Průzkum spokojenosti účastníků Mistrovství České republiky v beachvolejbale v porovnání s podobnými zahraničními turnaji / Study of satisfaction of Czech beachvolleyball championship participants compared to analogous foreign tournaments

Sládek, Jiří January 2021 (has links)
Title: Study of satisfaction of Czech beachvolleyball championship participants compared to analogous foreign tournaments Aims: The main aim of this diploma thesis is to determine satisfaction of beach volleyball players with the Czech beachvolleyball championship in Opava 2020 in comparation with foreign tournaments. Following these results recommendations and advice for improvement of the Czech beachvolleyball championship are proposed. Methodology: The main methods used in this thesis are electronic questionnaires and semi- structured interviews. Creation of the questionnaire was inspired by the SERVIMPERF method and Brady's model. The questionnaire was investigating 26 attributes overall. The data set consists of players from Czech's beach volleyball's national team. Interviews were conducted with two national team players, and the aim was primarily to add to the information obtained from the electronic questionnaires. Results: The obtained data is interpretated via graphs, mostly by cross-tab classification and tables. These data showed that the players were not content with the vast majority of investigated attributes of the 2020 Czech beachvolleyball championships. Comparatively, the foreign tournaments are in most of the attributes satisfying. In the resulting comparison the foreign...

Zpracování vět se slepou kolejí u studentů středních škol s češtinou jako mateřským jazykem / Garden-path sentences processing in high-school students with Czech as a native language

Ceháková, Markéta January 2021 (has links)
The presented thesis focuses on garden-path sentence processing in Czech and follows the line of research within the good-enough approach to language comprehension. Some studies within this framework suggest that, after a garden-path sentence is reanalysed, a full and complete syntactic representation is formed, but the system fails to prune the initial misanalysis completely (Slattery et al., 2013; Qian et al., 2017). However, the research of garden-path sentences within the good-enough approach stems from a limited number of syntactic structures. This thesis presents a series of three self-paced reading experiments employing open-ended comprehension questions that aim to test if the conclusions of Slattery et al. (2013) can also be applied to syntactic structures that have not yet been examined within this framework, namely senteces such as "Roztržitý kastelán zamkl průvodkyni na nádvoří koloběžku.". The results are only partially in accordance with the hypothesis. The lingering misanalysis effect was shown only for the sentences with an animate object (these sentences were generally harder to process). Sentences with an inanimate object, that are easier to analyse, show no difference in response accuracy in comparison with similar unambiguous sentences. Keywords: garden-path sentences,...

Integrace imigrantů v Evropě: příklad afrických imigrantů v České republice. / Integration of Immigrants in Europe: An example of African Immigrants in the Czech Republic

Ndiforn Ambenji, Aji Naomi January 2022 (has links)
Integration of Immigrants in Europe: An example of African Immigrants in the Czech Republic This study aimed to contribute to the understanding of the integration of African immigrants in Europe by the case study example of the Czech Republic. The following procedure was chosen to achieve this goal; firstly to briefly introduce African migration in the Czech Republic in the context of migration to Europe and integration of foreigners in the Czech Republic, secondly to analyze the integration of African immigrants into the Czech Republic, and thirdly to evaluate the contribution of Czech institutions to the smooth integration. The research for the case study was carried out on a sample of 50 African immigrants in the Czech Republic selected by the purpose and the snowball sampling methods. The sampling methods determined that the study covered migrants predominantly from Central and West Africa, who do not form the largest but important African group living in the Czech Republic. It also focused mainly on the population living in the Czech Republic for a long time, usually over ten years, partly with the citizenship of the Czech Republic. Men predominated in the sample, just as they predominate in the African population in the Czech Republic. Emphasis was placed primarily on structural integration,...

Malý stát v NATO: Případ vyzbrojování AČR / Small State in NATO: Arms procurement in the Czech Armed Forces

Křikava, Richard January 2022 (has links)
This diploma thesis is puzzled with influence of NATO on Army of Czech Republic (ACR)'s armaments and if this influence is key factor in decision making regarding new acquisition projects or if other factors have bigger impact on decision making in question. NATO with the USA as its main sponsor is more benevolent than Warsaw Pact of which The Czech Republic was part during Cold War. Even though we can observe attempts to force member states into increasing their defense budgets from position of power, the main principle in new armament acquisition is standardization, which is based on semi-voluntary bases. However, in case of The Czech Republic standardization is not starting factor for new acquisition project. Change in security environment after Russian aggression in Ukraine in 2014 forced states to into increasing their defense budgets, which was manifested itself in summit in Wales in 2014, where NATO member states promised to allocate 2% of GDP by 2024. However, it was observed that not all states will meet this deadline and that size of state do not play significant role. Increasing of defense budget allowed ACR to start long awaited modernization projects. This diploma thesis found that not NATO but outdated equipment with fear from being dependent on Russian provisioning plays a key role.

Environmental policy and firm financial performance / Environmental policy and firm financial performance

Horváthová, Eva January 2016 (has links)
In my PhD thesis I investigate the relationship between corporates' financial and environmental performances. The concept of quantitative environmental performance measures was introduced to enable to compare and analyse environmental impacts of different socioeconomic units e.g. companies, countries, regions. In my dissertation, I use environmental performance measures to examine their effect on the financial performance of different companies. In the first chapter, I apply a metaanalysis to examine the results of the previous studies which investigate the impact of firms' environmental performance on their financial performance. The outcomes propose that it is important to account for the omitted variable bias such as unobserved firm heterogeneity. The results suggest that it takes time for the environmental regulation to materialize into the financial performance, too. In the subsequent two chapters I study Czech firms over 20042008. First I study the intertemporal effects of corporates' environmental performance on financial ...

First Order Analysis of Nitrate Loading in the Upper Elbe River Basin, Czech Republic

Ritter, Daniel J. 10 December 2010 (has links) (PDF)
Nitrate contamination of water is a worldwide issue. Nitrate is especially dangerous for young children, and may result in potentially fatal blue baby syndrome when concentration in drinking water is > 10 mg/L N-NO3. Nitrate in surface water may also lead to eutrophication. Sources of NO3- contamination include nitrate fertilizers, wastewater treatment plants, individual domestic septic systems, runoff from animal feedlots, and natural soil nitrogen. Nitrate contamination in the Elbe River drainage, covering 148,270 km2 in Germany and the Czech Republic, has been a long-term issue. This study examines the upper one-third of the basin, located almost entirely in the Czech Republic. In the Czech Republic, NO3- concentrations, which in some river reaches exceed the European Union (EU) standard of 50 mg/L, have decreased only slightly or remained constant since monitoring began in the 1960's. At the German border the calculated average 2000-2008 Elbe discharge is 9.4 x 109 m3/yr and annual NO3- loading is 37.4 x 106 kg/yr. The upper Elbe has four major tributaries: the Labe (Elbe), Berounka, Ohře, and Vltava whose percentages of total discharge and NO3- loading are 10.3/10.4, 28.0/33.3, 12.6/8.9, and 49.1/47.4 percent, respectively. Flow and NO3- concentrations for 138 locations were obtained from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute. δ15N compositions, determined for 57 locations, were used to create a map showing the estimated spatial distribution of nitrate sources within the basin. Nitrate loading for each sample site was calculated using historical concentration and flow data for 2000-2008. Preliminary calculations suggest that ~ 76 percent of the nitrate load is from human/animal waste. Given that large feedlot operations are rare, the major source of nitrate in the region is likely small wastewater treatment plants and rural septic systems.
