, Natasha, Nurmi, Elina January 2020 (has links)
ABSTRACT   Date:                                  2020-06-06   Level:                                 Bachelor Thesis in Business Administration, 15 cr   Institution:   School of Business, Society and Engineering, Mälardalen University   Authors:         Elina Nurmi                         Julia Darnéus Ekeroth   Natasha Milner             (1993-01-08)                              (1996-07-24)                                  (1998-05-05)   Title:                                  Investigating the ‘Greenness’ of Young Consumers   Tutor:                                David Freund   Keywords:  Environmental concern, green marketing, green consumer, green scepticism, green purchase decision. Research Question: How can environmental concern, exposure to green marketing and green scepticism influence young consumers’ green purchase decisions?   Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how young consumers’ green purchase decisions can be influenced by their environmental concern, exposure to green marketing and lastly, green scepticism. It will be analysed if consumers are now overexposed to green marketing, whether there is an action/awareness gap, and lastly, the number of green consumers in the sample will be established.   Method: Primary data was collected through a quantitative research method, via a self-completion online questionnaire. The chosen sample was Swedes, aged 18-30 and consisted of 140 respondents. IBM SPSS Statistics was used for the statistical tests undertaken such as Cronbach’s Alpha, Chi-square, Pearson’s correlation and Regression analysis.   Conclusion: Environmental concern and green scepticism were found to have a significant influence on the young Swedish consumers’ green purchase decision. A great deal of the sample possessed environmental concern, and it was found to influence their green purchase decision positively. The participants were not sceptical of green marketing, and green scepticism was found to significantly and negatively influence their green purchases. Finally, the young Swedes were minimally underexposed to green marketing with a slight negative, but insignificant, influence on green purchase decisions.

BINARY BRIGHT-LINE DECISION MODELS FOR GOING CONCERN ASSESSMENT: ANALYSIS OF ANALYTICAL TOOLS FOR BANKRUPTCY PREDICTION CONSIDERING SENSITIVITY TO MATERIALITY THRESHOLDS

Bundy, Sid 01 January 2019 (has links)
In August, 2014, the Financial Accounting Standards Board issued an update concerning the disclosure of uncertainties about an entity’s ability to continue as a going concern. The standard requires an entities management to evaluate whether there is substantial doubt about the entity’s ability to continue as a going concern and to provide related footnote disclosures in certain circumstances. One consequence of this regulation is the need for guidance for audit testing of management’s assessments in each phase of the audit. This research evaluates the usefulness of bankruptcy prediction models as analytical tools in the planning stage of an audit for going concern assertions and questions the use of precision as the only measure of a model’s effectiveness. I use simulation to manipulate the fundamental accounting data within five bankruptcy prediction models, explore failure rates in an environment with materiality concerns, and consider the total change in market value due to simulated errors. Given the inherent limitations of the information environment and/or current prediction models, my results indicate auditors’ current failure rates are not an indication of audit failure. The results suggest that bright-line testing using bankruptcy prediction models are sensitive to materiality and that the cost trade-off between Type I and Type II errors is an important indicator of model choice.

Fenomén chůze / Phenomenon of walking

Hlaváčková, Jitka January 2017 (has links)
The thesis is focused on the phenomenon of walking and it's influence on the human perception of the environment. Walking is conceived here as a sustainable way of life and is discussed in three different dimensions: social, environmental and spiritual. It therefore maps the meaning of walking in the human life and it's impact on the environmental concern. The social, environmental and spiritual dimension of walking is presented in the theoretical part of the thesis. There is an analysis of the influence of walking on human health, formation and evolution of hiking trails and ways of the human life within them. In addition, it also deals with the concept of the perception of the nature and the human relation to it. The empirical part of the thesis introduces quantitative research of the pedestrians environmental concern which was carried out in the form of a questionnaire survey. The data from this research is then compared with the data from a representative sample of the population of the Czech Republic obtained in the framework of ISSP Environment III research. Key words: walking, sustainable way of life, perception of nature, environmental concern

Obchodní vedení v přeshraničních vztazích / Business Management in the Transnational Relations

Králik, Dominik January 2019 (has links)
This dissertation deals with the institute of business management with a transnational element. At the beginning of the thesis there are given three basic goals of the work. Their common feature is the effort to make the internal market of the European Union more effective. In the first chapter there are two questions discussed: on the one hand the actuality of the problem and on the other hand the perspective of the chosen topic. The first chapter also brings the definition of the term business management, while in the second chapter there are already described possible interventions into business management under Czech law. In principle, it is possible to distinguish two different forms of intervention, namely internal and external intervention. Under Czech law, the internal intervention represents the institute of the requested instruction and the external intervention the institute of the concern instruction. Through both forms of intervention, a foreign person can exercise its influence on Czech company. The third chapter is in its essence legal comparatistics and deals with the possibilities of intervention into business management under selected legal orders. The fourth chapter seeks to collect laws regulating international concern relations. The fifth chapter handles with collisional...

Factors Associated with Behavioral Intention to Disclose Personal Information on Geosocial Networking Applications

Cox, Trissa 05 1900 (has links)
Information privacy is a major concern for consumers adopting emerging technologies dependent on location-based services. This study sought to determine whether a relationship exists among factors of personalization, locatability, perceived playfulness, privacy concern and behavioral intention to disclose personal information for individuals using location-based, geosocial networking applications. Questionnaire responses from undergraduate students at a 4-year university provide insight into these relationships. Multiple regression results indicated that there was a statistically significant relationship between the four significant predictor variables and the dependent variable. Analysis of beta weights, structure coefficients, and commonality analysis shed light on the variance attributable to the predictor variables of the study. Findings provide understanding of the specific factors examined in the study and have implications for consumers, businesses, application designers, and policymakers. The results from this study contribute to an understanding of technology acceptance theory and offer insight into competing beliefs that may affect an individual’s behavioral intention to disclose personal information. Knowledge gained form the study may be useful for overcoming challenges related to consumer adoption of location-based services that require disclosure of personal information.
