Smarta kontrakt - vägen mot en helt digitaliserad bank : En studie om blockchain-tekniken inom core banking / Smart contracts - The way towards a fully digital bank

Holmstedt, Sarah, Örnberg, Malin January 2018 (has links)
In the banking industry today there are processes in need of digitalisation to meet the digital needs of the customers. An area which is a candidate for digitalization is core banking which stands for Centralized Online Realtime Exchange and includes processes such as bank loans. By implementing the blockchain technology and smart contracts to core banking processes they can become digital and meet needs such as efficiency and transparency. The purposes of this master thesis are to examine the attitude Swedish banks have towards the blockchain technology, find out what core banking processes that could benefit from an implementation of a smart contract, and create an implementation model of a specific core banking process as a smart contract. By examining these topics a holistic perspective of how the blockchain technology can create value for the banks and customers can be reached to create a proof of concept model of a core banking process with the blockchain technology and smart contracts. The purposes are fulfilled by a literature study, interviews with representatives from Swedish banks, legal experts and requirements specialists and a model consisting of flowcharts, requirements, specifications, stakeholders and models in the blockchain platform Corda. Generally the banks have a positive attitude towards the blockchain technology but there are regulations that hinder the development process. Promissory notes was the process chosen to be implemented as a smart contract since itscharacteristics are fulfilled by the blockchain technology and according to thebanks this process would create the most value. According to a evaluation by the requirement experts at the employer Applicon the implementation model is suitable as a proof of concept and a good base for future prototyping.

Core banking systémy / Core banking systems

Chadima, Antonín January 2017 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the topic of core banking systems. The main objective is to analyze the implementation of the SEPA payments into the payment module. The theoretical part defines the concept of core banking systems and its history. It also compares conventional approaches to core banking systems with Islamic ones. The theoretical part also includes chapters about implementation approaches, the most common challenges in implementation and architecture of core banking systems. Next part of thesis is about the basic modules of core banking systems. The practical part is about the analysis of requirements on core banking systems. Especially the requirements that are mandatory from legislation perspective. These are SEPA payments, PSD2 and instant payments. Gap analysis is used as the main method. We chose SEPA payment implemetation as the requirement that we will analyse. There are two possible solutions that can be used. The first one is the customization of the current payment module and the second solution is implementation of the payment hub. The conclusion of the thesis focuses on the best solution for each of two types of bank institutions. The main acquisition of the thesis is the recommended solution for two different types of banks. And second of all, the conclusions which was founded in this thesis should be used for another requirements such as PSD2, the introduction of instant payments, and more.

Huang, Yan-Ying Unknown Date (has links)
Facing the technology advancement, it is about the time to upgrade the core banking systems built during 1960s and 1970s. The massive variety of banking operation requirements and the IT dependency of critical banking services make the system upgrade transition an enormous burden. This study aims to establish an evaluation model to be used for selecting appropriate system integration vendor of core banking systems. We review the literature and establish an initial model by identifying a group of consideration categories and their included factors. These factors are conformed to real world situations through a case study on a commercial bank at Taiwan. In the following survey, the weight allocation for these consideration factors is to be investigated from the banking community at Taiwan. A questionnaire based on the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is used to collect the comparative perceptions for the importance of the consideration factors. Through the AHP, the aggregated evaluation weights can be calculated. Based on the perception difference among bank types and manager types, a statistical analysis will be conducted later. The decision-makers may adjust the evaluation weights based on the ad-hoc needs for their banks. The comparative scoring of the evaluated vendors is then calculated based on the evaluation weights. The study contributes to investigate the important consideration factors for core banking systems and establish an evaluation model based on the industry perception. The similar approach can be extended to other information systems evaluation in the future.

Datový model datové migrace při implementaci bankovního systému / Data migration data model in core banking system implementation project

Krofika, Pavel January 2013 (has links)
This thesis follows up two views on the data migration project. First of all there is a basic description of data migration within MBI model. This model is created by information technology department on the University of Economy in Prague. The thesis fills in this model data migration task and related objects as task roles or documents. In the next part the thesis focus on concrete project of implementation of core banking system. More detail is dedicated to the data migration part of this project. First there are described principles of work in data migration and next the thesis aims on data model of data migration which is used as a documentary tool. This model is evaluated from the benefits and risks view for data migration and next there are described creation and updating of it. These activities are provided mostly by macros in VBA script language, which are created here for these purposes. In the end some options of model extension are designed and evaluated.
